[00:20:23] some sense maybe we get in the playoffs with those three losses but our quality of losses were not good

[00:27:14] right um one and back all those kind of things but maybe you can't do nine auto bids and just three

[00:27:22] maybe you could do a 14 or 16 team with that and then because then you still have seven at

[00:27:28] at large is and i just think if you're gonna do auto bids every conference should get one or you

[00:27:33] restructure fbs to where we only have you know five conferences or something right

[00:28:22] and they definitely should be a playoff team but you can't tell me that that based upon their

[00:28:30] their conference and what they want that they should have you know have it over like a texas

[00:28:37] even though texan have the best schedule we all know that they had easy road but i just uh just so

[00:28:45] that you know i just didn't think you know boise state you know mountain west and you know they they

[00:28:54] held their own they did what they needed to do but for them to be that high and arizona state to be that

[00:39:01] um and i'm not sure if they that they really ever played i don't know what the history is there

[00:39:06] but if they have played it's been quite some time because i don't remember a time when texas and

[00:39:11] clemson have played football so that's interesting um

[00:39:35] ohio state uh oregon in the second round right away is pretty wild

[00:41:27] it is kind of just the craziness of that conference that it's in an ironic way fitting

[00:41:47] that oklahoma state baylor big title game where uh oklahoma state fell a yard short

[00:42:09] doing about smu or alabama at the end of the day we're talking about the last team in so

[00:42:32] they're gonna make a run through you know penn state and then boise state and then probably georgia

[00:42:38] and then who knows probably not uh great story if it is cinderella stories do happen you know

[00:42:45] yeah but you know but i mean they've already achieved what they i mean overachieved yeah i mean

[00:42:53] and that's the one thing too that kills me when the people say oh smu schedule wasn't tough

[00:43:00] but let's remember they just moved up to the acc they came from the american

[00:43:07] and even though you look at it and say oh that's not a tough schedule compared to what they had in

[00:43:12] american year in year out it definitely is the acc is a step up above the american and for them to go

[00:43:19] undefeated in year one despite not playing clemson and oh they didn't play miami in the regular season

[00:43:24] but hell they you know they dominated a good louisville team they beat them handily on the road

[00:43:34] i mean they beat a solid duke team a nine and three duke team i mean

[00:43:39] and you know they at the time people were really high on pittsburgh and they came to town undefeated

[00:43:45] and the sb beat beat the brakes off them

[00:43:49] so i mean but i i get it their schedule wasn't the toughest but in retrospect they moved up

[00:43:56] uh a level and and still did what they did i mean that's that's impressive in the first year

[00:44:03] absolutely yeah um you know we talk about it often that uh it's a it's a shame it's not happening to big

[00:44:11] 12 um and what the hell was the big 12 doing not not going after them especially now but yeah right

[00:44:18] now we got all that craziness but yeah that you know after nebraska missouri left and they decided

[00:44:25] to just stick with 10 teams it's i still so stupid to me they did not immediately call houston and smu

[00:44:31] up and be like hey guys want to want to get the band back together yeah especially at that time you know

[00:44:37] smu wasn't on you know quite there yet but houston you know at that time man that was hot they were

[00:44:44] a good team and that was in the run when they had uh someone and a tom herman and they were winning bcs games

[00:44:50] and putting up points on any and everybody yeah but yeah i think no no yeah you know they finally got

[00:45:01] right with uh with uh you know they finally got right with bringing in houston and now the crazy

[00:45:10] thing is though you know for the longest it was the tcu was the you know the power in the metroplex

[00:45:16] so i mean it seemed right that at the time that you know that they did right bringing tcu into the big

[00:45:22] 12 finally uh but now you're like damn now smu's kind of taking over that whole that whole thing

[00:45:29] so it'll be interesting yeah you really hope that tcu steps up their game a little bit a solid season

[00:45:36] for them but um yeah you do hope they kind of step it up because that could have to be a real fun

[00:45:41] rivalry to actually have big you know right i mean every year right because it's a very i mean it's a very

[00:45:50] heated rivalry if you if you know anything about it i mean it it just doesn't have the national appeal

[00:45:56] but i mean anytime you're you can take a coach from one school and bring it to your school

[00:46:01] you know in the metroplex that's crazy because it'd be at the end of the day i mean they brought

[00:46:08] tcu brought the smu coach after you know and then went on to the play you know went on to the national

[00:46:14] title game with them yeah he's you know come down a little bit but i mean that's just crazy in the

[00:46:19] that'd be like alabama being in the same not you know as as big a rivalry but in a in a sense it'd

[00:46:27] be like if auburn you know uh took alabama coach and went on to the you know national championship game

[00:46:36] it's unthinkable to fans of those schools that they would ever jump ship and he was building

[00:46:42] something he was building something decent at smu when he jumped to tc yeah um and again you know

[00:46:50] you look at yeah um and also you know big 12 they yeah you know again that's again that's something

[00:46:58] they missed out on having that definitely yes what having that rivalry in conference having the

[00:47:03] budgeting you know smu we've been saying it for years you know smu's been wanting to spend money again

[00:47:08] and you know now they spend a bowl to get where they're at yeah yeah now that they can do it legally

[00:47:14] they're not going to get turned in and treated like a little the stepsister because they're not the

[00:47:20] the big bad you know texas or whatever the case is so yeah yeah so that'll be interesting but you know

[00:47:28] overall you know i think the playoff date they got the 12 right uh you know um there's gonna be some

[00:47:36] adjustments as far as i think how they seed the teams in the future yeah um and maybe they even

[00:47:42] do a reseed it you know if we go the nfl route eventually and do a reseed after the first round

[00:47:47] matchups to make sure that your number one team is playing which i think you know the worst team

[00:47:53] out there yeah every playoff every sport should do uh yeah always because there's no way actually

[00:47:59] yeah reward your your top seed yeah you know i mean origan the only team undefeated in all of

[00:48:06] college football but yeah their second their first round matchup is a doozy no matter which way it goes

[00:48:13] yeah um and that's not you know especially if there's some you know say smu beats penn state

[00:48:23] then orkin's still stuck playing the tennessee or ohio state instead of getting that 11 seed

[01:00:43] not quite yeah um it's close you know they had a good season kind of that navy stories came out of

[01:00:50] nowhere so right not a bad guess but not right on the acc i actually did have clemson so i actually

[01:00:59] got that one right of course you had miami uh which looked for a while like it would happen

[01:01:06] but it's just that syracuse should have been in the game yeah should have been in it um for our

[01:01:11] surprise teams remember we also did surprise teams and disappointments for the big conferences

[01:01:15] uh i gave us both a check mark uh i had georgia tech you had smu uh you nailed it obviously with smu

[01:01:23] uh and georgia tech you know you know good season yeah absolutely uh brent key again great coach for

[01:01:33] them and we both really nailed our disappointing team although i don't think either of us thought it

[01:01:38] would be quite this big of a disappointment but florida state uh if i remember our reasoning was

[01:01:45] basically just that they had nowhere to go but down after last season's you know great year and

[01:01:50] we thought maybe it was gonna be like seven and five six and six yeah i think probably we probably

[01:01:57] even talking not even that we probably were thinking like oh yeah it's probably like an eight and

[01:02:01] four nine and three season yeah not two and ten yeah uh big ten uh both a big old swing and a miss on

[01:02:11] our champ ohio state uh of course you know had they beat michigan they at least would have played in the

[01:02:16] title game again uh surprise team i had we both had nebraska yeah so that's it no yeah hey man when they

[01:02:26] were five and one it was looking good we looked smart for a little bit no you also had ruckers so

[01:02:33] you get two strikes for that strikes uh yeah not like the easy schedule and they still didn't do

[01:02:39] anything with it yeah no uh and then disappointment we both had michigan so yeah that's uh point there

[01:02:46] yeah i got a point there again they were no see that nowhere to go but down yeah but they ended up

[01:02:53] doing better than what we thought it based on how the season started yeah exactly hey they got another

[01:02:58] win over ohio state so they're seven and five good enough to play alabama in the roll the black west

[01:03:03] bowl there you go the big the the world famous black west bowl the big 12 though we get a another

[01:03:13] big old swing and a miss on our chance we both had utah um and that just did not happen no um for our

[01:03:22] surprise teams uh just and i don't think we get a check or a minus on this one i had tcu you had texas

[01:03:28] tech uh they both had kind of mediocre to yeah average to okay yeah seasons

[01:03:35] when they were all eight and four around there yeah eight and four seven and five which is

[01:03:41] okay yeah um you know obviously tcu if you know after being in the title game a couple years ago you

[01:03:47] want to get back to at least playing for big 12 titles but right um

[01:03:55] uh disappointing teams i had kansas state uh so again i just kind of i wouldn't call their season

[01:04:01] disappointment maybe for them and not wanting to i think they are disappointed in the fact that a lot

[01:04:09] of people have them and they're winning you know in their title game yeah so i get that yeah i don't

[01:04:41] yeah right so he's earned that right to uh you know turn that program around a program that he's really

[01:04:48] uh you know been the reason yeah he's been there forever that he they've had you know

[01:04:54] was an assistant under old les miles there and kept it going he took over after les miles huh

[01:04:59] yeah that was a long time ago last miles was instead of one geez right i'll forget that he was

[01:05:05] that's how he got made his name but uh so conference usa i actually nailed it i got uh did pick jacksonville

[01:05:26] ohio preseason boom called like that mountain west we both got it was kind of obvious uh boise state

[01:05:34] easy one there the sec i'm giving us both three for three on that we both had georgia as a champ

[01:05:42] um you know it's kind of one that's easy we both had florida as a surprise team and although

[01:05:46] it looked shaky that that november really did i think yeah i don't think people expected that so

[01:05:52] yeah uh for my disappointing team i had lsu and you had missouri and i think both

[01:06:04] lsu because of where they are as a program and they really some of the losses they had in the way

[01:06:08] they lost and they're good in missouri they had high expectations top 10 team

[01:06:12] and they got blown out in all their big games yeah and they never looked they never looked good

[01:06:19] this year no at all yeah so uh some belt we both had picked app state so that is a no

[01:06:28] uh disappointing year for them there

[01:06:34] and that's it for our conference titles i guess i can go

[01:09:59] this may not be the best carolina team but no time in life would i have thought that we have

[01:10:05] three straight wins over north carolina right if you had told us when we were in school there

[01:10:11] that we would go to chapel hill and dominate dominate the tar hills we would have been

[01:11:14] so that'll be an interesting one in tuscaloosa i think but saturday and that's our next game

[01:11:20] um so we get a little bit of time for that that you know that'll be kind of a revenge game because of

[01:11:24] course loss in omaha i won last year that mark sears three didn't quite go down

[01:11:31] at the brother last year a team that we cannot seem to get by in a few times that we've played

[01:11:36] them over the past no i mean for whatever reason yeah yeah we've also in the 2012 ncaa tournament

[01:11:42] got dominated uh in the nit and then you lost to him last year in a close one so hopefully we can

[01:11:48] finally get past them this year this week yeah um great great rebound win for the team after you

[01:11:53] know that this point we lost uh um absolutely but uh on the flip side some bad news lost latrell reitzel

[01:12:01] for the season uh with an injury you hate to see that you hate to see that just because well he brings

[01:12:07] on both sides of the ball and exactly shooting abilities his leadership but you know

[01:12:15] that's the one beauty of this team is we have depth um you know we were able to unredshirt uh

[01:12:24] um mallet from um the transfer from um i can't even think where he's from pepperdine i believe

[01:15:55] but yeah um the eagles win again but bryce young also looks good again uh panthers gave them more of

[01:16:03] a game than i'm sure a lot of people thought so yeah like again happy for bryce uh the vikings

[01:16:09] discovered rediscovered their mojo um yeah sam sam darnell went off on the falcons the falcons

[01:16:16] continue to slide now the falcons have lost the lead in the in the uh south the bucks have the lead

[01:21:28] now they're two behind uh and it just doesn't seem like the chiefs are going to lose the games necessary

[01:21:48] the browns texans steelers and broncos left so i don't really see two losses in there no maybe warrants

[01:29:39] give a shit yeah right now the rock the wrapping paper will be just as entertaining as the toys

[01:29:42] you know exactly yeah you know eventually you know just uh the joy of when you know he gets that big

[01:29:54] thinks it's from you guys or santa claus i mean either way he'll be thrilled so i mean just that joy

[01:29:59] that you get from that there's your experience it's just yeah it's just it's really i mean until you

[01:30:07] experience it it's just something it's just amazing so you'll you'll get there um and you know just uh

[01:30:13] as you get older just uh you know just spending time with folks because as we see as we're getting older

[01:30:20] you know you start realizing man you don't have as much time as sometimes you think so

[01:30:27] knows to be able to holiday season i think it was a good time reflection and just

[01:30:31] hey you know let's just enjoy the time and not rush stuff and now let's sit down and watch our

[01:30:36] you know christmas movie let's go look at lights or well you know little things that

[01:30:42] may be memorable uh for for the families so uh yeah no i'm definitely looking forward to that but it is

[01:30:50] funny you know at least to watch him now you know tear the paper out or he did that with something my

[01:30:55] dad got him for his birthday it was like this little four you know power wheel type four wheeler

[01:31:01] thing we put him on it and rolled him around a little bit and he kind of giggled thought it was funny

[01:31:06] but then he hopped off and climbed right in the box so oh yeah because that was way more exciting

[01:31:11] heck yeah exactly yeah it's a box some wild paper in a box and yeah i can get better no yeah it's uh

[01:31:17] we've done the other things you know my wife and i decided to start buying each other gifts again we

[01:31:21] kind of never used to do that um you know spent the money on like a vacation or something but right
