We're back!
Returning from our hiatus, we talk about what's going on in the sports world now -- NBA conference finals, Bama's softball's run to the Women's College World Series, NCAA baseball, Stanley Cup finals, a heartbreaking day for Braves fans -- and we try to cover everything we've missed since we last recorded, including the NFL draft, NBA playoffs, Alabama basketball's roster building, and more.
We hope we don't sound too rusty, but at least our connection this time around was a lot better than last time you heard us.

[00:00:00] Take Perjection
[00:00:33] We'll start with what's going on now and work our way back and hopefully we hit everything we need to hit.
[00:00:39] If not, we'll figure it out next week.
[00:00:42] But yeah, I guess let's start. You want to start NBA playoffs?
[00:00:47] Yeah, we can definitely start there.
[00:00:49] I'm about to say I know you're happy about it. Weston Conference Finals, Dallas, up 3-0.
[00:00:56] Up 3-0.
[00:00:58] As a Mavericks fan and then as a basketball fan, did you see it coming?
[00:01:03] Not 3-0. Definitely not 3-0.
[00:01:08] I was one that thought we could definitely win this series, but I thought for sure.
[00:01:17] Hopefully we stay on it, but let's take much more likely a six or seven game series.
[00:01:24] The Timberlake is a player.
[00:01:27] I mean, they beat what we all thought was the sure favorite coming off the West.
[00:01:33] And the Nuggets there, they were able to beat them last series.
[00:01:38] And Edwards has turned into that guy.
[00:01:45] And man, but just to have gone in there and got the two wins there in Minnesota.
[00:01:54] And then able to keep it going tonight there.
[00:01:58] Got down in the third quarter today, able to bounce back in the fourth.
[00:02:02] This is where Luca and Kyrie have turned into as a duo.
[00:02:07] That's everything we had hoped for when they brought Kyrie in last year.
[00:02:12] Maybe a year later, but hey, I'll take it.
[00:02:16] And what we had thought in the back last year.
[00:02:19] But man, they've taken to a different level.
[00:02:22] Just to be at this point is amazing.
[00:02:25] As a Mavs fan, it's been an up and down thing.
[00:02:31] It doesn't happen very often.
[00:02:34] We're just on the verge of just our third NBA Finals there.
[00:02:38] So I mean, it's sweet when it happens because it's not the most common thing.
[00:02:46] What to you is the difference in the Kyrie-Luca pair working this year as opposed to last year?
[00:02:55] You know, I think some of it's just the chemistry between them.
[00:03:02] They seem, I think I'm pretty close.
[00:03:04] They really seem to be on the same page.
[00:03:07] But it's also just what the Mavs did just after that trade deadline.
[00:03:13] I mean, we just did money in that trade deadline.
[00:03:16] Bringing in Gafford, bringing in, I can't think of his name right now, PJ from Charlotte.
[00:03:26] PJ Washington, yeah.
[00:03:28] PJ Washington definitely just turned our whole season around because up to that point, we were okay.
[00:03:35] But I mean, you know, at that point we weren't even, we may have been in an eight seat or playing type situation.
[00:03:42] Really not on the larger board anyway.
[00:03:45] And that really seemed to just completely change our season around.
[00:03:51] You know, this one from a team that now everybody really seems to have that confidence.
[00:03:57] I mean, they're playing good defense, clutch shots.
[00:04:00] I mean, it's just amazing what this team has turned into.
[00:04:05] You know, being a tough Clippers team and then being the number one seed out the west and now on the verge of possibly sweeping the Timberwolves.
[00:04:15] I mean, if someone had told me that that was where we would be, you know, I'd break out and tell them you're crazy.
[00:04:25] Crazy.
[00:04:29] But yeah, it's fun.
[00:04:30] It's been a good run.
[00:04:32] Hopefully we can continue it in the close stand.
[00:04:37] We don't want to give them any opportunity to get back to Minnesota.
[00:04:42] So hopefully we can close it out on Tuesday and have some time off before.
[00:04:48] Looks like it'll definitely be if we get there, it'll be Boston because you know, they're up 3-0 now as well.
[00:04:57] Say that for later.
[00:04:59] Got to stand up present and get that last win before we worry about anything else.
[00:05:04] Even though 3-0 is pretty almost definite, you know, closest guarantee in the NBA.
[00:05:12] So I'd say that one last one.
[00:05:15] I don't think it.
[00:05:16] No, yeah, no team has ever blown a 3-0 lead in the NBA playoffs.
[00:05:21] There was what a couple years ago in Boston came back from Miami and forced the game seven but did not win it.
[00:05:28] But there's been no, you know, Red Sox Yankees moment in the NBA.
[00:05:36] But yeah, I think you touched on it there.
[00:05:38] The additions, the trade line additions, PJ Washington.
[00:05:44] I think we should mention Daniel Gaffert too.
[00:05:47] He's been so huge inside.
[00:05:49] Really used because that allowed, you know, lively.
[00:05:54] We took a little off his plate as far as being the big man for him to come off the bench and just learn, you know.
[00:06:01] And I think he's going to turn to a much better player because of, you know, bringing in Gafford.
[00:06:08] So I mean, I know that, you know, that, you know, that, you know, that, you know, that, you know, that, you know, that team that would be, you know, this close to, you know, they worked well together and, you know, they really have a chemistry.
[00:06:35] The chemistry was, you know, seems very similar to what we did to the chemistry in 2011.
[00:06:47] Yeah.
[00:06:49] And kind of a similar build. You build around your stars, you get a bunch of role players to do their jobs and, you know, PJ Washington stepping up hitting threes, you know.
[00:06:59] Man, he's been clutch, especially that last series.
[00:07:04] So KC is so clutch and, you know, and just, you know, then, you know, and then look at what Kyrie, I mean, he's just changed his whole storyline.
[00:07:14] You know, coming into Dallas, you know, people said, oh, he's a, he's a counselor.
[00:07:18] He's a team locker room destroyer.
[00:07:22] I mean, you know, that was a thought after, you know, his tenure in Boston, if fair or not, he knows.
[00:07:30] But, you know, he's really changed his whole storyline.
[00:07:33] So it'll be, you know, definitely changes his legacy and it'd be fun to, you know, see him possibly going up against his old his old team there in Boston.
[00:07:45] I'm sure he would get a warm reception in the garden.
[00:07:54] Yes, speaking of those Celtics will switch over to the East now they up three of themselves on Indiana another another kind of upstart team to make it after knocking off the Knicks.
[00:08:08] It's been a good series.
[00:08:10] Yeah, even though it's three overtime game one Boston kind of, you know, easily won game two but then game three came back from 18 points down drew holiday gets a big steal to seal it.
[00:08:22] Right.
[00:08:23] And I mean, the other patients I mean you come here.
[00:08:26] There's no more victories and that's probably man you know when you see how the burns out you thinking man they're going to get.
[00:08:34] I mean, yeah, man, you almost feel bad.
[00:08:37] So many chances to win game one and game three.
[00:08:42] I mean, they can easily I mean just similar to my series I mean, it could very well be timber was up just like, I mean, it's just you know that's you know comes down to, you know, Boston they just clutch in there at the right moment I think some of that just, I mean, they've been there.
[00:09:01] They've been in this situation.
[00:09:03] You know before they're.
[00:09:06] So I mean they know what it takes to get to the NBA finals so some of that experience and now they just, you'd have to think though, you know, Boston doesn't want the championship this year I don't know if they ever will.
[00:09:22] Yeah, I was about to say they're they're kind of playing out their story on their own is trying to you know the Tatum and Brown combo is done well over the past what seven years or so but they never reached the championship.
[00:09:37] Yeah.
[00:09:38] Right.
[00:09:39] So,
[00:09:43] pressure there but I mean they've had, I mean they probably had somewhat of an easier run and you know, I mean they played the heat with Jimmy Butler, I mean they have no business.
[00:09:58] You know last series against Cleveland I mean, I don't think anybody expected Cleveland to give them too much of a thing just because I don't, I didn't think it was a good matchup but you know they've, they've had no business I mean it may not be the most dominating thing
[00:10:14] but they've done things when they've had to and then you know they're on the verge of, is this, they went in, what's your third NBA finals I believe.
[00:10:26] I mean you have to, I mean just you know the Celtics one of those franchises and just making the finals isn't good enough you know there's a few franchises like that of course so anything less than championship is considered a failure, and they're kind of that one of those NBA teams that fall into that area there so.
[00:10:49] But you know they've done what they needed to do and probably looking like a Mavs Celtics finals and that should be entertaining one.
[00:11:01] For sure I think,
[00:11:04] Like you said too, you know Kyrie going against his old team, Luka finally in the finals trying to submit his status as one of the you know premier players in basketball.
[00:11:14] The Tatum Brown combo trying to win their title, submit their status as kind of a dynamic duo.
[00:11:20] Boston just being Boston trying to add to its total.
[00:11:26] You know but like you said they both got to handle business first, Mavericks get game four at home, the Celtics still in Indiana for game four tomorrow night or two nights I guess as you listen to this on Monday.
[00:11:39] We'll record it late Sunday night here.
[00:11:42] Yeah, it's been any other thoughts on the playoffs as a whole so far any other stories you know the OKC or you know New York's run or anything jump out to you.
[00:11:53] You know I you know.
[00:11:56] It's been fun I mean you know the OKC series was lots of fun.
[00:12:02] You know and then the Knicks, Acer's I mean so 90ish you know to get that in the playoffs and there was a hell of a series and you hate it for it.
[00:12:13] You hate it for the Knicks that they you know just fell apart physically you know so many injuries over from there.
[00:12:21] Injuries and they were just you could just tell they were just tired.
[00:12:26] Do a lot I mean with Jalen Brunson, you know clearly have moved his status to superstar level with what he did this year.
[00:12:37] But you know continue with that same question just for.
[00:12:43] You know I guess it continues with the Knicks though me what what what could they do different to move on to the.
[00:12:51] You know to NBA finals I mean or do they have enough do they need to bring in somebody.
[00:12:58] And then you look at you know their coach you know that's his style.
[00:13:01] I mean his style that wears the players down so much you know we saw in Chicago with injuries we've seen it in New York with injuries you know.
[00:13:10] You know Tom Thibodeau style allow you to go an entire playoff season and you know with enough health to win a championship.
[00:13:21] You know so you know is a you know it's fun though I mean the Knicks were a fun scene to see you know the garden electric and playoff season.
[00:13:31] I mean you love to see it because you know we were used to it as kids but you know it's not something you see that often as adults.
[00:13:40] It was fun to see that.
[00:13:43] No yeah it was really cool to see that rejuvenated garden crowd or yeah Madison Square Garden crowd.
[00:13:52] The next year as like as 90s kids like we were the Knicks in the playoffs playing just hard basketballs you know something we got used to for a long time.
[00:14:04] Like you said I think the question they got to ask themselves is do they need to add some pieces here and there or do they just need to run it back and hope they stay healthy because you know alongside the guys that got hurt in this series of guys that they were missing even before you know like a Mitchell Robinson.
[00:14:21] You know they're missing their big men down low.
[00:14:25] So it's tough yeah but you it's be interesting all season see what they do.
[00:14:30] And then of course you look on the Western Conference and of course the biggest story of last round was Minnesota beating Denver.
[00:14:39] We had thought you know Denver is clearly the favorite to run it back.
[00:14:44] People in place you know are shocked and they lost three or four at home including their 20 point lead in game seven.
[00:14:53] I mean wow who would have thought that would happen.
[00:14:56] Yeah just amazing and those first two games Minnesota going up 2-0 and just that defense looked like Denver would never solve it and then Denver got their act together and then just a great series.
[00:15:09] Those are the conference semis you know the quarterfinals overall.
[00:15:14] Just a great round everywhere yeah like every series was great.
[00:15:20] I mean I think we had what three two seven game series the the Mads and Thunder went six close games as exciting series you know the Celtics are the only one you know they kind of blew out Cleveland there.
[00:15:34] Yeah speaking of teams it was.
[00:15:39] Yes I was going to say speaking of teams that probably I don't think the Cleveland team we see next year will be drastically different I think I think.
[00:15:47] Maybe Donovan Mitchell or Jared Allen I think there's going to be some pieces moving about.
[00:15:52] It will be interesting to see what they do with their coaching situation because you know they just got rid of got rid of but I'm like man it's nothing crazier than the NBA coaching carousel because there's just no patience in the NBA.
[00:16:08] I mean what did I mean realistically what did the Cleveland front office really think was going to be.
[00:16:16] Do we really do they think that if they had a different culture we're going to beat the Celtics team with that team.
[00:16:22] I mean I thought it was a great job you know I mean to get to that point I know it's about winning championships and sometimes at the same time you have to be realistic with where your franchise is at.
[00:16:35] You know what do they really think that that team was going to be the Celtics I mean was he done if he had you know was they are looking to get rid of him.
[00:16:48] Was that the final thing like wow I mean to two straight playoffs you know got a series win this year.
[00:16:59] I mean I don't know what you could have expected more from Bickerstaff.
[00:17:06] Yeah it was weird yeah to see the report too that you know he was too hands on during coaching or you know during practice it was weird.
[00:17:18] It's just funny how drastically different that franchise is with and without Lebron you know with Lebron it's like they have it together and then without them they're just they're like what the hell are you doing man.
[00:17:32] It's very I don't know it's very Browns-esque.
[00:17:37] Yeah very much so.
[00:17:40] But yeah.
[00:17:41] Out of them Lebron years it's like relax guys.
[00:17:45] Y'all are fine.
[00:17:50] But yeah I think elsewhere in the playoffs just to touch on a couple things.
[00:17:54] I think we all saw SGA become a bona fide superstar.
[00:18:00] Oh yeah.
[00:18:01] Absolutely and that's a team too with all the assets they have draft wise and young players.
[00:18:07] You got to think that maybe soon they're going to pull the trigger.
[00:18:11] Yeah they're going to be around for a while but you also got to think they might pull the trigger on like a big trade dad one more big piece because they're almost there.
[00:18:21] Yeah.
[00:18:22] They're real close.
[00:18:25] And just with what that franchise has done throughout the years I mean you got to think about I mean after losing you know KD won.
[00:18:33] You know that's for a mid you know a small city franchise for NBA levels I mean that's almost a killer.
[00:18:43] You know you lose Westbrook you lose KD and you don't even fall too hard.
[00:18:48] I mean you brought it you know before SGA really took over I mean they brought it in Chris Paul they made the playoffs.
[00:18:55] I mean that looked like that was never going to turn into anything.
[00:18:59] And then you know now SGA is a bona fide star.
[00:19:02] I mean their front office has done a hell of a job and then with all the drafts they have coming up and what they got in you know with the guys.
[00:19:12] Yeah.
[00:19:15] Yeah.
[00:19:16] They're in a good spot.
[00:19:19] For sure.
[00:19:21] Let's see elsewhere you know you got the Suns kind of flaming out T-Wolf just swept them.
[00:19:27] It'd be interesting to see what they do in the off season if they break it up or try to add some more.
[00:19:33] I think the Sixers might be at a crossroad.
[00:19:38] The Bucks same thing with them or you know were they healthy enough or do they just need to add some more pieces back around Yanis.
[00:19:45] Yeah.
[00:19:47] Then you got your young teams you know kind of like the magic you know good season for them.
[00:19:53] Yeah.
[00:19:54] Yeah, tough first round loss a seven game series against Cleveland but you know that's one of those maybe just more maturity.
[00:20:03] Clippers are another one of those older teams like is it.
[00:20:06] Do you break up the hard and Paul Kawhi thing.
[00:20:10] Do you run it back you know what do you do with that.
[00:20:14] You know my pelicans just a cool twist to fate that Zion is playing his best game as a professional in that play in game and then gets hurt with what four minutes ago after taking a lead or whatever.
[00:20:29] It's crazy.
[00:20:31] It's cool yeah but a lot of rumblings that maybe Brandon Ingram is on the block this summer or you know they may be CJ McCollum's you know time is up there.
[00:20:41] Be interesting to see what they do there and you know can they ever get a full healthy season as I mean right.
[00:20:47] This was it you know he played over 70 games this year.
[00:20:51] And then as I said in that play a game against the Lakers he was playing his best game as a pro it was right every every bit of potential that everyone saw in Zion was on display that game and just unfortunate you know tweak of the hamstring.
[00:21:06] Yeah, that's sports.
[00:21:08] Yeah, yeah, it can be cruel at times.
[00:21:12] And then you see what happens without them.
[00:21:15] A great game one against the thunder there but then they lost in the end you know speaking of teams that had 47 chances in the last couple minutes to win and just kind of do it and it seemed like that that just deflated them after that was an easy sweep for the thunder.
[00:21:31] Yeah, yeah.
[00:21:33] They have their game they definitely have game one.
[00:21:37] I thought I thought CJ taking that last shot I thought he hit it.
[00:21:42] Yeah, it's tough you know but uh, so yeah we're hitting that point we'll watch the rest of the conference finals and watch like you said what should be a really good NBA finals and then we move on the draft time and probably the least anticipated draft of all time released during our lifetime.
[00:22:02] Wow.
[00:22:06] You know I think the bigger the biggest drama is you know a couple days this next year's is coming back or not I think that's more of what I'm looking at that anything as far as the draft itself.
[00:22:19] Exactly.
[00:22:21] Three three day.
[00:22:23] 29th and yes it's working like he's probably going but you never know.
[00:22:29] It's weird you know because we see you know it's the weakest draft class in a while you know the Hawks got the number one pick in the lottery.
[00:22:37] It seems like yeah and like fans are like well okay cool.
[00:22:43] Speaking of trade.
[00:22:45] Yes, exactly like you know I've been reading and listen to some stuff and it's like people are quite like a number one pick this year to like having like the eighth or ninth bit and that that's crazy.
[00:22:58] Also, you know speaking of trade people you know some rumors that maybe trade young might be.
[00:23:03] Yeah, which is crazy.
[00:23:07] Yeah, crazy.
[00:23:09] Or maybe John DeJontae Murray back on the block.
[00:23:13] We'll see. Yeah, like you said that's a that's a good transition to, you know last time we talked Alabama had just lost to you con great final for run.
[00:23:24] They did everything they could. Of course, the big news, big news grant Nelson is back.
[00:23:33] Nelson's coming back with her rights was coming back.
[00:23:37] And you know and we did a big job in the transfer portal again.
[00:23:42] Outstanding outstanding additions in the transfer portal for Alabama.
[00:23:50] Trying to think of his name a young blood, the guy from usf conference or the year AC conference player the year it's close to native.
[00:24:00] Yeah, coming in and then the big man from Rutgers.
[00:24:06] Clifford.
[00:24:07] Yeah, I mean, average is almost three or four blocks a game, which is huge.
[00:24:14] That's the type of presence we need on the inside some of what we may have been the reason we didn't make a national championship game this year.
[00:24:21] You know just somewhere inside presence.
[00:24:24] That's huge. And of course, the transfer we took from Auburn, you know, you know, still a he's a five star guy.
[00:24:33] I'm sure you know, I mean, it sounds like things that sour there on the plains of Bruce.
[00:24:39] So the you know, to bring that in if he shines in Tuscaloosa, I'll sweet with that be but I mean, I mean, on paper, I mean, this is man.
[00:24:48] This is a very talented team. You know, we got the the Philbin dude.
[00:24:54] Reggie Williams going to Kansas. He's coming to Tuscaloosa now.
[00:25:00] So I mean, we're just in a great spot for basketball.
[00:25:04] I mean, if you know, Sears does come back, I mean, that'd be great.
[00:25:09] I mean, whether he does or doesn't mean we're still going to be in a great and, you know, a great spot.
[00:25:16] And, you know, with that, we'll see what this team will turn into.
[00:25:21] A lot of new faces again. But, you know, some some guys coming back, there's one to finish the story and win a national championship.
[00:25:29] So I mean, it's definitely an exciting time in Alabama basketball.
[00:25:34] Yeah, it's already stacking up like to be just a monster roster, even with, you know, the couple of the losses we did have, you know, Rylan Griffin.
[00:25:45] He went to Kansas himself. It was a shock. You figured he'd be definitely a starter next year, but
[00:25:52] you know, goodly best of luck to Rylan, you know, unless we run into the Jayhawks, you know.
[00:26:02] But yeah, like you said, we've added, you know, Cliff Omariwe.
[00:26:08] Big Clifford. You know, we added, like you said, what's it say, some Auburn Johnson or whatever.
[00:26:21] Lost two, is it Sam Walters did transfer out to Michigan, I think, because that where he went?
[00:26:26] Right, yeah, that's where he's going.
[00:26:27] That sounds right. But if Mark Sears comes back, it's probably the best roster in Alabama basketball history.
[00:26:39] Aiden Holloway, that's the guy from all of us.
[00:26:44] He's got three years.
[00:26:46] Yeah, and he's got a lot of time.
[00:26:49] We also got a guy from Pepperdine, Houston Millet, another perimeter guy.
[00:26:54] And of course we mentioned Chris Youngblood from South Florida who's like we said, that's an American Athletic Conference Player of the Year.
[00:27:02] And that's no small thing, you know, any conference.
[00:27:05] You know, it could have been the Ivy League if you get the Conference Player of the Year, you're getting a solid player.
[00:27:10] And a talented guy.
[00:27:12] And all seemingly guys that really fit into NATO's system and that's not even to speak of some of these high school commits we're getting.
[00:27:21] Yeah, yeah, man, yeah, what three? Two? McDonald's All-Americans.
[00:27:27] I mean, this is unprecedented for us.
[00:27:30] And then the other thing too, I mean, supposedly, you know, they say with Clifford that North Carolina offered like a couple million in, you know, no matter what the situation was for him to actually pick Alabama over to North Carolina to show you where we're in the basketball world.
[00:27:51] You know, people taking us serious.
[00:27:54] Yeah, exactly.
[00:27:55] No other time would you look and be me and people actually picking Alabama over North Carolina for basketball.
[00:28:03] That's crazy.
[00:28:05] It's amazing.
[00:28:06] We said it before that Nate Oates is the man and he's changed the culture of what we should do as a program.
[00:28:14] But yeah, you mentioned that we got, you know, two McDonald's All-Americans total of one five star three four stars, you know, Daring Reed, small four from Georgia, Aidan Cheryl, big man from Detroit, LeBaron Philon.
[00:28:28] He's a guy from Mobile that, you know, picked us over the Jayhawks and another guy, Nasir Cunningham from New Jersey.
[00:28:38] Another guy.
[00:28:40] Yeah, a lot of talent.
[00:28:43] So yeah, big things coming in.
[00:28:45] Like we said, it's a we'll know Wednesday if Mark Sears is going on the draft or if he's deciding to come back if maybe we've got that NIL offer right.
[00:28:55] But we know Nate Oates has come out and said, he said the what the decision is if he can get a guaranteed contract, you know, if he'll definitely make an NBA squad, then he's going to go.
[00:29:09] But if it's looking like there's no guarantee or maybe he might get a two way contract at best and he'll come back.
[00:29:17] I mean, either way, I mean, I mean, we arguably had the one of their greatest single seasons in Alabama basketball history.
[00:29:27] We've had a few recently, but I mean, just for the level he took the program and even more so especially just because, you know, there wasn't that, you know, there was we expected him to be good,
[00:29:40] but you didn't know how good he was going to be because he had been a guy before in Tuscaloosa and for him to just take over completely and be the leader that he was.
[00:29:49] I mean, I guess so many clutch threes and one of the most special single seasons in Tuscaloosa ever.
[00:29:59] So, you know, either way, I mean, it'd be epic to have him come back.
[00:30:04] But I mean, I understand you got to test those NBA waters at some point.
[00:30:09] And I said that there's a year to do it. This is definitely the year if there's any question because just yeah, just not to not the prettiest raf class ever on paper anyway.
[00:30:24] May better than we expect.
[00:30:27] I mean, my expectations are pretty low for this class from the from the star power, especially compared to last year.
[00:30:36] You know, there's all the hype of Wimby in this year.
[00:30:41] Yeah, yeah, it's looking like the guy that'll be number one, a French guy, Sarr, big man, defensive potential kind of on the Rudy Gobert level.
[00:30:53] But we'll see. Yeah, we'll see.
[00:30:59] I guess that's that's probably good on basketball. Moving on. We'll stay Alabama sports real quick.
[00:31:06] Big day for the girls at the softball team today.
[00:31:09] The softball team today.
[00:31:11] One this one this super regional Knoxville after blowing a late lead Friday in Game 1 they came back yesterday when a 14 inning game.
[00:31:23] You know, just for folks that don't follow softball they only play seven in and so that's 18. Yeah, that's two games. That's two games to get one in on the walk off.
[00:31:33] Walk off the bottom of the 14.
[00:31:36] And then today had a first inning grand slam to go up for nothing and then endured like almost a three hour in delay.
[00:31:46] And held on Tennessee was Tennessee at the bases loaded.
[00:31:52] Yeah, but Alabama hangs on unexpectedly make the World Series this year, you know, a team that yeah struggled a lot of times the 14 overall seed and a lot of people thought that that was generous that Alabama even got seeded
[00:32:05] this year in the regionals.
[00:32:07] Yeah, I mean it was a tougher season, you know, just, you know, the lot of the same issues showed up.
[00:32:17] You know, this is been a while since Alabama's had a consistent hitting and that was our biggest reason why, you know,
[00:32:26] never won a national championship.
[00:32:29] And without her this year, you know, it showed at times, you know, we didn't our pitching was good but I mean we didn't have the lids in there. So I mean it was, you know, we didn't win a lot of series this year, you know, first time under Patrick Murphy they didn't
[00:32:43] won under 500 in SEC play first round exit in the SEC tournament.
[00:32:49] And you have to, you know, I was shocked when they actually got a regional at home.
[00:32:55] But you know they won three there and then they under rolled against one of the best teams in America in Tennessee.
[00:33:05] And win in Knoxville and give Tennessee the sweetest part is give Tennessee their first SEC series loss of the season and the biggest series prior to the Cardinals series.
[00:33:17] I mean, it does be better than that.
[00:33:19] Yeah right. It's good to beat Tennessee in any sport.
[00:33:26] Especially you know they you know whooped us in the World Series last year in the opening game and so a good measure of payback.
[00:33:34] But Alabama definitely they're the lowest seed in the World Series run that off real quick.
[00:33:39] You got number one overall seed Texas against Stanford. These are all games starting Thursday, Texas against Stanford.
[00:33:47] They're the eighth seed, the four or five matchup Florida Oklahoma State.
[00:33:53] You got Oklahoma, you know the dynasty of college softball the two seed this year they'll face Tennessee Duke first ever World Series appearance for at the late late.
[00:34:03] So my winning ninth inning win against Mizzou today. I was crazy.
[00:34:12] Talk about an absolute rise of a program they've only had a softball program for seven years.
[00:34:17] So that's impressive stuff. Yeah for the blue devils and of course we get the tide.
[00:34:23] Our opening games is six seed UCLA.
[00:34:26] That's the first one 11 o'clock Central Time on Thursday morning.
[00:34:32] So should be fun. It's always college both you know the women's and the men's the college World Series always exciting.
[00:34:40] Yeah to watch and we'll see if the tides got some more miracles in them.
[00:34:45] Yeah, but you know so much of the basketball team you know going to the postseason kind of not looking the best and you know just take it to a different level at the right time there.
[00:34:56] You know I think this is the first time when that I think the fan base was starting to turn the heat up on Patrick Murphy himself you know just because you know it's some of those same issues.
[00:35:07] I think the ball gets a sleeve.
[00:35:10] The last people to the transfer for people wonder they may have this program added you know players I mean just they put in this epic epic job no matter what happens in the city.
[00:35:22] You know this is a special run for everything that they had in there this year.
[00:35:27] Kudos to them.
[00:35:30] On the baseball side on the guy's side disappointing into the regular season SEC you know lost the series to Auburn did win a nice last game but then I got the first game.
[00:35:45] First game single elimination loss against South Carolina.
[00:35:49] Yeah, but all by all accounts they will make a regional somewhere.
[00:35:57] There's like a three seed maybe four seed down there but hey, all you got to do is get in.
[00:36:03] Get in and you'll see.
[00:36:07] They've they announced the regional sites tonight.
[00:36:10] I'd be Georgia hosting in Athens course.
[00:36:13] So your host or Georgia, North Carolina, Virginia Clemson, Texas A&M Oregon State Arkansas, East Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, Oklahoma NC State UC Santa Barbara, Oklahoma State Florida State and Arizona.
[00:36:30] So, obviously Alabama won't be going to any of the SEC schools.
[00:36:36] So you figured maybe one of those ACC schools paired up against you know maybe UNC Virginia or Clemson.
[00:36:43] I've heard people they get Clemson or still water to.
[00:36:51] They announced that Monday morning at 11.
[00:36:57] So probably by the time I'll listen to this, it already be announced.
[00:37:03] You have to think we did enough to make a regional would have liked to have done better in the SEC tournament to possibly get a second year at home with the regional series at home like last year but you know what in the cards but
[00:37:18] Overall, I think this team was better because I didn't end like we wanted it to but throughout the year we didn't win the most series but I mean we I mean we did be Tennessee in a series we did be the Arkansas in a series I mean we you know we beat you know we didn't win the series but we beat you know A&M I mean we beat some good teams along the way.
[00:37:43] You know, I'd be interested to see what this is this team, you know puts on a little magic like they did last year.
[00:37:49] Make it to a super regional again.
[00:37:55] What this team wants to do. I mean there are teams that you know before that operating loss you know I was excited where this team was going but you know we'll see if they can rebound and yeah like you said once you're here.
[00:38:09] That's all that matters. It's a new season so
[00:38:15] Yeah, yeah.
[00:38:17] Get in and see what happens.
[00:38:19] Exactly.
[00:38:20] But either way.
[00:38:22] It's kind of what we've talked about in basketball making the second weekend every year.
[00:38:27] I think Alabama baseball is a program that should be making the NCAA tournament every year.
[00:38:33] When a long time without doing it you know I think they were consistently there when we were in school even hosted a super regional or two.
[00:38:41] We were decent when we were in school.
[00:38:44] We were pretty good.
[00:38:46] Yeah, but yeah after that they really fell off.
[00:38:52] Yeah, I had a couple, you know, regional appearances but yeah I mean last year was the most most noise we've made.
[00:39:04] Making that super regional before losing the Wake Forest.
[00:39:08] I mean, I think they're headed in the right direction. It's just a band. It's just hard to SEC is just such a such a gauntlet of a conference.
[00:39:29] I think we're headed in the right direction. It's just, you know, maybe we can have some people out there transfer portal not lose folks like we did last year.
[00:39:38] And we'll see what you know.
[00:39:42] We can make another super regional that will be huge when it's coming tough going on the road against the likes of maybe a Clemson or
[00:39:54] should have an opportunity so it'll be fun to see what they do with it.
[00:39:58] Yeah, you know this would make three out of four years in the NCAA tournament after six.
[00:40:06] So,
[00:40:09] on the right direction.
[00:40:10] Yeah, exactly going right direction it's something we should, you know, you got to start there you got to make it every year and then you can start expecting to get seeds and you know hosting super region.
[00:40:20] You know, just like basketball, you got to make it every year before you can make the second weekend.
[00:40:27] But, you know things looking up in Alabama sports, you know,
[00:40:32] it's been a, you know, fun, fun year I mean you got to think about it I mean maybe no national championships but I mean just to run and football, running basketball the softball run I mean we do know I can't say I watch a lot of Alabama
[00:40:50] I mean, you know, do one of the national championship and golf yesterday I mean,
[00:40:55] I mean, so I mean the, I mean, as a sports school in general I mean football school only but I mean we're showing up in a lot of different areas and we definitely turning into one of those schools that we should be on that level we're competing in a lot of different
[00:41:11] sports because we have the revenue and the passion of facilities to compete so you know it's good to see.
[00:41:22] Yeah, Alabama.
[00:41:26] And yeah tennis NCA tennis title yesterday that singles title.
[00:41:31] Yeah.
[00:41:33] Plan a sec.
[00:41:36] Press the golf golf team they think this championship start tomorrow.
[00:41:43] Track and field of course there in their gymnastics made what the super regionals or semi finals.
[00:41:51] We made it to. Well, I know we made it to the national championship we didn't make it to this to the final thing there but you know they consistently at least make it to the national championship location so I mean, man, it's, it's fun being Alabama
[00:42:11] sports fan.
[00:42:13] It is.
[00:42:16] Now, again, we implore you Mr Greg burn build our arena, please.
[00:42:21] Please keep it going.
[00:42:24] Yeah, we actually worked an event. The other night.
[00:42:27] One of the AL mama the NL collective and of course you know get our little talk with.
[00:42:34] Yeah, it was cool well you know, killing the board spoke Nate out spoke Greg burn spoke had a few of the football players there.
[00:42:43] Yeah, we had a little event you know, saw our old buddy putter.
[00:42:49] Well, yeah, yeah I don't know if he recognized me but I saw him from behind the bar he's the first one in the door.
[00:42:57] Interesting. There's a name from the past.
[00:43:00] Yeah, what a guy.
[00:43:02] But, um, yes.
[00:43:05] Yeah, it was just cool but it's funny you know they had the the West Regional Trophy there so that was cool to see.
[00:43:12] We know getting a little talk from a boss lady beforehand and just like hey you know be professional and don't ask the coaches for pictures are not here for us you know blah blah blah that kind of stuff.
[00:43:23] Which I'm okay you know I get it you know she's right but I'm like, I asked of course I'm like am I allowed to yell at the athletics director to build the arena.
[00:43:33] That's all I wanted to do.
[00:43:35] Greg, build the arena.
[00:43:38] Where's our arena.
[00:43:41] Yeah, like you said it's good time to be an Alabama sports fan so let's hope it continues.
[00:43:47] Let's see elsewhere in the world of sports.
[00:43:53] NFL draft that's what we've.
[00:43:56] We've been there.
[00:43:57] Yeah, it was a big event that we touched on of course Kayla Williams with number one to the Bears.
[00:44:05] Was it Jaden Daniels with number two right to the commanders.
[00:44:10] Drake may number three to the Patriots.
[00:44:17] You know it's kind of no I guess huge surprises I guess the biggest one actually knows Michael.
[00:44:24] Yeah, the Falcons taken Michael Pinnix and not that Pinnix doesn't deserve a first round look but that he was that high in that the Falcons took him just after signing Kirk Cousins this all season.
[00:44:36] Four years ago.
[00:44:38] Yeah, yeah.
[00:44:39] Yeah, this matter back up on my brief truck and.
[00:44:43] And decided to bring in that when I would assume taking them at eight is what you consider your future franchise quarterback so that'll be interesting y'all that plays out.
[00:44:56] Especially with some of the guys on the board you know there's you know alignment on the board.
[00:45:02] You know there was the Dallas Turner was there a lot of people all the mocks expected him to go there to right which you know there's a pass rush.
[00:45:11] There's a lot of needs.
[00:45:14] A lot of the defense of needs in Atlanta.
[00:45:18] I guess they thought if you're going to get your franchise guy you got to get them or you can.
[00:45:24] They thought that he was what they wanted but be interesting how that plays out because that's one of those decisions that's career definer.
[00:45:33] You know, turning what they like it'll be a lot ahead of be a new, new front office and not in four or five years.
[00:45:43] But, you know, yeah, very interesting.
[00:45:46] Yeah, so that's something to watch there.
[00:45:49] Other notable picks you know Marvin Harrison Jr went forth to the Cardinals to get Kyler Murray a big time weapon there.
[00:45:59] So you know good for them of course Jim Harbaugh a lot of eyes on him his first draft he picked offense alignment which you need to protect your your star.
[00:46:09] Of course you know see Brock Bowers went to Las Vegas.
[00:46:16] Bo Nicks drafted 12th by Denver another another kind of surprise.
[00:46:22] But, um, you know the Broncos maybe another team get their guy and maybe he might compete for the starting job right away.
[00:46:33] Well you know they do have, you know, the other two quarterbacks on the roster Jared Stidham and Zach Wilson so that's a, that sounds like they have a quarterback competition running.
[00:46:42] Yeah, they definitely do.
[00:46:45] We mentioned, yeah, we mentioned our boy Dallas Turner he fell all the way to 17th drafted by the Vikings and steel for them.
[00:46:55] Yeah, they're definitely the steel, you know, definitely with the top 10 for sure.
[00:47:00] I'm not a guy, but definitely.
[00:47:05] He's a top 10 talent for sure so.
[00:47:09] I see another Alabama guy tearing Arnold went to Detroit.
[00:47:13] Great pick for them add to that.
[00:47:15] Huge secondary.
[00:47:19] You know, as that culture joins former teammate Brian branch there.
[00:47:23] The second is nice.
[00:47:27] I mean, you know, so close to a Super Bowl.
[00:47:29] Super Bowl.
[00:47:30] I mean, they're, they're franchise that looks to be finally for the first time ever in the right direction from the long term.
[00:47:38] Yeah, and good for them.
[00:47:42] You see your Cowboys offense lineman Tyler Guyton from Oklahoma on the first round.
[00:47:48] Yeah, I mean we dropped we dropped well.
[00:47:52] We've, we've done good at dropped him showing the necessary needs.
[00:47:56] But once again, for us, it's that matter what we do till January.
[00:48:03] We could go cool 17 and that wouldn't.
[00:48:07] Yeah, it don't matter until you're playing on Super Sunday.
[00:48:12] You know my Ravens got Clemson cornerback Nate Wiggins first round I was hoping they'd grab Kool-Aid there but I've talked myself into him.
[00:48:20] I didn't really watch him much this year but some Deion Sanders comparisons anytime someone says that I'll pay attention.
[00:48:30] Yeah, he's definitely a speedster there.
[00:48:34] See another notable the Chiefs get Xavier worthy from Texas so it just says speedster to add to that receiving core.
[00:48:43] Crazy.
[00:48:44] Trying to look at what else happened second round.
[00:48:48] Let's see Florida State receiver Keon Coleman with the Buffalo.
[00:48:54] And then Chad McConkey Georgia's receiver went to the Chargers.
[00:49:00] So, that's interesting when they're trying to recoup from, you know, trading away all the receivers.
[00:49:07] Restarting their boy, our boy Kool-Aid did end up in New Orleans and I know some, a few Saints fans very excited about that.
[00:49:17] It's a heck of a secondary in New Orleans.
[00:49:19] Yeah, they're building that defense. They just need to write that offensive ship there.
[00:49:25] All right.
[00:49:29] Yeah anything else on the draft? Oh wait of course Alabama had Mr. Irrelevant this year, Jalen Key to the Jets.
[00:49:39] But anything on the draft or the NFL offseason you wanted to touch on real quick?
[00:49:45] Hmm, I'm trying to think. No, not too much.
[00:49:50] Yeah it's kind of like we said the Pinnix thing was the big surprise other than nothing huge no like gigantic trades.
[00:49:58] No.
[00:49:59] Nothing earth shattering really.
[00:50:01] No.
[00:50:05] I think Alabama got all their guys drafted that we expected to get drafted.
[00:50:10] Yep.
[00:50:13] Yeah, let's see. And that's kind of it for NFL you know no big, I don't think we've missed any huge like free agent things or anything.
[00:50:23] I can't think of anything.
[00:50:25] You know there was a whole, you know the cheese kicker you know but I think everybody said everything about that so far but he's a medium.
[00:50:35] I mean the Chiefs have had a crazy offseason with that and then you know receiver.
[00:50:43] Receiver.
[00:50:44] Receiver has had his issues so we'll see how that plays out but man you would hopefully he'll get it together because you got to think of him and Worthy, man that could be a crazy tournament if they get to play together.
[00:51:04] I think let's see.
[00:51:09] Did T Higgins officially asked for a trade am I right.
[00:51:13] He did.
[00:51:14] He did.
[00:51:15] Yeah, well.
[00:51:22] Be interesting Seattle please though.
[00:51:25] Yeah, just looking over some of the kind of news headlines, working back here.
[00:51:33] Dan Campbell lines coach actually said that Jameson Williams was the most improved player at the Lions OTA so that's something to look out for.
[00:51:42] That is, you know if he can get back to his, you know, Alabama form that's just another addition for that offense.
[00:51:51] Yeah, you saw glimpses.
[00:51:55] You've seen it a couple of times but man, they can consistently get there.
[00:51:59] Man that, that Lions scene, they're definitely ones that they're, they built, you know they built right, you know, and they're on the verge of greatness.
[00:52:12] It'd be fun to see if they can continue.
[00:52:16] I'm so close to the Super Bowl this year and now they most of America behind their back, you know, have their back.
[00:52:22] We're definitely hoping they get there so I mean it'd be interesting to see but now the thing is people are going to expect things from them.
[00:52:31] And when you know that's a difference between good and great teams is once expectations come about, you know, what do you do with that.
[00:52:40] So, we'll see what they do.
[00:52:46] Yeah, let's see moving on.
[00:52:50] Baseball you know it's turning along. Of course some horrible news for Braves fans today.
[00:52:56] Kunia Jr tore his ACL, not the same one he tore two years ago the other knee now so he is done for the year.
[00:53:07] A rough time for the Braves, you know, relative to expectations, you know, they're still, you know, just second place with the Phillies have been surging so you know, these are now what six games behind them in the NLE stone.
[00:53:21] I believe the Braves still would be the top wild card but it's tough you know they lost Spencer Strider for the year early they Sean Murphy went on the DL after opening day and he hasn't come back Austin Riley's been hurt past week or so.
[00:53:36] So, you know a little bit of rough times and of course losing the Iranian MVP even though he wasn't having that great of a year yet he was, you know, started off cold but he was kind of potential.
[00:53:51] We're not even to June yet.
[00:53:54] Yeah, exactly.
[00:53:55] So, when you time to turn it on and you hate to see it.
[00:53:59] And like that I mean that's just one of those cool moments in sports.
[00:54:06] Yeah, just was just turning and going back to second base you know just.
[00:54:12] And it really sucks because after you read the immediate postgame stuff he said you know it felt like when he sprained his knee in 2018 he didn't feel any pop or anything he limped off on his own power and then they do the MRI and complete tears so
[00:54:28] that's the thing with ACLs is you know sometimes you know right away that this torn and other times you know people walk off and then don't necessarily think of the ACL tear until they asked you know get that MRI.
[00:54:42] Yeah, am I remembering right did you tear one in high school.
[00:54:46] That's where my twice.
[00:54:50] Once I was in wrestling practice.
[00:54:55] That time I knew something was wrong. That time I just playing basketball my friends out so that time I felt a little pain but I was like, not that bad one like a week and then wouldn't get better.
[00:55:08] So then I went to the doctor.
[00:55:12] I wasn't nearly as bad as the first time, but the first time I just, I tried to get up and just fell right back out.
[00:55:20] Oh no.
[00:55:22] Same me.
[00:55:24] Yeah, same me.
[00:55:26] Yeah, so that's into my legendary sports career.
[00:55:32] And in my pro dreams. Yeah, what could have been what could have been.
[00:55:39] Let's see what else. Your Yanks doing pretty good.
[00:55:43] Oh, the real deal so far, we can lock them up. They've been hitting home runs crazy this year.
[00:55:54] Of course so now, when Yankees not understand healthy and getting folks back you know eventually.
[00:56:03] You're telling me about the home runs man dude I'm playing a fantasy this week's got Aaron judge he lit my.
[00:56:10] And Jones and judge has been crazy.
[00:56:14] Looks like Giancarlo Stanton might be getting going to and that's just bad news for the rest of AL.
[00:56:22] Hopefully he can stay healthy, if he could ever have a healthier season.
[00:56:27] You know it's been a great start you know a lot of questions come into the season, you know after last year's debacle of the season.
[00:56:37] I mean, it's been good so far but you know you're still in May so I just hope the injury bug stays away.
[00:56:44] Honestly you know how you know I don't why I was you know a couple games a week but you know to the NBA finals after that you know you were at that point you know baseball's kind of it.
[00:57:04] And you really start to watch I can't say I watched a lot of baseball but man whether what I watch you know there's a lot of young stars out there.
[00:57:18] You know it'll be interesting seasons.
[00:57:21] Yeah.
[00:57:22] Um, let's see elsewhere in the world of sports Manchester City won their fourth straight Premier League title first ever English team to do that.
[00:57:39] Yeah, it's something about course now coming up soon the course they have their day in court against all the financial misconduct allegations.
[00:57:48] Be interested to see what happens there because soccer history has really.
[00:57:53] They're not afraid to knock a team down at the level.
[00:57:59] So we'll see.
[00:58:05] Just had something in my head oh German soccer buyer labor cousin finished a season unbeaten and German play a great feat, and they almost did it they lost in the, the Europa League final and then I believe they actually lost the
[00:58:26] German Cup finals well so they didn't get the, the complete unbeaten season as it were. No they did win the, the German Cup so only one loss on the season as a whole.
[00:58:43] They won their. Yes, it's insane. Just in the way they did it to just an absolute beautiful style of soccer.
[00:58:51] The club's first ever Bundesliga championship do I believe.
[00:58:59] So and then, and maybe even the biggest win is actually their coach, Shabby Alonzo not going anywhere.
[00:59:08] He is turned down offers from Bayern Munich and a couple other big clubs to stay and coach at Leverkusen so good for them. Yeah, yeah.
[00:59:19] Of course, elsewhere soccer Juergen Klopp Serene and Liverpool came to an end.
[00:59:25] One, you know when the team's first title since the 90s huge really kind of rejuvenated that club.
[00:59:34] So yeah, I think just the Champions League final coming up on June 1 between Berlusher Dortmund and Real Madrid.
[00:59:43] Of course they're always there seems like right now with.
[00:59:48] We got the, the European championships coming up this summer the euros which are always a fun watch always good.
[00:59:56] Great tournament. And of course, Paris Olympics Summer Olympics coming up this summer.
[01:00:03] Stanley Cup finals or Stanley Cup playoffs going on right now.
[01:00:10] Let's see what is going on right now. Where are we?
[01:00:13] Stars and, stars and, and that one summer conference finals so another Dallas team.
[01:00:20] One run right now with the, and then in the East with the Rangers and the Panthers.
[01:00:31] Yeah, it looks like a bunch of teams going for their first titles in a while.
[01:00:39] Let's see.
[01:00:41] Actually at the Panthers everyone the title feel like they have.
[01:00:44] I know it would be what the stars first title since 99 99 that the Bret Hull year.
[01:00:54] Yeah.
[01:00:56] See the Oilers I don't think they've won a title since.
[01:01:04] It's been forever.
[01:01:06] It's been a long time.
[01:01:08] I mean, there.
[01:01:10] And just that atmosphere though when when Canadian teams in the playoffs and that's something that's something.
[01:01:18] That's something like it's something about like watching even if you don't know what you're really looking at her man play playoff hockey is special like it's fun to watch.
[01:01:31] Yeah, yeah would be the yeah the last round the Oilers in Vancouver the Canucks I was a great seven game series.
[01:01:38] Yeah, yeah I've often said you know I grew up playing hockey I don't I don't have a team I follow anymore but I'll watch the NHL playoffs anytime they're always.
[01:01:49] Yeah, the great players going for their first title since the 8990 season, the days of Gretzky.
[01:01:56] Yeah.
[01:01:59] The Rangers I believe that first since.
[01:02:03] 94 the mark Messier team.
[01:02:06] Since then, all these teams have been to the Stanley Cup finals since then I don't think they've ever admitted made it and like oh six or something or maybe Florida, the Panthers just made a couple years ago.
[01:02:22] The Rangers made it about 10 years ago, lost to LA I think.
[01:02:31] Yeah, so that's fun times yeah especially once you start getting those overtime games there's maybe nothing more exciting in sports and overtime and playoff hockey game.
[01:02:41] It's tense man it's tense.
[01:02:45] It was a sudden death by that.
[01:02:50] Very intense.
[01:02:56] I'm not saying we're at the hour mark here anything we're missing here.
[01:03:01] Probably, yeah I guess the other big thing of course the role in the other day.
[01:03:07] Colleges cannot pay players.
[01:03:10] Yeah, yeah, that's a, that's probably could do a whole episode on that in itself.
[01:03:17] Landmark decision that that is and you know it just changes everything in sports.
[01:03:24] Yeah, it's a huge decision yeah maybe that's something we could touch on next week too.
[01:03:28] A little more in depth.
[01:03:30] We'll come back.
[01:03:34] Yeah, that changes everything with
[01:03:40] but changes completely.
[01:03:43] Yeah, like you said it's an absolute landmark decision changes in a yell.
[01:03:48] Yeah, we'll come back. We'll come back more in depth next week because we could really talk for a while about this right sure we'll need some material to
[01:03:59] make sure we fill some time but yeah absolutely huge question and we might even get some more news this week about how that looks.
[01:04:09] My biggest thing with that is you know with in schools, being able to pay themselves I mean you think eventually that leads to salary caps, you know, where does that go.
[01:04:22] Because I mean obviously certain programs aren't going to be able to hang with other programs.
[01:04:27] So, you know, does that.
[01:04:30] And then also, you know with what does that change scholarships does that you know I know that there's so much is, you know, going to change in the expectations you know your players don't live up to you know the pay you know, eventually will that be something
[01:04:48] that gets taken away.
[01:04:51] So, so many questions we have that will see over time.
[01:04:57] A lot of stuff.
[01:05:01] Sure.
[01:05:02] Yeah, we'll definitely come back to that next.
[01:05:06] And that kind of actually reminded me of another big big story for guys like us.
[01:05:12] The official trailer for the NCA or I guess the EA college football game came out last week this week.
[01:05:21] Yeah, it's been a long time coming in.
[01:05:27] I'll touch up on it again in my done up real good. I'll touch on it again but uh it's just it was a beautiful sight to behold.
[01:05:37] Probably the first time I've been excited for a game and I don't play a lot of games anymore.
[01:05:44] Man this will be one.
[01:05:47] You start looking at how many days the PTO do I.
[01:05:55] The events the wife to take a kid on the vacation for a couple days maybe.
[01:06:00] Yeah, just need a couple of days.
[01:06:02] Just a couple of days but uh I think that's it you know of course we see we had the Indy 500 finished today. Some guy want it.
[01:06:10] I don't know.
[01:06:12] It's a big event though.
[01:06:14] It is big event.
[01:06:16] The PGA championship last week.
[01:06:19] I think the bigger story was Scotty Scheffler getting arrested.
[01:06:22] Yeah, that was the biggest event of all week.
[01:06:28] Another shiny moment for the Louisville Police Department.
[01:06:33] Just yeah.
[01:06:37] And yeah, I think we've probably just about hit it all that we can remember anyway.
[01:06:44] Much as much as we have to cover to get it within an hour or 10 is pretty good.
[01:06:50] Yeah, that's pretty good for us.
[01:06:52] So yeah like we said next week of course we'll talk probably NBA finals will officially know our matchup then might talk you know a little bit more.
[01:07:02] You know what top women's college World Series we'll see the start of the men's NCAA tournament.
[01:07:10] And then we'll talk more in depth about the college.
[01:07:14] We'll kind of study up some and we'll answer we'll have some questions I guess about the NCAA.
[01:07:21] We're going to have a lot more questions than answers just because this is so new.
[01:07:27] I'm trying to be interesting what it turns into because obviously NIL has been a wild wild west.
[01:07:35] Nobody really knows where it's going.
[01:07:38] I'm just interested with school being able to pay themselves.
[01:07:41] What changes or anything or what happens going forward.
[01:07:46] Yeah.
[01:07:50] But yeah so let's go ahead get to the end for the first time in a good number of weeks.
[01:07:55] Grave, what has been done up real good for you?
[01:07:58] For me really good.
[01:08:00] You know just my kids daughter ended up the school year with man with like a 4.5 GPA.
[01:08:09] So she's that's just awesome.
[01:08:13] You know Tuesday my son he'll turn 10 and get into the double digits for the next 89 years.
[01:08:28] 4.5 GPA I don't know that might be higher than ours combined in college.
[01:08:33] Yeah.
[01:08:36] She's pretty impressive.
[01:08:41] So it'll be fine and only a freshman so I mean sky's the limit.
[01:08:46] Hopefully those scholarships and everything come through from many different areas.
[01:08:51] I mean I had a birthday this past Wednesday the big four myself.
[01:09:10] So you know it's I think we've talked about before it's the number doesn't bother me 40s whatever it's it's the thinking back on things you know like that was 15 years ago now you know.
[01:09:21] Yeah when you look at something like that one.
[01:09:25] That seemed like it was just a couple years ago.
[01:09:30] Yeah, it's good though.
[01:09:33] We're going to go to Atlanta this week to see a Braves game.
[01:09:37] Take the kids to the Georgia Aquarium.
[01:09:40] I'm sure he'll love that you know.
[01:09:44] So he'll have fun there and then.
[01:09:46] The wife you know the big present to me I got the new Xbox.
[01:09:51] So I will be able to play just in time already already got my pre order down for you know make sure I get my copy so that was a that was a big thing this week.
[01:10:04] That's the big thing too is you know back in the day we used to have to go you know.
[01:10:11] You have to go to get to a big night or whatever.
[01:10:15] We've been coming to your house.
[01:10:17] So there's no.
[01:10:20] Yeah.
[01:10:22] Yeah, I wonder if they are doing anything I actually did pre order a physical copy just to make sure I have it you know no.
[01:10:28] I just I just want to see it too but right now I'm not doing any midnight things I'll just go pick mine up.
[01:10:34] You know the right out.
[01:10:36] But I remember.
[01:10:39] Line and.
[01:10:42] Man you had to get there you know it was midnight but you had to get there about 10 o'clock.
[01:10:46] Yeah.
[01:10:52] That was.
[01:10:54] As one of the good things about going back to Baltimore in the summers is, I didn't really have to deal with that.
[01:11:01] Too much getting nobody cared about college football there so I got a stroll.
[01:11:04] I didn't have to pre order it I could just stroll in get the game and get it.
[01:11:08] Yeah, and that's the other thing too is you know with this and I am players are on the game.
[01:11:14] Think of all the time people spent putting rosters together or you know people would buy memory cards with with the rosters like it was intense.
[01:11:26] I did that.
[01:11:28] I sent mine out I don't think I had to pay except for like the shipping but I said I remember sending my memory card out to a dude and he'd send it back like a week later and had all the have on the night, all the people.
[01:11:39] Yeah, I saw them automatic play all the kids realize how great they have it.
[01:11:44] So much time.
[01:11:49] I saw a post this week that was like as like tweet or something it's like everyone under the age of 25 should have to manually enter all the names of the players they want, like, instead of being able to get on that.
[01:12:01] Oh, we have days.
[01:12:11] All I'm hoping for you know I don't I don't care nothing about ultimate team or online I just want that dynasty mode, and just let me change your conferences.
[01:12:21] Let me bring the beast back.
[01:12:25] Yeah, just the dynasty mode is something.
[01:12:29] Building, building small programs up moving to the bigger conferences and stuff so much fun.
[01:12:36] It's a blast but uh, that'll do it for us folks.
[01:12:41] Thank you for coming back.

[01:13:08] You know no blame in them on taking it down, get talking like a TV and movies. Boys at the Alabama slam, I think they got a big week coming up to pay reviews the WWE and the UW pay review to talk about playing soccer ball.
