[00:00:38] Of course you know if you're listening to this, you probably are the same camp we are but for the first time in over a decade EA Sports releases a college football game in fans around the country and the country in the world have rejoiced.

[00:00:55] It's been a great week, those who got the delected edition got it Monday Tuesday, Lourley. Folks I guess normal folks got it on actually got it Thursday night the game stopped here had a. Yeah. Well early so it's been fun, it's been nice.

[00:01:14] What was the first thing you did when you fired up your copy? I mean, I just you know just play a quick game without a balance to see how it. And I'll just want to do it. See how the game worked. I mean, graphics and stadium everything.

[00:01:33] I mean this. I mean this legit. Who do you play against? I do. Yeah, I did. I did. Bama Tennessee you know had what Tennessee's asked us to start. Yeah. Nice. Uh, if you just been playing around, if you started dynasty anything like that. Well we're here.

[00:01:57] Yeah, me and my wife. We started dynasty. I've often. To see like, I've always liked to play the game but she likes to be croding in the. I've always liked to play the game. But yeah, we started off with UAB as a coordinator. And moved up to.

[00:02:23] Hey coach it. And I'm Memphis then. I have a couple years. They're able to stop Carol. Why didn't coach him out? I'm in Tuscalo. So they coach. Yeah, it's 20. We were on 20 29 now. Yeah, so you all have really played it. Yeah, well, well, it's standard more, you know.

[00:02:44] If it's a big game or one time, we'll just play the all-fins aside of the ball. Yeah. But because that's simple, some of those things have been brutal. Hi, yeah. That's been a thing out on the internet so far.

[00:03:02] One of the critiques of the game is the same engine as a little skewed. Yeah, it's a little a little too wild. Yeah, it's been like that. It was like my sick. I get with Zepht. What was it? Played against Notre Dame is my first game of Alabama.

[00:03:25] As I've been like number 10 in the country, I think they were like 15 and beat them. Next week, I'll come to St. Candituscalusia one and one. I think we're playing with Zero or something, but anyway, I think well, I'm not right to be fine. Take it out.

[00:03:47] We've been taking a real quick. No, no. Yeah, so that's it. That's it. Something serious. Yeah. We really think. We saw it every weekend. And then they went to directional school and back off some way. I was. Oh, right.

[00:04:11] And those are the those are the worst back and day because I think the rule we played by was. You got a. Yeah, so I think you got a one that you lose, but if you're a D one. Yeah, take the animal matter. Yeah, yeah, yeah.

[00:04:28] We basically played. We played games against each other and you could play top 25 games, I think. But everything else you had to send me just take whatever the result was. And yeah, sometimes you get that you'd be rolling like six and a no.

[00:04:42] You may have beaten one or two other guys in the dynasty. You feel good and then you come up against you. Like you tall state knock your ass out and like. Yeah, I'm happy. I'm here to be in the 80s. I don't know. Yeah.

[00:04:58] But no, that's it has been one of the things I've seen online so far. I haven't gotten that deep in my dynasty yet. We actually went out of town this weekend so I got the game. I haven't had too much.

[00:05:11] Actually, yeah, I've had a real a long time to dive in. There we go. Down below yesterday and man, we were. I was probably with that. And I probably went to sleep out to this morning and came out. We had time to fight it up to last seven.

[00:05:31] It's morning to do some food and stuff. Like, I recruited stuff for a little hard development. It's a lot involved. I like I said, I'm literally. I'm just like a couple weeks. I started. Yeah. You know, like one star. Yeah. You know, all those things.

[00:05:52] I'm just going to get a little bit more of that. And then, you know, you know, you can go to the last place. And it's a journey. It is. I think as started out Hawaii, I'm there offensive coordinator. So we'll see where I can go. Yeah.

[00:06:07] See what you're gonna do there. This weirdo be the only thing that's kind of weird is but you are in the recruiters. Maybe it's like I was kind of weird. Yeah.

[00:06:18] few iterations of the game on the old janset even if you're like just an offensive coordinator you recruit Everybody which I do think it's a little It doesn't yeah, it does feel like they should scale back recruiting if you're just a coordinator like you should

[00:06:34] Right to do the full thing into your head coach I'm in now to think too as you Like if you I've got to have kind of weird too like give it off on the coordinator of school

[00:06:44] You can play the whole game, you know, I got maybe it was gonna be You know, I mean you could choose to play the offensive side only or you just play the defensive side only but I thought that was gonna be like that thing you do

[00:06:59] But you know real things nothing to Crazy all the only thing so far Is when you're doing your recruiting if you have a sound All it is is that drop Yeah, it's good some uh it's good some uh it's quite often there

[00:07:19] It's cool the first like few minutes you're like okay. These guys are legit and then you're like okay Yeah, I think Big play my own music yeah, yeah But no, yeah, I haven't had I haven't seen anything weird the one thing I did so of course

[00:07:38] Like I said I played a couple games of Bama first, you know had to do the Csass same thing You just kind of wanted to see game play wise. I think it feels great like yeah, I know complaints really about everything

[00:07:48] Yeah, it's good it feels good I haven't really Played around like all the different offenses yet, you know like seeing how the option and all that I will say They switch it up on the read option so now you got to press A to keep the ball

[00:08:02] Yeah, and that that's that's done real for a couple times, but Cuz you speak the church and you You just have to hold it down to hand it off and now if you don't press the button it'll hand it off and you got to press it

[00:08:16] Pull it basically but oh So I did notice one thing too and hopefully these are things, you know and they seem like things that the A can fix or the patch, you know Up there I'm a

[00:08:29] What do you're fine with it was gonna drop in the moron five of them oh Yeah, oh Of course one of the first things I did when I fired up dynasty is I spent you know

[00:08:41] I'm a much smoke little stuff there, but I spent a long time making the conferences I wanted Switching them up, you know got the you know Since you can do the pack 12 still in the game technically you can add all the people back to it

[00:08:57] You know switch around ACC, you know I don't want to see you see a late in the big 10 Don't want to see Stanford in the ACC

[00:09:13] So I got all that I got all that back and then a couple other, you know changes here and there that I was like to make Little things got the big 12 pretty much the original big 12, but I added as a new yeast and

[00:09:27] I'm making some yeah little things, you know like make sure marlins and the ACC where they belong We worry But so when I got into dinesties kind of looking around the schedules and I didn't notice at least in the first season I haven't moved on yet

[00:09:46] That it does there create some scheduling Challenges so if you don't do divisions Yeah, and I think I miss that too. I think I know you can you can fix schedules at the big get first week and I think I skipped over that

[00:10:01] And probably would have called it and looked at it too late, but like so if you You know how you can Customize conferences and you can make it all one conference or you can split divisions or if you do division You can protect ravories

[00:10:17] If you don't do division to it doesn't give you that option I didn't do divisions and so I'm looking on the schedule and it's like Michigan and Ohio State aren't even playing in the new big 10 and

[00:10:30] So it's like oh okay, so I got to remember now. It's like okay, I'm gonna go back Yeah, go back and maybe Remember to change that Otherwise yeah, I've been I've seen some people out

[00:10:47] There's a lot of people online it kind of mad that they call it buggy or You know like there's some of these problems like that you know with the sins and what we just talked about that

[00:10:57] They're like should have been fixed before hand in you're probably right if you had this much time to make the game What do this of it is it's just the happiness everyone has at this games back out. It plays great Yeah, they're pretty smooth

[00:11:13] I mean when you go into the stadium I mean they're You know your answer says and everything are pretty cool stadiums The different stands I've been to I mean same pretty pretty actor for the most part

[00:11:30] Yeah, I mean this first for I mean the gameplay is a little different but I'm not bad I mean so far I mean I mean, no you know I got to say you know I was just excited to play the game. I did not

[00:11:45] Super expectations for you know our just You know I think you know For the most part I'm happy with it. I mean It's been so long. I mean now Be overly great Enjoy it. You know Sure, though add some patches cleanups and stuff

[00:12:14] You know you're going get better from here Yeah exactly I think you know of course people you know they want to everybody wants a bitch online Everybody's got to say something But I think I've seen more positivity than negative It looks great too. It's the presentation

[00:12:32] How they got little You know the little details they got in there for Hold on the cards and stuff on Very cool Yeah, right that those little details are like School specific stuff. There's a lot of like unique things to like mascots the way they celebrate

[00:12:51] There's a lot of custom stuff like that. It's really cool You know I think All of that stuff is great I haven't really I've I hopped on the ultimate team for a second

[00:13:06] I won't really mess with that mode too much. I just kind of wanted to see like What card I would get or something like that All right So you know I'm trying back where you're yeah, it's classic

[00:13:21] There's so much depth and then to see mode I feel like it's really cool You know and I haven't even like Got into the deep of it yet so There's so much to do with the recruiting while you can yeah, you know offer the scholarship

[00:13:39] You know you can I mean there's a lot of different options and you have different weeks where you can You know if they're ready to Take which week do you know come and visit that's pretty cool I Haven't played a I haven't even tried road glory yet

[00:13:59] The mate they got heard from people online Maybe pretty funny the people played so do not Do the underdog Oh, yeah, it's crazy It's crazy The funniest two things. Yeah, I've seen people that like try to be the underdog and just never got playing time

[00:14:20] Like maybe they got in their senior year The other funny thing is I guess when you're in road to glory you can text girls or DM girls or whatever But you can get blocked by them too and as all this one to do is like

[00:14:33] Did whatever you do and you got blocked and I thought that was hilarious Like I said everything I've seen it and haven't even like really really dove and no it yet It's awesome. It's great to have it back

[00:14:50] I can't count how many times because I didn't have the four site back when they canceled it. I actually had What was it back then? I guess a 360 in a PS3 Yeah, and If I do it over again. I would have kept like one of those two

[00:15:08] I guess the PS3 since I had you know I upgraded to Xbox one back then but I would have kept that in my copy in CA 14 or something just to play it over the years but

[00:15:20] Was there been many many times over the past decade when I've been playing another sports game? And I have fun you know I'm a big FIFA fan to love the two k franchise Which really has you talk about a deep franchise mode. They be a 2k games

[00:15:34] It's hard to it's hard to beat how deep those I mean But There's a time Two k made it I felt game back and all that Oh man yeah

[00:15:46] In a few k for a while it was rivalry they put out a couple of college basketball games that we used to play too that were That were pretty dope yeah I remember they a The two k college basketball game was the one they introduced the

[00:16:07] The coaching care cell at the end of the season. I mean, you know added that realism to it where You don't just pick a random school. We've got to wait for that coach to get fired or leave But um

[00:16:22] I just so many times playing those games even as much as I enjoyed them I was like man, I wish I was playing college real far right now. So just to have that back It is great looking you know looking forward to

[00:16:36] Working my way up through the ranks getting into school eventually Starting it all over again, you know You can see how far I can take that down to steam mode maybe At some point maybe I'll do like a team builder. You know Think about one team

[00:16:53] Yeah, I mean I remember A couple times I think college break where you make the whole thing and Yeah Yeah Then when you did the crazy thing those when you do your 400 different faces No

[00:17:17] I was not expecting that when I first did it up. I was like okay let me Let me pick this guy he's got a beard and some longer share and then I'll said I kept scrolling

[00:17:26] I'm like oh wait well, isn't oh wait oh wait oh wait I can get this same Facebook gray hair and like Yeah, I was like yeah, you're running my 400 faces But then you got like two shirts Yeah, you have it. Yeah, I was like come on man

[00:17:42] Can we at least you'd like to who's this with the polo or the polo? Yeah, as we can't get like a hoodie or a quarter zip or Right different types of Yeah, definitely. Yeah, what if you want to wear suit yeah, like all right

[00:17:57] I mean we'll still be No, yeah That's yeah because that's what I was looking for it's like I need a visor man. That's the full ball coach you know like It's just funny how EA and I know they have different you know

[00:18:16] Development teams for all the gains but you know if you play E a Fc if you start a manager career there you can It's not you know 500 choices but it's the same thing you couldn't really work with the face and really

[00:18:32] Customize your look but then when you get choices you can wear like t-shirt jeanage or a full suit You can wear like a hoodie or a pullover with your teens logo on it, you know Right I was like that's all I'm asking just give me five to 10 choices

[00:18:48] You know Like let me For how to face this but yeah, yeah, I don't need that many faces, but you know guise and I can either dress like bill bellachick you know give me the a t-shirt

[00:19:01] I can be one low-scotious or give me a polo give me a hoodie give me a Pullover give me the zip up Yeah, let me just

[00:19:12] Right let me get a visor so I can take the visor off and throw it like the old ball coach you're doing all right But uh, yeah other than that I'm thrilled it's great to have it Yeah, it's a good time It's been a good time in here

[00:21:15] And then we have the week There's two We're trying to eat about to We want to climb I Just like we tried to the night yeah You know and that was back when too When we were in college and played the recruiting was only in the all season

[00:21:34] I remember that that was a part of the dynasty we all hated because during the season All you did was play the games, you know you pray Sam We have fun and then you had to get everybody in the room for recruiting 12 guys playing the dynasty

[00:21:50] And it's big. All right 10 o'clock tonight to these room We're gonna play that you gotta do recruiting if you're not there we're going we're gonna send it for you Criving you get me two stars So they'd probably be like oh, let's go get some wings first Yeah

[00:22:11] Now it's every every week We're a group Transfer pulled on again No, man It's funny though because it does It it brings back you know trying to in a school manager wife plays it with you know my wife not a game where

[00:22:29] In cheese, you know we were talking this week. I was like shit wait when are we going out of town and what are we doing this Because we got to go out of town again this week for work for a couple days

[00:22:39] Okay, and she's like how's like wait what day and she's like why? And I was like because college football comes out. She's like what a video game I was like no not just any game you'll understand Has it been out for over 10 years this is serious business now

[00:22:57] You know, yeah, just she just looking at me and I'm like look This is part of me If you love me you have to accept this My son crazy what yeah, that's not crazy it

[00:23:16] But no like the wave of emotions nostalgia you get and it starts you think starts thinking back all the memories Like some favorite like do you have any like real specific memories of like certain things that happen like and our Don't see's back in the day

[00:23:32] Yeah, I remember that one time I went as good as you guys again One time I was playing Jeremy Jeremy that word and I pulled up the upset Back when he was JD yeah, yeah JD and he was pissed and with oh my god

[00:23:57] And I think I pulled it off of like It was like a last second here. I'm married man. I last second here. I'm happy And why don't you boom is And then he got up and put his hand right through the closet I remember that

[00:24:16] Was it it wasn't even his room though wasn't it like J-rock it was J-rock's room wasn't it somebody is Yeah, I think we're too rock song No, I think punch just hand through the closet and you know it's that cheap little closet dorm door but still

[00:24:33] And you were like Not you know like you say you want it's good the game, but it was also you were like southern myths and he had like Florida stator something like And can I just kept on hanging and hanging Thank you

[00:24:52] Oh, Doug Greg Greg run in that original the four varts offense verticals go deep Yeah, I was one of them. I remember thinking definitely a time or two somebody probably broke a controller I remember one crazy game too

[00:25:12] We were in my room. I think it was sophomore year A bunch of us playing it was that time that the RA You know that dude came over so you guys need to quiet down He was so mad, but we were hyped because our boy Eddie

[00:25:27] was playing a I forget dude's name But he was beaten at his ass Then slow by slow Eddie just kind of chipped away at the lead in the fourth quarter

[00:25:40] Eddie got it close like within the score and this dude can't try to be cocky and so running the ball He just wanted to throw it then through a pic six Eddie tied it up and then Eddie got them all back again He threw another pick and Eddie

[00:25:51] Came back and I mean he was down like 20 some points at least And it was a we got wild and all of a sudden we hear that Back bang Don't go Don't make me angry and there's like 12 He did And we looked at him. Okay my bad

[00:26:15] Back to your room this time Because I don't know who he was who we were waking up because everybody in the floor was in the room People Yeah, this stuff like that Or you know Freshman year going to all was his nickname putters room Yeah

[00:26:51] Rod rod our fresh one you are a yeah Eventually we moved it from putters room to my room like the spot to be to play it because And that man did not clean up his room

[00:27:10] Yeah, it's just funny thinking back on those classic moments. You know you watch big upsets the games People you know Yeah, some great time It's how we yeah shit I mean you know our boy Nate Good friend of mine still you know

[00:27:35] Chef at turkey in the wall three know our hot stuff now. He's got his knee restaurant down New Orleans So if you're listening to this new ones go go check it out hot stuff this some a little taste Alabama down in Orleans there but

[00:27:50] That's how we met him he said you know We were playing down in that big room we had brought the PlayStation now hooked it up to that big screen TV And he's like you can Remember one yeah, yeah

[00:28:05] Yeah, he had a kind of just saw us playing was hanging out and then I think right week or something later we were just chilling like in my room maybe or something like that playing it

[00:28:16] And he's kind of walked by and was propped up in the doors like you're playing it like yeah, we got a dynasty You play you won't in he's like yeah, I'll take a team And then that motherfucker used to get navy and

[00:28:29] Run that triple option on us and triple option day and it fuck all world up And especially back then because the mechanics weren't great in a game and he You'd have him wrapped up with three dudes and he hit that pitch button that motherfucker still somehow

[00:28:48] Throw that ball perfect pitch 70 are touchdown right Navy the national title games and shit But it was talking about Down stairs in that oh And then a common air We're watching so I Florida All-water Yeah, it was either now is either Oh three

[00:29:29] To that giant angels world series if I remember I knew nobody cared about we didn't give a shit and he and He had bought a universe or remote at Walmart or something

[00:29:43] I was like had it in his pocket for this game and and there was like 30 people in this common room If if you go down if you've been out of it, if you went to the Alabama You know it was down there downstairs and Burke

[00:29:57] But it was the west side. It was all yeah, it was the bottom floor is the opposite side of the wing place Yeah, yeah, yeah, and it was just it was like this record

[00:30:09] I had like a pool table like a ping pong table on the back there and I had this big screen TV Yeah, and so it was where but for big game so a bunch of people go down there, you know

[00:30:19] It was a Florida album game. I remember that because I think it was one of the Caussons that kicked I think he kicked I think Auburn upset Florida I remember that so pissed oh yeah, I'll both Steve and Florida They're quite a fan still not even

[00:30:48] Yeah, that dude I don't remember that dude. I know he talked about He we were all and it was late in the game. It wasn't like he changed it during a commercial in the second quarter Touch time It's time It's the game

[00:31:06] The game go on not even a commercial and all of a sudden the TV switches over to the world series I think big a fan but again angels and giants no one in Tuscaloos Alabama gave a fuck

[00:31:18] And we everybody and there's like oh what the fuck turns round and he's got his remote trying to hide it We're like now what the fuck you don't turn it back I Remember that dude he used to

[00:31:35] Catch him walk him back from the skyline Walmart would like 20 bags in each hand and he was killing it He was amazing It's a different guy Today Yeah You do know where you are Good thing you're wet in the family

[00:32:05] Good thing he turned it right back. I will say that once there was an uproar He flipped the right back. He had realized his mistake and And you know this was early self-homage so you know he was maybe just checking the score but still Wait till a commercial

[00:32:21] You know I think it was a fact to nobody knew he had to remote you know That was the fucking spot and just change the ride Oh, man Yeah, that's a good one Does I know I'm trying to remember I know some other crazy

[00:32:44] Memories I know like after school You know we had one with It was like me and they are boy Brett I And some people from work When we when we worked at the palm of the after college and

[00:33:03] There's this one play. I used to piss bread office hilarious I we were doing dynasty you know now I was starting at a I was at Rutgers so when this was May you struck us yeah, it was big East records. It was right around

[00:33:21] I want to say it might have been like right after like Ray Rice and those years you know when they were to get those big upsets Yeah, but they weren't that good in the game by the the point that we were in the dynasty because you know

[00:33:34] I probably started somewhere even smaller Took the Rutgers job to get up And so that you know I was trying to build them up. They weren't as good Brett had moved on no better school. I forget where you know flutter something like that Texas something like that

[00:33:51] You know, maybe not even that big but he had a decent squad you know solid squad And it was my first year Rutgers but I'm recruiting that somehow man's you get this five star receiver

[00:34:00] Oh, he was like a Randy Mollster. He was like six-sick you know his big dude fast There's this one play in the game. It was a receiver pass and like it would start this receiver would

[00:34:13] It was like a double pass a receiver were going motion from right to left The quarterback would throw him a backwards pass. He would catch it and then he would hit you would hit the receiver on the

[00:34:23] Lessod just did a fly around just a streak and it was money every time It never failed Every time that that receiver went motion that first passed a corner back a bit no matter what he did

[00:34:37] And it was just a wide open touchdown or at least a big play every time And it used to piss Brett also much as hilarious and he started yelling at the TV's like Pass pass pass Oh, but I think was they had a couple

[00:34:53] Similar uh plays with the similar motion but wasn't the same thing so it was like one was like a little fake pass hand off And one was just like a slant to the other side of something like that

[00:35:03] Man he used to get so pissed. I did run that play A few of face to the rest That was the best part of those games. Those little things like that The hilarious of the other you know

[00:35:26] Two two dudes playing and the other five of us in the room or whatever laughing our ass is off watching commentary Especially when they were with you to the class part of the game good It's me intense Yeah, seriously, but uh So it was fun and uh

[00:35:49] I will say it's good that a new generation of college kids gets to play It's it's awesome that players get to see themselves in the game That is cool

[00:35:59] There is going to be I think they're gonna miss out a little bit. I mean you can still do don't see some person but with online and all that

[00:36:06] I think they're gonna college kids at least you know go miss out a little bit on that like what we were just talking about having you know 80 or buddies in the room just like yeah Played some

[00:36:20] Yeah, and that's that some pressure on too is one thing you just like oh yeah Me and Greg got to play this week. So yeah, we're gonna We got we got one a clock class together so after that's over will knock it out

[00:36:30] You know, but when you got yeah get those and deceased in those big games or something like that everybody's on Judging every call you play call. Yeah, every play call. Yeah, right getting hot every play call you make a Not a major over the past

[00:36:50] You just see X was wide open Oh, that he said hey that shit in the middle play. Why why why might they don't help them don't help Yeah, yeah, you think if I did sorry X you don't think I want to do it to X

[00:37:45] And then you're like oh it's almost here and then all of a sudden everybody's talking about it Fall camp would start and then it was here. You know See media days The football drop and it's a map

[00:38:05] For me there season and the fish would be kind of we were to right Yeah, yeah Speaking of media days. I guess we can move on touch on a couple other things Really kind of I guess a tame media days Real big you know first official Yeah first

[00:38:29] They the biggest thing was just how Nick's Nick's even kind of stole the show Yeah, right has some press of his What is commentary and I think also people were just amazed that he just stayed for all all the days Really involved on everybody expecting the be as

[00:38:49] You know hands on it He would I mean anything to really enjoy I mean it's got to be a lot Be weird to him by the same time and still You know this nice I mean he just talked about football no pressure on him You know, yeah

[00:39:10] Yeah, and we we've known it for a while now ever since he started making those appearances and You know title game Those were years when we weren't playing title game. Remember him but like oh man next happens actually really good at this

[00:39:24] Yeah, you really use I mean a lot of insight He says it on a way that Not the most insightful you would understand You know I think it's awesome You know there's always gonna be haters and you know Nick's David early in his career sure, you know

[00:39:43] He earned some of it with you know the I will not coach it Alabama and then you know, but he's come out and admitted that was a mistake and you know He's softened up in later years and I think people are starting to see aside of them

[00:40:47] You know like with his and I all comments what a couple summers ago and everyone like oh Well, he's just mad at America. They're both cartoon. Yeah now now he can't cheat to get the players It's like all right first of all if we cheated

[00:47:28] Basically like as message was just like hey wake up every day laugh hard and joy life You know But yeah, no, I have renowned again. I'll catch like a college picture mean That's the one with a half or a wife Yeah, but how one at some point

[00:51:05] We talked about that last episode it looked like it was pretty much one and it was coming Let's see Jacobi Jones will sad news Jacobi Jones former Texans Ravens receive here a big big time player in the Ravens Super Bowl run in 2012 passed away um

[00:51:27] I don't think was there even a cause of death release I don't know and this thing I need just one in the sleep Yeah, I think just kind of the other unexpected No died in the sleep last Sunday morning 40 years old

[00:51:49] Yeah, like I said a Ravens Texans player as a return specialist just an absolute speedster New Orleans guy or a girl not but good guy by all accounts yeah a very great human being really active in the community like said group new ones from the area

[00:52:10] helped out a lot there helped out a lot in Baltimore and Houston um like I said as far as the player Jacobi Jones always have a spot in the hearts of Ravens fans for his play in 2012 particularly play off run of course he's the

[00:52:26] the receiver that caught the mile high miracle from Joe Flacco had a huge receiving touchdown and a kick return touchdown in the Super Bowl in there probably could have won uh come into be at that game yeah I think uh did Ray in up getting under Joe Flacco

[00:52:46] one of him Joe Flacco off was it right I can't remember he Ray won the first time I look that up now uh yeah this is retirement um no it was Joe yeah Joe didn't want to be yeah

[00:53:06] I'm not in he probably earned it too you know he that that playoff run was just out the loop this way that's like I'm not being my one yeah never quite never touched never really touched it again but um

[00:53:21] no he did have as statistically his best year a couple of seasons later I went on all right well it's his face Garrett could be act became the offence coordinator yeah really just bought out that offence but yeah no um so Jacobi

[00:53:43] Jones you know hard to go out the his family of course sad loss sort of football other Ravens related stuff Eddie Jackson signs of the Ravens um good pick up for them you know it's a little past his pride now and some injuries

[00:54:01] slowed him down a past couple of seasons but absolute amazing player at Alabama uh the middle elastic aid and uh two time pro wall or really solid up there for bears yeah yeah yeah and he will um that's a guy that you know

[00:54:23] they of course they already have you know Marcus Freeman and then Kyle Hamilton but the ad him to that safety cord gives you some depth and the ability to hold it yeah some

[00:54:34] non-geny ability to move guys around you know you can move Hamilton down you know on the slaughter moving down close to line to play the run and he Jackson's always been a great kind of

[00:54:43] free safety like uh or uh center filter type free safety you know in the vein of you know at Reed kind of that similar style just let him kind of round this the outfit plane yeah

[00:54:57] absolute ball hawking guy that can make a play with his feet if he gets the ball former Raven and Dolphin and Cardinal and Raider bounced around but Kenney Drake announced his retirement yeah solid career you know nothing spectacular you'll always have

[00:55:19] that play for the Dolphins that lateral crazy uh last minute play that knocked New England out of a one seed and yeah um well he played through it a solid yeah yeah nothing yeah

[00:55:42] nothing to be ashamed of course you know it's pro career never match the heights of his college career which uh Alabama fans you know big fond memories of course the huge kick

[00:55:53] return and the title game against Climbs in oh yeah big ton plays with his feet throughout his career just so fast yeah it was a high level you just you always have a ability

[00:56:10] in New England second it's taken take it to the house mm-hmm I just had some unfortunate injury luck and his career you know that's why that that kick return too is such a great memory for

[00:56:20] so many Alabama fans because he had battled a broken leg you know it was coming back from like a broken leg and had a broken wrist at one point in his career just these big time injuries and

[00:56:31] he uh battled through him and that was such a uh now with a grandstand and that game it was huge in the sense of the game and also huge and like an emotional you four almost

[00:56:45] him getting that corner but uh so that happened this week uh and that's actually that's all I'm gonna say I have for anything to happen this week of course we had the majorly

[00:56:59] baseball all star game in home run Derby um A.L. wins again man and it's in our lifetime the A.L. has just dominated this series absolutely dominated um it's kind of why that was a case but

[00:57:15] in its weird I think uh I think maybe all time the uh the the nationally might actually still have to lead somehow which is crazy man this and see me yeah since we were low kids it's in my

[00:57:28] American League off in the world parents. They have been well yeah one side no yeah they had that huge streak in what the 90s and 2000s where they they one like 12 on a row or something ridiculous

[00:57:49] but yeah if you look in our lifetime yeah they have just dominated it I mean from let's see if we count and start in 1984 let's have a national win so get one two three four

[00:58:04] five six seven eight 10 so in our 40 years on their if they've won the national league it's only one ten times wow yeah so it's true you got a thing of a fine one did lastly players have come to

[00:58:25] them and all I mean yeah I mean look at this so the nationally one three and a row in 94 95 96 and then they didn't win another all star game in 2010 that means they had Barry Bonds

[00:58:43] during the absolute peak of his career kind of win one you know Sammy Sosa during the peak is Chris Martin McGuire all those guys like that all those great pictures you know Randy Jennings

[00:58:53] all the brave brave yeah that's just why I think about when the all star game one three in a row in 2010 to 11 12 and then lost another like 10 9 10 in a row just crazy actually all so all time it's actually 48 to 44 in favor of the American League

[00:59:26] you're thinking what for some point in nationally really would weigh ahead yeah right so they must dominated early on before we were born to do nationally in the series but um it's fun of course let's see you know I've talked about and it's it's in it

[00:59:46] land a next year so I think I've talked to the couple friends about and be cool to try to get to that I don't know how much all star game tickets are at least maybe go see the home run Derby that big

[01:00:01] yeah that's probably my favorite part of it is all yes what would you say that uh is the home run Derby the best all star related event in all of the sports to you or is that

[01:00:16] three-point or don't contest maybe not a thick I'm at a post about it uh I don't know I think I when I was a kid I really liked the dot com you know again well I don't know I like the three-point

[01:00:36] content about yeah yeah the rule change is like it's whatever yeah but it's a good contest no yes always fun it's it's a good to get show and and some big names still do it you know so yeah that's

[01:00:59] so that's the beauty of it yeah stars getting there and so it's man when they get on my man it's so well watch when they start dropping late five six seven eight and a round

[01:01:11] the bottom just bombs too and then they make it look effortless um yeah because then you have to think man I think oh no you're on me yeah but uh yeah they make a look effortless of course

[01:01:35] this year's version one by TASCO Hernandez the Bobby Witt Jr in the finals the all the such for the first time ever when um um crazy um I just wish the brace could do better man

[01:01:57] brace players never do good in that event you know we had our band the big bear Marcelo Zuna he couldn't even get out first round man kidding out first round yeah but um no yeah it's a fun event I'd like try to go

[01:02:18] it's it's exciting one like we said it still got you know brings out some of the bigger names it's fun it's kind of that it's very showy it's easy for the fans a digest you know

[01:02:34] yeah you know you know even in the um yeah yeah yeah um and now if the majorly baseball could just never do those all star uniforms again ever I would just just let

[01:02:54] me just go back to yeah yeah yeah yeah and that was so just I don't know yeah about those are so much better yeah just let them wear the team uniform

[01:03:10] darks for the road team whites for the home team you know yeah but that's that so now we're on the second half of the major league baseball season um trade deadline coming up yeah don't

[01:03:25] business picking up but uh anything else in the world sport you want to touch on before we go this week well I did have to I guess a little bit that I mean that I did also I gave him yeah that's

[01:03:36] you NBA team beat the Olympic team I mean I wanted to shot by that but I mean it's the toughest team to Olympic team will play yeah that's the one thing the women's game the international

[01:03:51] just has like a quite like the men's game when it comes to playing against the U.S. and uh snow we're near so it's great to have a easy easy run to another championship and that's been

[01:04:02] an impressive one of championships that was uh gonna tell you last 19th or reset or what I think the first triple double ever how I started game oh yeah yeah yeah that was pretty cool but yeah

[01:04:20] then that was just you know a lot of a lot of one five's night outside of a whole new grand and yeah it's gonna matter a lot of console ball yeah yeah a lot of console ball a lot of

[01:04:38] anticipated say yeah our next big things now in terms of sports we got the Olympics coming up this week in certain monies on Friday so yeah yeah so you know we'll get to see the start of those

[01:04:53] games fire and up like I mentioned that M.O.B. Trade deadline coming up soon but 10 days uh so yeah we're hitting that let kind of as you see me in the day now and the pandemic is this week

[01:05:07] a bit of a year yeah we'll have more and more you know college fall practice will start up we'll you'll start to see more college football previews online and on TV everybody I think two cents on yeah we'll figure out what schedule we can do ours

[01:05:30] I think the most interesting thing is you know just how motivated how many teams all you know I was a big thing too as you see me they just saw me how many

[01:05:45] SEC teams will make the playoff I think that would be a big big talking point for everybody you know with the SEC get five four five what do they think at that you know what would a big 12 get you

[01:05:58] know I mean that that'd be interesting out of that plays out as far as you know when you have a whole bunch of 10 and two teams you know who gets to who gets to push it's about you know the

[01:06:11] interests and all right yeah so that's what we got to look forward to um let's go ahead and call it a day Greg what has been done up actually do I even need to ask this week what's been done
