[00:00:43] by the defense, looked good, offense struggled early, looked real bad early in fact, but got

[00:00:49] going in the second half, really went to the run game, which you know we've been asking

[00:00:55] for a while, which a lot of Bama fans have been asking for a while, yeah, let the backs

[00:01:02] run, but let's focus on the defense first, shutout, you know, a rare thing in football

[00:01:07] these days, especially the college games, is that probably the best game they've played

[00:01:11] all season, you think, even if it's kind of a rough, you know, Missouri's offense has

[00:01:16] been hurt a lot?

[00:01:17] Yeah, oh, by far, I mean, they, you know, they got after it, you know, they, all four

[00:01:26] quarters, you know, got after it, seemed to have a good energy, and then, you know, they,

[00:01:33] you know, really had that pride in making sure they got that shutout, you know, that fourth

[00:01:37] and goal, you know, they were like the one foot line, and we held them, I mean, that was

[00:01:42] huge, I think, just for the confidence of the team, you know, just the, you know, that,

[00:01:47] you know, because that used to be the thing, like, we used to pride ourselves with getting

[00:01:51] shutouts and giving up points, you know, that used to be a thing, we'd be pissed off,

[00:01:56] and you could be up 56 to zero, and we'd be pissed off giving up a touchdown late, so,

[00:02:01] you know, that, you know, that was really the pride of the team, but, you know, I like,

[00:02:05] I really liked the effort there, you know, some of it may have been, of course, you

[00:02:11] know, that they're a little banged up there, you know, Brady was, Brady Cook was banged

[00:02:19] up, of course, the running back was out, at the same time, I mean, it's not like they

[00:02:23] had the worst guy coming into the game, I mean, Drew Pine, I mean, played in Notre

[00:02:28] Dame, for whatever that's worth, I mean, in a way, not a true backup in the sense,

[00:02:35] I mean, he had, you know, actual NFL, excuse me, college football experience at a high level,

[00:02:42] so, I mean, it's not the worst of the worst, you know, just the nobody in the backup, but

[00:02:47] I think, you know, yesterday was more about us and what we did, and, you know, I thought

[00:02:51] the defense definitely looked as good as it's looked all year, you know, and, you know,

[00:02:59] it was good to see, you know, they all talked about getting back to basics and doing basic

[00:03:05] things after, you know, the Tennessee game and the week that that brought, you know,

[00:03:10] seemed to live up to a little bit, and hopefully, you know, they continue to improve and, you

[00:03:18] know, get some rest over the bye week and, you know, get ready for the November stretch.

[00:03:26] Yeah, you know, yeah, you mentioned the shutout, you know, we took a timeout to put the starters

[00:03:30] back in to preserve it, too, and they got it, you know, got the big hold.

[00:03:34] Kane Womack was hyped, you know, came way out on the field to meet those players, yeah.

[00:03:41] Not a guy that shows a lot of emotion a lot, so I like that.

[00:03:46] You like when the coaches are just as pumped as the players are.

[00:03:50] You know, there was, I think, a good shot from behind the end zone.

[00:03:52] Malachi Moore was really pumped.

[00:03:55] Another great game for him, man.

[00:03:57] Since that Vandy game, he has been on a tear.

[00:03:59] And it was his interception that, you know, was the first turnover of the day that really

[00:04:03] kind of started the offense.

[00:04:04] You know, defense did its job again, got the offense in good positions in the plus side

[00:04:08] of the field.

[00:04:09] And after, you know, a struggle in the first half with just two field goals, they got the

[00:04:13] touchdown after that Moore interception.

[00:04:16] And then they just went to the ground.

[00:04:18] Yeah, and I think the biggest plus out of this game, beside the shutout, and no turnovers

[00:04:25] from the offense.

[00:04:27] It was, you know, that.

[00:04:29] And then the team seemed to make adjustments at halftime.

[00:04:32] You know, what wasn't working in the first half on offense?

[00:04:35] We turned it around.

[00:04:37] We stuck to the backs more in the running game.

[00:04:39] We simplified the passing game for Jalen.

[00:04:42] You know, not great numbers, but like I said, no turnovers.

[00:04:46] He was pretty efficient with the ball.

[00:04:48] Still, you know, maybe missed a throw or two.

[00:04:51] A couple misses, but...

[00:04:53] Yeah, but he still looks hurt, man.

[00:04:54] He's got to be hurt.

[00:06:03] Another thing I like to see is that, you know, Bernard's becoming a, you know, of course,

[00:06:08] Ryan Williams will already be the number one guy as far as just who he is.

[00:06:12] But Bernard's really come into his own the last three or four games.

[00:06:15] He hasn't had a, you know, he's had like 70, 80 yards every game.

[00:06:18] So, you know, I like to, he's kind of in a dependable, you know, role.

[00:17:53] But it's easier in today's world just because the NIL transfer portal, things of that nature, even with their academic, you know, requirements.

[00:18:03] And in some ways, it's going to be easier for them to at least get that guy with the chip on their shoulder that can come in and be a work guy.

[00:18:13] Hopefully they can keep it going that, you know, that they're not, you know, that they're going to at least be a middle of the tier.

[00:18:19] They're something you've got to take serious, so, you know, a bowl team and maybe, you know, every now and again, slipping, you know, make a playoff appearance maybe.

[00:18:29] But at least a team that you want to hopefully make a bowl game every year.

[00:18:36] And, you know, it's a great job by Clark Lee and his staff this year because they were –

[00:18:41] A lot of people had him on the hot seat and possibly, you know, getting canned at some point in the year or after it.

[00:18:51] They're on the verge.

[00:18:53] And that's pretty much it at Vandy.

[00:18:55] If you make a bowl game, you're pretty good.

[00:18:57] You've done a hell of a job.

[00:18:59] I mean, you've got to think about outside those couple years that James Franklin had, what, in 2013 and 14 before he went to Penn State when they won nine games, eight or nine games.

[00:19:09] I mean, outside of that, I think that's like one of their only two winning seasons.

[00:19:13] Even when they had Jay Cutler that year, you know, they took Florida to the limit.

[00:19:18] They were five and six that year.

[00:19:20] The SEC refs screwed up against Florida.

[00:19:23] I'm saying, but they were five – them still, they were a five and six team.

[00:19:27] And we revered them as a solid team.

[00:19:33] So, I mean, it just shows you the lack of history there.

[00:21:01] A couple blowouts to Oregon routed Illinois.

[00:21:08] Navy rough day for the Midee.

[00:21:10] Only two turnovers coming into the game and six on the day yesterday.

[00:21:15] Couldn't hold on the ball.

[00:21:16] Five fumbles.

[00:21:18] And they're usually not a team that makes mistakes.

[00:21:24] They don't do anything to beat themselves.

[00:21:26] Yeah, if any team's going to be disciplined and limit their mistakes, it's the Service Academy teams, you know.

[00:21:39] And we both swam and miss.

[00:21:42] I mean, I just had a terrible day on that.
