Bo and Rainey return today where they discuss the icy Antarctica depths First, it's the Ningen, a mysterious cryptid that’s been spotted by Japanese sailors. Bo also informs audiences on Creature 86B. Then Rainey helps switch gears and to cover two creatures who have the same name. the Wampahoofus. One is from Maine, the other is from Vermont.

Speaker BHello.
Speaker BWelcome to Hidden Creatures podcast of the mcfap with father and son.
Speaker BI am Bo.
Speaker AI am Rainy.
Speaker BAnd I am the father.
Speaker AI am the son.
Speaker BToday is our.
Speaker BOur fifth episode, I believe.
Speaker BAnd so I'm going to be talking about a couple creatures from Antarctica.
Speaker BAnd Rainey, what are you going to be talking about?
Speaker BThe Wampit hooves, which are two creatures.
Speaker AWith the same name but very different descriptions and character characteristics.
Speaker BOkay, cool.
Speaker BAnd Raimi's creatures are both from New England.
Speaker ANo, they're not.
Speaker AOne's from.
Speaker BWhere are they from?
Speaker BWhat?
Speaker AOne's from Maine and the other one's from Vermont.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWhich is New England.
Speaker AOh, I knew that.
Speaker BFair enough.
Speaker BDo you know what New England is, Randy?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker BSo New England is a group of states in the, like the north, that northeast chunk of states is all.
Speaker BIs commonly referred to as New England.
Speaker BSo it's just a big chunk of states and both those states are New England.
Speaker BSee, we're teaching people things.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BThis is educational.
Speaker BNot only are we talking about.
Speaker BTalking about mcfap, we're also talking about.
Speaker BWe're giving them geology lessons.
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BDo you wanna.
Speaker BDo you wanna fill people in on what mcfab stands for?
Speaker AMythical cryptid.
Speaker AFay.
Speaker AAlien.
Speaker AParanormal.
Speaker AParanormal.
Speaker BSo like Randy said, mcfap.
Speaker BMcf, A P stands for mythical cryptid, Fay, alien and the paranormal.
Speaker BAnd in this podcast, we do do a couple different things.
Speaker BSome podcasts we will interview people about their experiences.
Speaker BAnd other podcasts Sereny and I will sort of do research on.
Speaker BMost of the time it's one creature each, but sometimes it's two or, you know, stuff happens.
Speaker BWe get a weird bug in our pants and do something different, but that's what it is.
Speaker BAnd so, so this time we are talking about creatures.
Speaker BLast episode was with, we were interviewing MC and we, we talked to her about spirits and spirit cats.
Speaker BSpirit cats or fairy cats.
Speaker BAnd we talked about the Mount Vernon Monster a little bit and what, you know, what our thoughts on the Mount Vernon Monster are.
Speaker BAnd then next episode we are going to be interviewing her again.
Speaker BAnd in that episode we're gonna, we're gonna talk more about.
Speaker BAbout fairy the.
Speaker BWell, I guess the fay in general and, and some of her run ins with, with Faye type experiences when she was overseas.
Speaker BSo she's been over to Europe quite a few times.
Speaker AWho we think the Mount Vernon Monster is.
Speaker BYeah, we also discuss the Mount Vernon Monster again.
Speaker BAnd I feel like we talk about.
Speaker BOh, poltergeist.
Speaker BI don't like poltergeists, so.
Speaker BOh, we talk about ghosts and like ghost theory and.
Speaker BAnd we discuss how much I dislike poltergeists.
Speaker BThey creep me out to the point where that's not talk about them anymore because they're.
Speaker BThey're creepy and I don't like them.
Speaker BSo before we.
Speaker BTo get too far into our episode, let's give just a few disclaimers.
Speaker BDo you want to give the first disclaimer, Amy?
Speaker AWe are not professionals.
Speaker BCorrect?
Speaker BNot at all.
Speaker BNot even a little bit.
Speaker BOr just two dudes hanging out, talking about interesting experiences, interesting creatures, and.
Speaker BAnd we have no background in any of this.
Speaker BWe are not professional podcasters, we're not professional researchers, we're not professional mcfap hunters.
Speaker BBut, you know, we're having fun.
Speaker BWe're discussing things and hopefully join along to have some fun as well.
Speaker BBut with that statement of we're not professionals, you know, there are definitely some things that could get better.
Speaker BOur editing, it's a work in progress.
Speaker BHopefully it gets better as we go along.
Speaker BAlso, we do have dogs.
Speaker BSometimes they can be heard on.
Speaker BIn the background.
Speaker AAnd some chickens.
Speaker BAnd we do have some chickens, and sometimes they can be heard pecking at.
Speaker AThe door, trying to put in.
Speaker BTrying.
Speaker BYeah, we do not.
Speaker BThey're not house chickens, but where I record is right by the back door.
Speaker BAnd sometimes they will huddle here and.
Speaker BAnd Raini also has a mother and I have a lovely wife.
Speaker BThey happen to be the same person.
Speaker BAnd sometimes she forgets that we're recording and so she can be heard in the background as well.
Speaker BSo with that, let's get into our discussion.
Speaker BDid I forget anything, Rainy?
Speaker AOh, the discussion that I know nothing about.
Speaker BOh, yes.
Speaker BSo we originally tried to record this episode a couple days ago, and I was really excited to share something on that episode that had happened that day.
Speaker BAnd it was sort of this like, cascading domino effect of weirdness.
Speaker BBut I really wanted to surprise Rainey with it.
Speaker BAnd so at the end of the episode, I brought this up, we talked about it, and then we had some technical issues and we lost the entire episode.
Speaker BAnd so we're having to re record.
Speaker BBut it's interesting that we're having to re record because there have been some additional interesting things that have happened that has all been related.
Speaker BSo once Rainey and I discuss our creatures, then we'll get into this third topic of interest.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker BRainey, are you going first today or am I?
Speaker AYou are me.
Speaker BOkay, cool.
Speaker BSo like I said earlier, I believe I.
Speaker BDuring my research for.
Speaker BFor some other creatures, I came across initially one cryptid From Antarctica.
Speaker BI got really excited.
Speaker BI have a slight infatuation with Antarctica that like, if I could only go to one place for the rest of my life, like you're.
Speaker BAnd the rest of my life I'd stay home.
Speaker BBut I was allowed to take one last trip.
Speaker BI would go to Antarctica.
Speaker BI want to spend the night on the continent of Antarctica.
Speaker BI'm just infatuated with it.
Speaker BI think it is an amazing place or a Shackleton, you know, explorer famous thing happened down there.
Speaker BIf you haven't heard of him, you should look into it, look into him.
Speaker BAnd one of the things that fascinates me about Antarctica is that it doesn't have a native human population.
Speaker BSo, so the rest of the world all has a native human population.
Speaker BAnd so they all have a creation story that goes along with it.
Speaker BAnd whether that is, you know, the biblical creation story or it is, you know, Turtle Island, North North America with, you know, Native American, some Native American cultures, Turtle island or whatever, like, like all over the world there are these creation stories of how the world came into being, but Antarctica doesn't have one.
Speaker BAnd I just find that absolutely fascinating.
Speaker BSo when I found, just by chance, a cryptid from Antarctica, it really got my, got my attention.
Speaker BSo the cryptid I'm going to be talking about is called the Ningen N I N G E N and there are some weird reports of how long this thing has been around.
Speaker BI found one source that dates sightings back to the 1700s.
Speaker BThe rest of my sources all have sightings starting or reports of sightings starting in the early mid 2000s.
Speaker BAnd most of these sightings have been related to Japanese sailors who have been either exploring the area or who have been exploring the area.
Speaker BSo with that, let's get into the description what these things look like.
Speaker BThey are reportedly completely white, just like albinos, no coloration, just, just white.
Speaker BAnd they're estimated to be a length or a height of 20 to 30 meters.
Speaker BAnd so a meter is a little over three feet, give or take.
Speaker BBut let's just keep math easy.
Speaker BSo let's say 3ft to a meter, 60 to 90ft.
Speaker B60 To 90ft, that's a big creature.
Speaker BPeople have described them as being like human in shape.
Speaker BSo imagine like a 90 foot tall person that's bigger than a giant.
Speaker BSo they have legs, they have arms, they have five fingers on their hands, they have eyes and a mouth.
Speaker BNot described as having a nose or ears, but eyes and mouth are, are reported.
Speaker BAnd sometimes they're described as having fins like a dorsal Fin similar to like a whale or a dolphin or something like that, or a large mermaid like tail instead of legs.
Speaker BAnd also sometimes more rare, but sometimes they're reported to have tentacles similar to like a cephal squid or an octopus, something like that.
Speaker BAnd sometimes the.
Speaker BTheir description goes sort of other end of the thing.
Speaker BAnd they're.
Speaker BThey're described as small bipedal humanoids that are armless, similar to a creature called the Fresno nightcrawler.
Speaker AMay I butt in real quick?
Speaker AThe difference between small and 90ft?
Speaker AYes, it's sort of big.
Speaker BYep, yep, I get it.
Speaker BI understand that.
Speaker BSo there has been some photographic evidence of it, but all the photographic evidence has been either revealed to be hoaxed or they're just like artistic interpretations.
Speaker BAnd now with.
Speaker BWith the prevalence of like AI, just like AI animations.
Speaker BSo nothing, no reliable pictures.
Speaker BOne of the theories about these things is that it is an undiscovered species of apes which is able to breathe underwater.
Speaker BI'm not buying into that theory because just none of those things have anything to do with an ape.
Speaker BApes are not 90ft tall.
Speaker BApes don't go breathe underwater.
Speaker AThey don't have mermaid tails.
Speaker BI'm not buying it.
Speaker BBut that's a theory, you know.
Speaker BYes.
Speaker BAnd so Ningens rose to popular culture knowledge after an article was published about them in 2007 in an issue of a Japanese paranormal magazine and the Arter, an article called them Antarctic humans.
Speaker BAnd it also included a Google map screenshot of what appeared to be one of these creatures off the coast of Namibia.
Speaker BNow again, Namibia is in Africa.
Speaker BWe're going back to our.
Speaker BOur geologic lesson.
Speaker BGeology lesson for today.
Speaker BOr I guess maybe this is geography.
Speaker BMaybe I need to go back to school Geography lesson of the day.
Speaker BAnd Namibia is in Africa, not Antarctica.
Speaker BSo through all my research and I visited many pages and ultimately the Ningen is made up.
Speaker BIt doesn't exist.
Speaker BThey just made it up.
Speaker BThe resources I used to research the ninja or cryptids.fandom.com and that is spelled C R Y P T I D z.
Speaker BAlso thought catalog.com fringe creatures.com and mythologyworldwide.com so those were the resources I used for the fake mcfap Ninja nonsense.
Speaker BNow y' all gonna have to look it up or be scared of some creature haunting some giant massive creature haunting the waters off of Antarctica because it's not there.
Speaker AAnd also Africa.
Speaker BYep, it's not there either.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BBut in the process of researching the Ningen, I came across another cryptid in Antarctica called organism 46B.
Speaker AThat sounds like something out of a science fiction thing, correct?
Speaker BIt, it does and maybe for a reason.
Speaker BOrganism 46B is also a large creature.
Speaker BNot as, not as large as the ninja is reported to be.
Speaker BIt's reported to be roughly 33ft long.
Speaker BIt's, it's multi tentacled squid like creature which lives in Lake Vostok.
Speaker BAnd Lake Vostok is a, is a sub glacial lake in Antarctica and the Russians have built a research station on it.
Speaker BAnd the lake is, is located roughly two miles under the ice cap there.
Speaker BCouple things going back to this description of this, this creature.
Speaker BIt can release a toxin into the water to immobilize its prey and it can reportedly shoot this toxin about 150ft.
Speaker BSo it's like an underwater squirt gun of paralyzing mayhem.
Speaker BThere are also reports of this creature being able to do like some weird telepathic stuff.
Speaker BIt was also reported to be very aggressive and have a high intelligence.
Speaker BA couple things about Vousox Station.
Speaker BFirst it was established by the Soviet Union at the time in 1957, in 1974 is when it was discovered that there was, that Lake Vostok existed.
Speaker BSo before then they just thought they were on a big ice cap.
Speaker B1974 And then roughly 40ish years later is through ice core drilling they were able to push through to actually through ice, ice core drilling get to the lake.
Speaker BAnd so they got to the lake reportedly on February 5th of 2012.
Speaker BAnd there has only been sort of one, one encounter with this creature.
Speaker BAnd it happened then, but happened over a period of several days.
Speaker BAnd so, so the people doing ice core drilling really disturbed this creature and made it a little.
Speaker BSo one of the scientists on the, on the exp.
Speaker BOn the expedition expedition, his name was Dr. Anton Padalka.
Speaker BAnd I'm going to read a quote.
Speaker BHe said that quote.
Speaker BWe encountered organism 46B on our first day drilling into the lake.
Speaker BIt disabled on radio which we later learned to our alarm was intentional.
Speaker BIt was also able to paralyzed prey from a distance of up to 150ft by releasing its venom into the water.
Speaker BAnd tragically my colleague and lifelong friend was killed this way.
Speaker BYou know, so, so basically as soon as they hit the water like they woke it up, something happened and it went on the attack.
Speaker BLater like the group was attacked multiple times.
Speaker BIt killed some people, it ate some people.
Speaker BPadalk also said and this, this might be a little scary for the aura folks, but we watched helplessly as it used its arms to tear off one of the people's heads and popped its remains in its mouth and ate it.
Speaker BIt was as if it had hypnotized him telepathically.
Speaker BYou know, they talk about it being able to shape shift and all that stuff.
Speaker BAnd ultimately, ultimately through my research, again, again, hoax doesn't exist.
Speaker BThe story of organism 46B first serviced in 2012.
Speaker ALet me guess, it came from a science fiction novel.
Speaker BCorrect.
Speaker BThe author is C. Michael Forsyth.
Speaker BYeah, yeah.
Speaker BSo it's, it's, it's a fake.
Speaker BOld fake Arooni.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker BBut in all of this research I did find another interesting thing and I just didn't have time to research.
Speaker BAnd so there is a.
Speaker BIt's called the Antarctic Door and so I'll research that for another one.
Speaker BBut it is reported that this strange door like Land of Mass formation has been found in Antarctica.
Speaker BAnd people believe all sorts of things.
Speaker BThey believe that's like that's the portal that Bigfoot's coming in out of.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd I don't want to talk too much about it because I, I really didn't, I looked out and didn't have time to do the research that I needed to do.
Speaker BSo.
Speaker BYeah, so two for two hoaxes decrypted.
Speaker BBut like I said all, you know, in a later, later episode I'll, I'll visit the Antarctic door.
Speaker BSo that's what I got.
Speaker BRandy, what you got today.
Speaker ASo one of them only exists in a book I have and the other one exists in Vermont.
Speaker AWhich one do you want to hear first?
Speaker BLet's go with the one in the.
Speaker ABook, the one Vahuvas.
Speaker AWhen hiking, always stay to the left of any puddles or doggy areas that you encounter.
Speaker AOr the one armed wumphahubus may grab your boot.
Speaker AFor a little context, Wumphahubus.
Speaker AThis one anyways, only has one arm, one eye and is smushed flat like.
Speaker BA piece of paper.
Speaker AYep, gotcha.
Speaker AThese curious creatures have a have a strong appetite for boot leather.
Speaker AThey're not too shy to reach out and grab your feet.
Speaker AOften all that can be seen of a lurking once vahubus is its single bubble shaped eye that sticks up out of the mucky water.
Speaker AThe rest of the body is rather like a leather leathery lily pad that floats just below the surface and anchors itself itself deep in the muck.
Speaker ASince it only has one right arm, anyone unlucky enough to step near one right side while walking through a puddle will find it grabs on tight.
Speaker AAnd all these animals prefer to only eat.
Speaker ATo eat only do leather, but take any footwear they can get for their small size.
Speaker AThey are very strong and often come away with shoes.
Speaker AIf you're successful in rescuing your footwear, you will likely hear a sad fooling.
Speaker AIt's spelled S, C, H, C, K. C, K, C, K, L O, O,.
Speaker BO, P. Do you know the grammatical term for that?
Speaker ANo.
Speaker BIt's called an onomatopoeia.
Speaker AWhat's that?
Speaker BAn onomatopoeia is the schn.
Speaker AOh, yeah, because it sounds like the sound that it makes.
Speaker BCorrect.
Speaker BIt's a word that sounds like the sound that it makes.
Speaker BLike moo or whack.
Speaker BWhack.
Speaker BThose are onomatopoeias as well.
Speaker BLook, look, we're educational now.
Speaker BWe're talking about grammar, people.
Speaker BGrammar.
Speaker BSorry.
Speaker BOkay, okay.
Speaker BBack.
Speaker BBack to the wampa hooves, which is.
Speaker AThe cry of a hungry wampa Hooves.
Speaker AThe author has found these creatures can sometimes be pulled from the muck by probing them with a specially made wamphehoovus rod.
Speaker AThis tool is much like a lily handle ladle handle, a flat piece of metal about 18 inches long with a curved hook on the end.
Speaker AThis hook is used to grab them under the arm, pull them from the mud.
Speaker AFirst known by part of its scientific name limited it's spelled L I M M E R T A K U S B O O T T I I.
Speaker AThis animal was discovered by Dr. Francis Booth, a famous naturalist of the White Mountains.
Speaker AThe first full modern scientific account of this creature seems to have been recorded by AG Oxton.
Speaker AThe common name wampa hooba seems to be inspired in some way by the sound heard when children stop in trail mode.
Speaker AAnd here's a direct quote from the book.
Speaker ADarn mud puddle.
Speaker AGot my boot.
Speaker AIt was almost like something grabbed a hold of it and wouldn't let go until the boot was off.
Speaker ANever did I find it.
Speaker ABy Burton Mao Packard.
Speaker APackard, I think.
Speaker AAnd this is the author's descendant.
Speaker ADo you need me to spell anything?
Speaker BNo, you're good.
Speaker AOkay, now to the Vermont version.
Speaker AThere are some trails that are reportedly made by the wampha hoobas by the wampajoovas walking around in circles.
Speaker AAnd so whomphehubuses are born where either the left side legs are shorter or the right leg right side legs are shorter so they can walk around hills easier.
Speaker AThe wamphajuvas was only native to certain areas of Mount Mansfield, Vermont's highest peak.
Speaker AThey inhabit a specific elevation zone, usually between 2,600ft and 3,200ft.
Speaker ADescribed as shine reclusive, generally avoiding human contact.
Speaker AHowever, folklore suggests they grow increasingly irritated by litter litter in hiders sometimes becoming territorial, territorial or aggressive towards those who don't respect didn't respect the mountain environment.
Speaker AQuite possibly this distant cousin of the rackabore, a pig like creature and almost certainly a near relative of the Wang doodle.
Speaker ABy some accounts, males always went had shorter left legs and the females always had shorter right legs.
Speaker AAnd so they can move around by leaning against each other.
Speaker AAnd so that's how they walk in a straight line.
Speaker APeople who have claimed to have seen the Wampahoulis say it's a mix between a deer and wild boar.
Speaker AWhile the Vermont varieties had fur, a version with scales is also said to have existed elsewhere.
Speaker AIts color varied from a dark green to an almost glowing orange.
Speaker ASome were three toed, others had five.
Speaker AThere's even a mention of a cloven hoofed wamphehubus.
Speaker AOkay, the sources I got for this were Vermont's very best and mental floss.
Speaker BIs that all you got for the wampa hoofus?
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker BOkay.
Speaker AOh wait, there's a quote in the book that I think is really funny.
Speaker BOkay, well, why don't you read that to us?
Speaker AIt's too bad gougers aren't good at Eden.
Speaker AThey sure aren't hard to catch.
Speaker AAnd that's by Burton Melbourn.
Speaker APackard.
Speaker APackard.
Speaker APackard.
Speaker BNice.
Speaker AThat's the author's relative.
Speaker BYeah, I forgot to list my, my, my sources for organism organism 46B for that one.
Speaker BI did monster fandom.com and also medium.comm e---I u m.com and that one.
Speaker BI only did those two because once I found out it was a hoax, like I was done with it.
Speaker BI didn't go any further.
Speaker AYou were too tired from the ninja.
Speaker BI was too tired from the ninja.
Speaker BI wasn't going to keep researching something that's fake.
Speaker BOkay, should we talk about this other thing?
Speaker AYep.
Speaker BOkay, so on a couple days ago, MC was our interview last episode and will be our interview next episode.
Speaker BSent me a link to a podcast and she said, hey, this like this podcast sort of relates back to.
Speaker AWas it Sarah's episode?
Speaker BSarah's episode in the first, you know, the first interview you did like, cool.
Speaker BYou know, I thought, neat.
Speaker BI'll check it out.
Speaker BI'll.
Speaker BI'll give it a quick little listen to make sure it's, it's family appropriate.
Speaker BAnd so I listened to it for about five, six minutes and, and in it the, the gentleman who Was being interviewed, was talking about owls and how there is a lot of research showing a connection between owls and UFO sightings and owls and.
Speaker BAnd fay experiences and owls and Bigfoot and owls in the paranormal.
Speaker BJust, Just, just a tremendous amount of.
Speaker BOf evidence has been collected on this.
Speaker BAnd so at the time, I.
Speaker BLike I said, I listen to five, ten minutes of it.
Speaker BTurned it off.
Speaker BSo cool.
Speaker BI'll finish listening to it with.
Speaker BWith Rainy later.
Speaker BAnd then, you know, later in the day, I. I do a walk every day, just trying to.
Speaker BTrying to be healthy, get my steps in.
Speaker BAnd there are.
Speaker BThere's a wooded area by our house with, With a little trail network in it.
Speaker BAnd it's.
Speaker BIt's a very little trail network.
Speaker BI think, you know, if you walked every single trail in it, it might be two miles, maybe two and a half.
Speaker BNot, not, not long.
Speaker BAnd that's, that's like.
Speaker BYeah, anyway, two, two and a half miles.
Speaker BSo as I'm walking, you know, I'm in the woods and I'm thinking about, you know, owls.
Speaker BAnd I was thinking about a gentleman I used to work with.
Speaker BAnd I've.
Speaker BI've told this story before about his.
Speaker AWas it in MCs at first episode, first interview?
Speaker BMaybe It's.
Speaker BIt's about a gentle.
Speaker BYeah, I think I talked about it there.
Speaker BThe guy is Cherokee, and he had asked me to pick up, like, words if I ever saw one on the side of the road that had been hit and dead, you know, and so I saw one, took him to it, and it ended up being an owl, and he had a very negative reaction to it.
Speaker BSo anyway, I was thinking, hey, you know, it would be really interesting to get him on the show and so we can talk about owls and the relation to, like, these other things and also talk about their role in his culture.
Speaker BExcuse me.
Speaker BAnd he's married to a woman who is from a tribe in the Southwest Four Corners area, I believe, and their view on owls is very different.
Speaker BTheir cultural view on owls is very different than what his cultural view is.
Speaker BSo I was thinking, hey, you know, I wonder if I could talk him into doing it.
Speaker BAnd I wonder if I could, like, talk him and his wife into doing it at the same time.
Speaker BSo, so, so we sent this podcast about owls and the paranormal.
Speaker BThinking about the podcast, Alice in the paranormal, thinking about getting these people on the show talking about owls and the paranormal.
Speaker BAnd at that point in time, I heard an owl noise, and I was like, oh, that's interesting.
Speaker BIt's not uncommon to hear owls in our Neighborhood.
Speaker BBut just at that particular point in time, I was like, oh, that's interesting.
Speaker BLike, it's sort of like an owl day.
Speaker BAnd up there.
Speaker BI rarely see an owl up there.
Speaker BI think I've only seen an owl one time in, like, up there.
Speaker BAnd that was.
Speaker BIt was years ago.
Speaker BI see hawks up there all the time.
Speaker BBut, yeah, rarely, rarely, rarely ever do I see an owl.
Speaker BAnd then I hear another hoot.
Speaker BAnd it was very loud.
Speaker BAnd I looked up, and as I looked up, the owl sort of took off.
Speaker BIt was on the branch above me, and it flew down the path.
Speaker BAnd I like, oh, my goodness gracious, this is something.
Speaker BRight?
Speaker BSo I walk down the path, and every time I get sort of where it landed, it takes off again.
Speaker BSo it followed me down, like, sort of led me.
Speaker BLiterally led me down this path.
Speaker BI was going on thinking about owls, thinking about all this stuff, thinking about getting people on to talk about owls.
Speaker BYeah.
Speaker BAnd it's probably, you know, maybe half a mile, three quarters of a mile that, like, we sort of did this follow the leader down the path.
Speaker BAnd then one of the things Randy and I were talking about on the episode that got erased was like, what?
Speaker BBecause I believe it was a sign of some kind.
Speaker BBut how do you feel about that, Ray?
Speaker BDo you think it was a sign?
Speaker BYes or no?
Speaker AMaybe I think like, some spirits or something might have been listening in on your thoughts.
Speaker AAnd they're like, he wants an owl, I'll give him an owl.
Speaker AAnd so that owl was sort of acting as a protector from the spirits that wanted to.
Speaker BGotcha.
Speaker BSo it was a sign, you know, but we don't necessarily know what that sign is.
Speaker BRight.
Speaker BWe don't know if it's a protector thing, like Rainey was saying.
Speaker BWe don't know if it's a sign saying, yes, like, explore this further.
Speaker BGet in touch with these people do.
Speaker BOr if it's sign saying, hey, you need to stop where you are and not do anymore.
Speaker BFirmly believe it's a sign of some kind.
Speaker BJust have no idea what that sign is trying to tell us.
Speaker BSo fast forward a couple days.
Speaker BYesterday afternoon, late afternoon, I reach out to my old coworker.
Speaker BWe text back and forth a couple times.
Speaker BHaven't talked, haven't nailed anything down.
Speaker BAnd then the next time I sit at the computer, I sit down and the background on my computer just changes.
Speaker BMost people probably know how to stop that.
Speaker BI'm not a technical dude, so I don't.
Speaker BI just, like, let it.
Speaker BAnd I like seeing sort of what pops up On a, you know, from day to day.
Speaker BSo I sit down at computer to do, to work on another podcast that I do, and the background is an owl.
Speaker AWas it the same owl you saw or.
Speaker BI, I don't know.
Speaker BI, I, I think the owl.
Speaker BI'm not good at owl identification.
Speaker BI just don't see them very often.
Speaker BI believe the owl that I saw was a great horned owl.
Speaker BI mean, it was just, it was big.
Speaker BIt had a very sort of low call that it was doing, but I believe it's a great horned owl.
Speaker BRegardless, probably one of our future episodes, we are, we are going to dive into owls because now I am going down this path.
Speaker BSo I hope that's what the owl messenger was, was telling me to do was, hey, explore this path about owls and, and, and their, their relationship to the unexplained and not saying, hey, don't do this bad idea because I'm doing it raining by, you know, default is, is doing it with me.
Speaker BHow do you feel about that, bud?
Speaker AI don't really get a say in what you're doing.
Speaker BNo, but how do you feel about us exploring the, this owl thing?
Speaker ADepends on what we find.
Speaker BLike, are you, are you excited about us exploring owls or, or are you like, hey, you know what?
Speaker BWe probably shouldn't do this.
Speaker AExcited.
Speaker BDo you have anything else for, for this show, bud?
Speaker ADon't be like the Squonk.
Speaker BSo in closing, you can find us on the socials.
Speaker BWe're really only active on, on one of the social media platforms, and that's on Instagram and Instagram.
Speaker BWe're @mcfap podcast.
Speaker BAnd again, mcfap is mcf a p. We are on other social media things.
Speaker BWe just don't really do anything with them because we're just not there yet.
Speaker BBut Facebook, just look up mcfap, bluesky, mcfap bsky.social.
Speaker AAnd then our email is mcfab podcast gmail.com.
