Let me jump in here and say that like Tracy Morgan, I don’t eat lasagna that has three cheeses! I eat four-cheese lasagna! And I’m hungry!
LSU (+1.5) at Vanderbilt- I looked it up. LSU has never been an underdog, ever. Brian Kelly is hungry!
Texas A&M (-7.5) at Arkansas - I looked it up. Arkansas does not have a real coach.
Michigan State (+27.5) at Indiana - I looked it up. No coach wins after a contract extension.
NFL Game of the Week
Rams (-3) at Jaguars - I looked it up. The Jags play in Jacksonville.
TD Wood
Back to 2-2 – at least I’m still in the black on the year, I suppose. One hell of a slate this weekend, there’s something to watch in every window. All I know is it better end with me smoking a cigar. Roll Tide, go to hell tennessee.
Oklahoma at South Carolina (+5.5) – The Gamecocks have certainly fallen below lofty expectations, but they’re still a talented squad who plays hard. I think the home crowd gives them enough of a boost to keep this one tight until the final whistle. The Oklahoma offense is still a question mark until John Mateer’s hand is 100%, and that gives South Carolina an opening.
Ole Miss (+7.5) at Georgia – Georgia winning wouldn’t surprise me, but bring a whole touchdown favorite sure does. The Bulldogs haven’t looked elite yet this season, and Ole Miss was clearly looking ahead to this one last weekend when they struggled with Washington State. Lane Kiffin is going to have plenty of tricks up his sleeve for his ol’ buddy Kirby Smart. Not only do I like the Rebels to stay close, I like them to win the battle of the Nick Saban coaching tree.
Hawai’i (+2.5) at Colorado State – I didn’t realize until now that I’ve picked all underdogs… screw it, I’m staying with the ‘Bows on the road in Fort Collins. The Colorado State defense is suspect at best, and Hawai’i is playing well this season.
NFL Game of the Week
Packers (-6.5) at Cardinals – Arizona just has terrible injury luck this season, losing four straight after a 2-0 start. Green Bay has been inconsistent, but could use this game to get right.
Mallory McCormack
Now that the Icy Hot bowl is over can we please give a timeout, I mean, round of applause for the NFL for getting that out of the way early in the week?! But before we talk NFL, we gotta talk 3rd Saturday in October…they low down, they dirty, they some snitches. But I don’t snitch. I just call it like I see it and still somehow get lucky every once in a while…
Missouri (-1.5) at Auburn - If Auburn couldn’t get more excited for Georgia, then Missouri can definitely win by more than two.
Tennessee (+8.5) at Alabama - Sorry, Bama fans, but you can’t say that Tennessee beating Arkansas by three was a good sign. You beat Missouri by three. I think you were both focused on the 3rd Saturday. I have to admit this is one of my favorite non-Ole Miss games every year, because you honestly never know…
Penn State at Iowa (-3) - what a week it’s been for the Nittany Lions. And what a season it will continue to be…
NFL Pick of the Week
Patriots (-7) at Titans - I know the NFL has talent no matter the team, but just like Penn State, I think it’s just one of those years for the Titans. But hey, maybe the stadium will be nice when they finish??
Greg Bosworth
The struggle continues week to week. Everything that sounds good goes south quick but still trying to get a winning week going
LSU (+1.5) at Vanderbilt - Despite the struggles of the LSU offense, this team has an elite defense. I don’t see them having problems containing the Vandy offense. Diego Pavia is a little too slow for this defense, and I’d be shocked if he finds any success running the ball. A great defensive performance will be enough to get the Tigers in place to win on the road in Nashville.
Nebraska at Minnesota (+7) - The Huskers are ranked for the first time in awhile and this is a road game they have to win to be taken seriously nationally. This game is usually very close, and seven just seems like a lot of points. Expect this to come down to the last series or two.
Texas A&M at Arkansas (+7.5) - This is a rare place for the Aggies to be in the polls, and going into Fayetteville can be tricky. As long as the Hogs can move the ball this one will be interesting. These two teams have had some wild finishes over the last decade, and I wouldn’t expect any different tomorrow afternoon.
NFL Game of the Week
Commanders (+1) at Cowboys - Simple as this, it doesn’t matter where the game is played: this Dallas defense is terrible. They can’t stop a nosebleed and I have no confidence they can win a game right now. Dak is playing pretty well right now but not being able to get any key stops will be the difference in another close game just like last week against the Panthers. Expect Jayden Daniels to have a field day through the air and on the ground.
