This week we try to have a positive outlook on the rest of the Alabama football season, while breaking down the big Georgia win at Texas, and action from around the country. We also discuss the NFL, the dream World Series for MLB, and the Liberty's first WNBA title.

[00:00:00] I would rather take projection.
[00:00:06] Welcome everybody to Takin On Sports. I am TD, that is Greg. Greg, I kind of already know the answer, but how you doing man?
[00:00:15] Man, I guess as good as you can do after such a trash Saturday.
[00:00:23] That's a good way to describe it, a trash Saturday.
[00:00:27] But we are here on Sunday night as usual. Right now we got a lot of good sports going on Sunday night.
[00:00:33] Football, the WNBA Finals is as we record in its last 5.2 seconds left.
[00:00:39] And then of course the Dodgers trying to put away the Mets.
[00:00:43] But yeah, it was, like you said, a trash Saturday for us at least.
[00:00:48] But we'll start, you know, I don't want to start with that game.
[00:00:51] We'll start with the big one, Georgia-Texas, how about that?
[00:00:56] But Georgia, it was a little bit, almost an inverse of the Georgia-Alabama game.
[00:01:01] Georgia, big halftime lead, 20-0, just dominating.
[00:01:05] You know, Quinn Ewers looked terrible, got benched.
[00:01:09] And then they kind of started putting it together in the second half, but Georgia kept them at Arden's length
[00:01:14] and, you know, did what Alabama didn't do in that game.
[00:01:20] You know, kept them at Arden's length and put them away in the end.
[00:01:24] Just outstanding performance by the Georgia defense.
[00:01:28] And we'll get to, I guess, the controversial call in a second.
[00:01:32] But great.
[00:01:32] What did you make of just Georgia's performance?
[00:01:35] You know, it was, you know, it was pretty, I mean, it was impressive.
[00:01:40] I mean, considering that, you know, he threw three, two interceptions in the first half
[00:01:47] and they're still up 20, with two or three interceptions, they're still able to get up 23-0 on the road
[00:01:54] against a team.
[00:01:55] Yeah, yes, they haven't played anybody, but they had done exactly what you're supposed to do
[00:01:58] against lesser opponents at that point.
[00:02:00] There was no question really going into that game about Texas, you know,
[00:02:04] and I think Georgia took that personally.
[00:02:07] I mean, Kirby's a master of, you know, if he feels disrespected, he's, you know,
[00:02:14] probably used up bulletin board material.
[00:02:16] He's gotten pretty good with it.
[00:02:18] And, you know, obviously they had a lot going into this game because, you know, you know,
[00:02:22] even I, I didn't think they were going to go in there.
[00:02:25] And winning Austin, you know, they've had some, they've been winning games,
[00:02:29] but it hasn't been what you expect from Georgia.
[00:02:31] You know, it gets flies to Auburn, Mississippi State, but, you know,
[00:02:36] they handled business last night and right back, right back in the hunt.
[00:02:41] Yeah, no, I, um, I agree.
[00:02:43] And, you know, up until yesterday, really, Texas has kind of been the only elite looking team.
[00:02:51] You know, Oregon took over the number one spot in eight people,
[00:02:54] but even they had a couple of those early games where they looked a little shaky.
[00:02:58] And, you know, so Texas was the closest thing we had to an elite team.
[00:03:02] And then Georgia, like, just came in and ended that.
[00:03:05] It's like you said, it's like they took it personally.
[00:03:08] Um, and yeah, just a great win for Georgia.
[00:03:11] Like you said, Kirby, you know, hell of a coach got his guys up.
[00:03:14] Um, and of course it's not the end of anything for Texas.
[00:03:18] These two can be in Atlanta.
[00:03:20] Um, wouldn't be surprised if they did, but, um, but yeah, just, uh,
[00:03:26] of course, uh, we talked about the controversial call.
[00:03:33] Um, so it was, it was a pass interference call on Texas on the interception, right?
[00:03:38] That, uh, you know, and the, it was real.
[00:03:45] I mean, yeah, it would have been a bad call.
[00:03:47] It wasn't pass interference.
[00:03:48] I don't think anyway.
[00:03:49] No, I mean, it was a bad call, but I've never, I think we're,
[00:03:53] we've never seen anything in overturn.
[00:03:55] Yeah.
[00:03:56] So then the Texas fans, the students just start pelt in the field with water bottles,
[00:04:01] you know, and whatever.
[00:04:03] And then they come back, they get that settled down, come back.
[00:04:06] And all of a sudden the officials overturn the call and pick up the flag.
[00:04:10] Now, the question is if the students hadn't thrown stuff, you know,
[00:04:14] where are they going to meet?
[00:04:15] Maybe, maybe one official kind of saw had a different angle and can't,
[00:04:19] you know, would they have huddled up?
[00:04:20] Cause that has happened.
[00:04:21] They've thrown a flag, they've huddled up and they picked up a flag before when
[00:04:24] one official might come in and be like, Hey man, no, he actually didn't.
[00:04:28] He didn't go through them.
[00:04:29] You know, it was a good play.
[00:04:30] Right.
[00:04:32] So, but of course, yeah, the way they did it,
[00:04:33] it became the talk of the town, almost like the student sections got.
[00:04:39] Anyone problems.
[00:04:41] Yeah.
[00:04:41] Yeah.
[00:04:41] Like they were just like, Oh no, excuse us.
[00:04:43] Like, no, you're right.
[00:04:45] That wasn't a flag.
[00:04:46] Of course that led to a Texas touchdown and Texas, you know,
[00:04:49] got, they were down what a score at that point.
[00:04:52] Yeah.
[00:04:52] It was a 23-15 at that point.
[00:04:54] So yeah.
[00:04:55] So yeah.
[00:04:57] But then like we said, Texas closed them out and did what great teams do.
[00:05:01] Yeah.
[00:05:03] And I do want to say after the game, Kirby, like I said, great coach, man.
[00:05:07] He's a whiny little, just he's a whiner, man.
[00:05:10] And that whole, his post game.
[00:05:12] Yeah.
[00:05:13] They tried, they tried to rob us.
[00:05:15] No one believed in us.
[00:05:16] I hate that.
[00:05:17] Can't stand that.
[00:05:17] I know it's better.
[00:05:19] Yeah.
[00:05:20] Yeah.
[00:05:20] I mean, it's cool in your locker room.
[00:05:22] I get it there.
[00:05:23] But dude, no, man, the probably does not feel bad for you, bro.
[00:05:29] Literally, Georgia, you've been, you won two out of three national titles.
[00:05:34] Could have easily been there last year.
[00:05:37] Yeah.
[00:05:38] For a third straight.
[00:05:39] Like, come on.
[00:05:39] It's ridiculous.
[00:05:40] Yeah.
[00:05:41] You have how many straight wins against non-Alabama teams?
[00:05:44] You know, what, 50 or something?
[00:05:45] Chill out, Kirby.
[00:05:47] No one.
[00:05:47] Yeah.
[00:05:48] And it's, it reeks of that.
[00:05:49] It's not quite on the same level or, you know, it's a different type of that.
[00:05:52] Dabo, oh shucks, little old Clemson.
[00:05:54] You know, look, you got an elite pro.
[00:05:56] You are one of the elite.
[00:05:58] There are five elite programs in the sport, if that, you know.
[00:06:01] Right.
[00:06:02] Truly at that level right now.
[00:06:04] And y'all are, you know, among the top, you know, if not the best one.
[00:06:08] If not the best, right.
[00:06:09] Yeah.
[00:06:10] So just chill out.
[00:06:12] Like, you know, be humble.
[00:06:13] There's a difference between being humble and just being a whiner.
[00:06:17] And everyone tried to rob you.
[00:06:20] And it's ridiculous.
[00:06:21] But, you know.
[00:06:22] No, go ahead.
[00:06:23] No, what I was going to say.
[00:06:25] And, you know, as far as that play both ways, I mean, I get why Texas would be pissed
[00:06:31] because it wasn't a good cause.
[00:06:33] See why Georgia's pissed because it's not normal to have something like that overturned.
[00:06:37] Especially in the circumstances where it looks like the students have some type of
[00:06:44] effect on it.
[00:06:45] But at the same time, man, with all this technology in today's world and all the things that get
[00:06:51] looked at, why can't we start looking at stuff like that just on a normal basis?
[00:06:56] Right.
[00:06:58] Mm-hmm.
[00:06:59] Yeah.
[00:07:00] Was it the NFL that did it a few years ago?
[00:07:02] They started reviewing past interference calls.
[00:07:04] And, yeah, it was in response to the Saints ramps.
[00:07:07] You don't need to do every one.
[00:07:08] But maybe let it challenge it.
[00:07:12] Like, let coaches be able to challenge it.
[00:07:14] I think that's a good.
[00:07:15] Yeah.
[00:07:15] At least have that opportunity.
[00:07:18] Because, I mean, if something terrible happens and it's blatantly one way or the other
[00:07:22] and it's not caught on the field, let's have a look there.
[00:07:27] And maybe, you know, maybe not even something that needs to be looked at.
[00:07:35] But, like, you know, those people watching, you know, you have your head, you know, the
[00:07:40] people, there's obviously people in booths watching and stuff, the conference people.
[00:07:45] If it's that egregious, maybe they can buzz in and say, hey, we might want to take a look
[00:07:49] at this.
[00:07:49] I don't know.
[00:07:51] Yeah.
[00:07:53] That's something, you know, that prevents this, you know, prevents this kind of thing.
[00:08:00] Exactly.
[00:08:01] But, yeah, like we said, good Georgia win.
[00:08:04] They, who do they have next?
[00:08:10] I don't even know.
[00:08:12] I don't know.
[00:08:15] They have the cocktail party, not until the 2nd of November next.
[00:08:19] So they're off.
[00:08:21] If they get a bye week, yeah, before that.
[00:08:23] And then they get a nice little stretch of games.
[00:08:26] You know, they come back, they get the cocktail party, then they go to Oxford, and then they
[00:08:30] host Tennessee.
[00:08:33] Interesting.
[00:08:34] Interesting stretch, nonetheless.
[00:08:37] And who knows about any of those opponents?
[00:08:39] Exactly.
[00:08:40] You know, we've talked about it.
[00:08:42] You know, who knows about anything this year in college football.
[00:08:46] And Texas, their next game next week, they travel to Nashville to face Vandy.
[00:08:52] Interesting.
[00:08:52] A number 25 Vandy.
[00:08:54] So, you know.
[00:08:54] Yeah.
[00:08:55] We'll see what happens there.
[00:08:57] Yeah.
[00:08:58] Vandy.
[00:09:01] That's crazy, though.
[00:09:03] Vandy.
[00:09:05] Army and Navy all ranked.
[00:09:07] Who would have ever thought all at the same time?
[00:09:09] All right.
[00:09:09] Indiana unbeaten.
[00:09:11] Indiana unbeaten.
[00:09:12] My goodness.
[00:09:13] Yeah.
[00:09:14] It's a crazy, crazy time that's going on.
[00:09:17] And college football.
[00:09:19] I guess we'll get to our game.
[00:09:21] Our stupid, ugly game.
[00:09:23] Third Saturday in October up in Nashville.
[00:09:25] Tennessee gets their second straight win at home in the series.
[00:09:30] Just a hideous game.
[00:09:32] Alabama, you know, one of the frustrations a lot of fans have is that, you know, Alabama can't play a complete game on both sides of the ball.
[00:09:43] Either the offense is struggling.
[00:09:44] Defense looks good or vice versa.
[00:09:46] And sure enough, first half yesterday, defense forced three turnovers.
[00:09:50] Amazing.
[00:09:51] Great.
[00:09:52] And then the offense couldn't capitalize.
[00:09:55] Zero points off those three turnovers.
[00:09:56] It should have been about 17 to nothing, 21, 24.
[00:10:01] Oh, yeah.
[00:10:01] 24 to nothing game at halftime.
[00:10:04] Alabama should have, you know, been able to come in the second half and just put it away.
[00:10:08] Yeah.
[00:10:10] Instead, it was only 7-0.
[00:10:11] Tennessee balled out in the second half.
[00:10:13] And now Alabama's offense, you know, had a couple drives that looked good.
[00:10:16] But overall, not a good game for the offense.
[00:10:19] Jayla Milrow, one of his worst, if not his worst game.
[00:10:23] Missed a lot of throws.
[00:10:25] A couple bad interceptions.
[00:10:27] Yeah.
[00:10:28] Coaches, I didn't think it was a well-called game at all.
[00:10:31] I hate those damn goal line fades.
[00:10:35] The only people that can run goal line fades are Florida quarterbacks from the 90s under Steve Spurrier.
[00:10:40] Because whatever he taught them, they threw it perfect.
[00:10:43] And then if you got Julio Jones or some Calvin Johnson type receiver out there, then you can throw it.
[00:10:50] But you got to throw a jump ball and let them go get it.
[00:10:53] Yeah.
[00:10:55] So, I hate that call.
[00:10:57] I know we got a touchdown on a similar play later in the game.
[00:11:00] But it's not really a strength of Jayla.
[00:11:02] So, throw that back shoulder.
[00:11:03] It's not in.
[00:11:06] Just take it out the damn playbook.
[00:11:08] I don't want to see it.
[00:11:08] Run the ball there.
[00:11:09] Run the damn ball.
[00:11:10] We got a touchdown second half around the same area.
[00:11:13] Exactly.
[00:11:14] You know.
[00:11:19] So.
[00:11:22] Yeah.
[00:11:23] It's an ugly game, like I said.
[00:11:25] I didn't enjoy it.
[00:11:25] Defense got tired in the second half.
[00:11:27] They did.
[00:11:28] Yeah.
[00:11:28] They got beat a lot in the first half, actually, too.
[00:11:30] They were just lucky that Nico was on target.
[00:11:35] Yeah.
[00:11:36] Yeah.
[00:11:37] I don't know.
[00:11:38] So, what do you think?
[00:11:39] You know, there's a lot of sentiment about Jalen.
[00:11:42] Maybe should.
[00:11:42] You know, I'm not in a crowd that says bench him.
[00:11:45] But do you think we need to at least think about looking at Ty Simpson?
[00:11:48] What are you thinking about the Boris by calling?
[00:11:50] You know, what's your status right now?
[00:11:52] You know, right now, I think it's – I don't – something's off with Jalen.
[00:11:59] I think it's something off with him.
[00:12:01] I don't know if it – maybe I'm wrong.
[00:12:04] But either something with him mentally, something with him he's hurt and he's not.
[00:12:11] Because a couple of things.
[00:12:12] I've noticed he's not really showing much joy.
[00:12:14] But, you know, he's a guy that always smiled up or down, always a rah-rah guy.
[00:12:20] I mean, yesterday he was on the bench sitting.
[00:12:23] He didn't run the ball very well.
[00:12:25] He was egregious passing even when Ryan Williams was wide open.
[00:12:28] I mean, he overthrew him terribly in the fourth quarter there.
[00:12:33] I don't know.
[00:12:34] I just feel like his confidence is shook.
[00:12:36] Something is going on with Jalen.
[00:12:37] I don't know if we'll ever know.
[00:12:39] But it doesn't seem like the same guy who even saw – it seems like the South Carolina game and this game, he just hasn't been Jalen at all.
[00:12:50] I don't know what's going on.
[00:12:52] Yeah, it's something weird has happened.
[00:12:55] And some of that is on the coaches, I think.
[00:12:57] Like I said, some of those play calls got to help them out better.
[00:12:59] They got to run the backs.
[00:13:00] They have to run the backs more, man.
[00:13:02] But –
[00:13:02] Right.
[00:13:03] And the other thing, we had the one – we had – you know, that one – we had the one drive where we ran the ball seven, eight times.
[00:13:12] One match game, but we're getting it, getting it.
[00:13:14] And then we got to that fourth and two and we punted the ball.
[00:13:16] I was like, what are we – why not?
[00:13:18] Why punt right there?
[00:13:19] I didn't understand that.
[00:13:23] Why are we going for it on fourth and 22 at the end there?
[00:13:26] Oh, my God.
[00:13:28] I mean, that was like something you would do if you were just playing a video.
[00:13:31] That was some video game stuff.
[00:13:32] Like when you were a kid, I'm going to go for it because why not?
[00:13:36] Yeah.
[00:13:37] And then it was a ridiculous play call.
[00:13:40] Like I understand maybe Ryan – but you expect a little Ryan Williams to make that block right there to –
[00:13:49] like I don't get it.
[00:13:54] But, you know, other thing though, when I think about the offense, the defense got tired in second half.
[00:14:02] But yeah, I never thought that this season that we'd see a time where 24 points was enough to beat this team.
[00:14:09] Oh, no, exactly.
[00:14:10] And all credit to the Tennessee defense.
[00:14:12] Yeah, I mean, Tennessee defense did an excellent –
[00:14:17] but no point should 24 points be enough to beat this team.
[00:14:22] I don't accept – I mean, we lost the game.
[00:14:24] Tennessee did what they needed to do to win the game.
[00:14:26] But it's just sickening that you get three turnovers and do nothing with those.
[00:14:31] Yeah, no, three field goals even.
[00:14:34] Three field goals you would have won the game.
[00:14:36] Yeah.
[00:14:37] I mean, they missed two field goals in the first half.
[00:14:41] Credit to the defense.
[00:14:43] You know, they missed – and then we got the three turnovers, did nothing with it.
[00:14:48] And even at the end, the defense still held on and gave them the three –
[00:14:54] and only let them get the field goal after those 4-22 craziness.
[00:14:59] And we had three chances at the end of the game to win or tie.
[00:15:04] And we blew all three chances.
[00:15:07] Didn't even come close to scoring.
[00:15:10] Just – it was just wild.
[00:15:11] Like, I don't understand.
[00:15:13] Yeah, after Tennessee took the lead, three and out, four and out, you know,
[00:15:20] that damn 4th and 22 screen, and then the interception on the first play
[00:15:24] after getting the ball back with a chance to tie at the end there.
[00:15:27] Yeah, I mean, we had over a minute left.
[00:15:31] Yeah, we had to go to home.
[00:15:32] We had plenty of time.
[00:15:33] Yeah.
[00:15:35] I really don't know what is going on with the offense.
[00:15:38] You know, that was supposed to be the strength of the team.
[00:15:40] On the defensive side, I get it.
[00:15:43] I mean, the secondary is very young.
[00:15:47] They're going to get better.
[00:15:49] I don't know about – you know, the 3-3-5 stuff.
[00:15:56] You just have to adjust.
[00:15:57] If it's not working, you've got to figure something else out.
[00:16:00] Like, I don't know.
[00:16:01] Well, I think that's a big thing, yeah.
[00:16:02] Where are the adjustments from the staff?
[00:16:04] You know, what are we changing?
[00:16:05] What are we thinking about?
[00:16:08] Because –
[00:16:08] Well, you mentioned it.
[00:16:10] Yeah, that the secondary's got to – they're young.
[00:16:13] We've got to learn.
[00:16:14] And I do think there is some perspective needed.
[00:16:16] Remember, before the season, pretty much everyone was like, okay,
[00:16:19] there are three, maybe even four losses on the schedule.
[00:16:21] So, we're on track for that.
[00:16:23] You know, granted, we didn't think Vanderbilt would be one,
[00:16:25] but we did think Georgia would be one.
[00:16:27] Right.
[00:16:28] So, swap those out, if you will.
[00:16:30] Yeah.
[00:16:31] So, there is that perspective needed.
[00:16:33] And, of course, the fire to Boer crowd is ridiculous.
[00:16:37] Just ridiculous.
[00:16:38] You've got to give them – we're not Auburn, man.
[00:16:40] You've got to give them some time.
[00:16:41] You've got to give them some time.
[00:16:43] Because, like, I saw someone in a certain sense is kind of true.
[00:16:48] I mean, obviously, this is not his – none of these are his recruits.
[00:16:53] Mm-hmm.
[00:16:53] So, the style that necessary that he's looking for,
[00:16:58] obviously, these guys may not necessarily fit that role.
[00:17:01] Right.
[00:17:02] So, we have to give them some years to get his people in there.
[00:17:05] Uh-huh.
[00:17:06] And, you know, his style of players that, you know,
[00:17:09] he's worked with in Washington and other spots, Fresno.
[00:17:14] You get them, they, you know, they develop and, you know, get good,
[00:17:18] then we'll be fine.
[00:17:19] Now, if we're looking like this three, four years down the road,
[00:17:22] that's a different thought.
[00:17:24] Yeah, that's – yeah, that's a different story.
[00:17:25] And, you know, it's fair to go in the offseason
[00:17:27] and think about maybe a change in a coordinator or something.
[00:17:30] You know, Nick Saban, after his first year at Alabama,
[00:17:33] you know, Major Applewhite left.
[00:17:35] We brought in Michael Wayne.
[00:17:37] Yeah.
[00:17:39] And on the Jalen topic, I do think – look, I understand frustration
[00:17:44] when people want them out.
[00:17:46] You know, people at least want to see if Ty Simpson is a viable option.
[00:17:50] But there's not a game we could figure that out in right now.
[00:17:53] Yeah, you can't just throw him in next week at Missouri, can you?
[00:17:57] No, Missouri is a good team.
[00:18:00] You have to put – yeah, you have to put your faith in Jalen
[00:18:02] that he will bounce back and play at the level he was earlier in the season
[00:18:06] because he did look like a change man.
[00:18:08] He looked good.
[00:18:08] Like, he looked like the coaching had got to him in offseason.
[00:18:11] Yeah.
[00:18:11] He looked like a complete quarterback.
[00:18:13] Yeah.
[00:18:13] And maybe he's not the ideal fit for, you know, Kaley Moore's system.
[00:18:17] But he still – he stayed last year.
[00:18:20] Like, he cares about this team, you know.
[00:18:22] He cares.
[00:18:23] He definitely cares.
[00:18:23] I mean, this is the same man last year after getting benched,
[00:18:28] was on the sideline clapping it up, high-fiving the guys in South Florida
[00:18:33] in the ring.
[00:18:34] He could have sat there and said, fuck this, I'm out.
[00:18:37] Mm-hmm.
[00:18:38] And you risk losing the team, you know, if you bench a guy like that.
[00:18:42] Right.
[00:18:42] Now, granted, if it gets bad, you know, if he comes out in Missouri
[00:18:45] and throws four picks, then yeah, okay, I get it.
[00:18:47] You got to – yeah.
[00:18:49] But the folks that say bring in Ty Simpson, I get it.
[00:18:54] The backup is always the most popular guy on the team,
[00:18:57] as folks like to say there.
[00:19:00] But you're going to bring Ty Simpson to the Neyland Stadium?
[00:19:03] Come on.
[00:19:05] Against that defense?
[00:19:06] Right.
[00:19:07] Come on.
[00:19:07] No.
[00:19:08] No.
[00:19:09] This is not Ty's year.
[00:19:12] We run how we run.
[00:19:14] And if Ty is the quarterback next year,
[00:19:16] then we're completely behind him.
[00:19:19] But, you know, that's not fair to Jalen.
[00:19:22] It's not fair to Ty.
[00:19:24] Because let's say Jalen gets benched.
[00:19:30] And Ty sucks.
[00:19:33] Can you go back and say, hey, Jalen, we're sorry we benched you.
[00:19:36] You want to come back?
[00:19:38] I mean, he might.
[00:19:41] But do you really – I don't – no.
[00:19:44] Yeah.
[00:19:45] We've seen that.
[00:19:46] We got lucky when Nick did it and Jalen Hurst stayed around
[00:19:50] and he bailed us out in the SEC championship game.
[00:19:53] Jalen Hurst is a different breed.
[00:19:58] But, you know, it got kind of weird there.
[00:20:02] I don't want to see that again.
[00:20:03] So, no.
[00:20:04] I don't want to see Ty simply because it's not fair to anybody at this point.
[00:20:08] No, yeah.
[00:20:09] I don't want to see Ty unless we're up 40 and, you know, we're getting him reps.
[00:20:13] You know, that's the other thing.
[00:20:14] We haven't been doing that.
[00:20:15] He hasn't – it'd be one thing if he was coming in and playing, yeah, a quarter.
[00:20:19] Yeah.
[00:20:20] You know.
[00:20:20] So, we haven't – we've been – every game's a damn freaking heart attack.
[00:20:26] We can't have – I mean, usually the Vandy game is a game where you can see a Ty Simpson.
[00:20:32] Yeah.
[00:20:32] You know, or – now, granted, both South Carolina and Vanderbilt are better.
[00:20:37] But, I mean, still, I mean, those are the type of games where you, in the past,
[00:20:41] could have seen a Ty Simpson get a quarter.
[00:20:45] But, it's just not the way of ball anymore.
[00:20:51] Now, one coaching thing that we'll say about it, too, is we have to remember,
[00:20:57] now, he was part of his staff, but technically Nick Sheridan was a tight end coach.
[00:21:03] So, this is really his first play – as far as I know, his first time being an OC.
[00:21:09] So, it's a big step up going from a tight ends coach to the OC.
[00:21:13] You might have been part of that offense.
[00:21:14] Mm-hmm.
[00:21:15] But, obviously, not – Ryan Grubb not coming along with the staff, I think,
[00:21:22] hurts more than we might know.
[00:21:24] Because that offense in Seattle today looked pretty damn good.
[00:21:30] Yeah.
[00:21:30] I will say that.
[00:21:31] I do think that was a big – and, of course, the timing of it really kind of hurt our chances
[00:21:37] to get someone else, you know.
[00:21:39] Right.
[00:21:41] So, maybe that's something we visit in the offseason.
[00:21:43] You know, maybe Sheridan gets back to some type of position coach role.
[00:21:47] Right.
[00:21:47] Or, maybe he learns and gets better.
[00:21:49] Yeah.
[00:21:49] Or, maybe if we stick with him, we don't know.
[00:21:51] But, that – and that's one thing that maybe if, you know, some problems continue,
[00:21:56] you have to look at.
[00:21:56] I think, you know, maybe –
[00:21:57] Or –
[00:21:58] I think defensively is where you have to look at first if you're talking about coaching changes.
[00:22:02] But, again, you have to – we got to see how the rest of the season plays out.
[00:22:06] Right.
[00:22:06] Absolutely.
[00:22:07] For all we know, we turn it around, we go 10-2, and we still get in the playoff, you know.
[00:22:11] Yeah.
[00:22:12] It doesn't look likely.
[00:22:13] But, you know, you never – we don't know this.
[00:22:15] This year is just one of those years where –
[00:22:17] Yeah.
[00:22:17] Because, as crazy as it sounds, as homewraged as it sounds – and, I mean, at this point,
[00:22:24] I'm not expecting anything.
[00:22:25] I don't know what to expect even for Saturday.
[00:22:29] But, if we play how I know they can play, there's not a team we can't beat on that schedule.
[00:22:37] Now, will we?
[00:22:38] Who knows?
[00:22:39] I mean, we could easily lose every game on the schedule, you know, outside the Mercer game.
[00:22:45] Right.
[00:22:45] And we can win every game outside all the games.
[00:22:50] So, it's just a matter of, at some point, who wants to win?
[00:22:56] You know, who wants to step up and take charge?
[00:23:01] Everybody's going to say the right thing in press conferences, but that's just old now.
[00:23:06] We have two losses.
[00:23:07] It's not – you know, after the Vanderbilt game was one thing, but now we have two losses.
[00:23:12] So, it's a whole different thing.
[00:23:13] Two losses, and we have not played well since –
[00:23:17] No.
[00:23:17] Since the first half of the Georgia game.
[00:23:19] Yeah, exactly.
[00:23:20] So, I don't know what weird cosmic thing happened at that halftime of that game, but I wish it would –
[00:23:25] Something.
[00:23:25] I'm due or reverse.
[00:23:26] Yeah, I don't know what happened, but something's been missing ever since then.
[00:23:32] Mm-hmm.
[00:23:32] I mean, there was so much electricity intensity, and I haven't seen that really since.
[00:23:40] On either side, nobody seems really interested.
[00:23:44] And I understand, like, we're just fans.
[00:23:46] Like, they're out there busting their ass in practice every day, and I don't want to be the guy that said I wanted more than them.
[00:23:52] Because I'm not playing.
[00:23:53] I'm not out there practicing every day doing all the stuff football players do.
[00:24:00] But, man, it just seems – I don't know.
[00:24:04] Just frustrating because, I mean, really, I mean, Tennessee did a good job, but there's no way we should have lost that game, especially in that situation.
[00:24:13] No, yeah.
[00:24:14] No, I would have rather – now, if we had lost in a shootout, I'm not overly upset because I expected the defense to play like trash just because that's what they've done.
[00:24:24] You know, I expect if we're going to lose, it's going to be in that Vandy-style fashion where, you know, we just are down and we don't have a chance to get the ball back, you know, or something like that.
[00:24:35] Now, it would have still sucked, but I'm understanding a little bit because that's what we've come to expect.
[00:24:40] I didn't expect anything from the defense.
[00:24:43] But when a defense that's under – that's been under scrutiny all season for the last couple weeks gives you a lot of chances and we don't take advantage of any of those, that's the frustrating part to me.
[00:24:55] Not even a field goal out of any of those.
[00:24:59] Yeah.
[00:25:00] That – yeah, that's just the absolutely most frustrating part.
[00:25:05] And the 20 attempts to – Ryan Williams is excellent, but 20 attempts.
[00:25:10] Yeah, that's ridiculous.
[00:25:11] 20 targets and half of them were terrible.
[00:25:15] And when we – it was very forced, very – it was bad tendencies, forcing a long receiver.
[00:25:21] And that's the coaching staff's job.
[00:25:23] You know, we've got to fix that.
[00:25:24] We've got to get early season Jalen – first half Jalen-Milrow back.
[00:25:29] That looks around.
[00:25:29] Calm him down.
[00:25:30] Calls the gut.
[00:25:31] Yeah, you've got to call the plays and, you know, get it right.
[00:25:35] You've got to run the backs better.
[00:25:36] You've got to find a way to make the running game with the backs work.
[00:25:41] We can't be averaging 2.2 yards carry.
[00:25:43] You know, you can't have – now they've got more carries.
[00:25:45] They've got 20 combined carries.
[00:25:46] But no, you need more from then when you throw the ball 45 times because we probably shouldn't be throwing.
[00:25:51] I know that the running game is not the staple of Jalen-Boer's offense, but you have to do it better than that.
[00:25:57] And then defensively –
[00:25:58] But it was last year at Washington.
[00:25:59] That's what I don't – that's the one thing I don't get.
[00:26:02] It was stable.
[00:26:04] Well, it was stable.
[00:26:05] You know, it's not the focus, but it's great.
[00:26:06] You know, he had a great running back and a really good running game last year.
[00:26:10] But he had a 1,000 yard back last year.
[00:26:13] Exactly.
[00:26:13] Yeah, exactly.
[00:26:14] And that's what we need.
[00:26:15] You know, even if combined, we don't – you know, if they just need combined 1,000 yards, then that'd be great.
[00:26:19] That'd be beautiful.
[00:26:21] Yeah, you know, 1,500 yards, you know, from the two of them, what seems ideal.
[00:26:26] Obviously, if one of them would go for 1,000, the other would have, you know, somewhere around 800 would be incredible.
[00:26:32] But we don't need that.
[00:26:33] We just need better than 2.2 yards of carry.
[00:26:38] We need the defense to not give up 5.5 yards of carry.
[00:26:42] No.
[00:26:43] And we need to figure out where the hell these guys are beating us over top.
[00:26:48] We need to do something about that because we're not getting home.
[00:26:50] It's one thing if you're getting – if you're playing single coverage and you're getting home to the quarterback,
[00:26:56] but we're not getting home and we're getting beat back.
[00:26:59] You can't leave every – you can't leave every ball on the island when you have no – absolutely no pass rush.
[00:27:07] Right.
[00:27:08] You can't do that.
[00:27:09] We talk about how Alabama couldn't have been up big at halftime.
[00:27:11] Well, Tennessee could have been right in the game too because they missed a couple big balls.
[00:27:15] It would have been scores.
[00:27:17] Oh, absolutely.
[00:27:18] Absolutely.
[00:27:18] And they caught us in the second half with those.
[00:27:20] Nico up that one when they got out to like the four-yard line.
[00:27:24] Absolutely a beautiful throw by Nico.
[00:27:26] Great deep ball, great catch.
[00:27:28] And then, of course, the go-ahead touchdown was a diving great – and that was what, about a 20, 30-yard throw there?
[00:27:33] Yeah.
[00:27:33] I mean, that was about – I mean, he had to throw it like that to get there because, I mean, it wasn't bad coverage.
[00:27:38] But that just shows you, man, when Nico is on, he's – oh, man.
[00:27:45] Yeah.
[00:27:47] So, but so it's – you know, I will say – so that's where – we know where we've got to improve.
[00:27:53] I will say a silver lining as we look ahead the rest of the season is that that back half of the schedule now is not as daunting as we thought it was going to be.
[00:28:01] Missouri has a very weak 6-1 team.
[00:28:05] They are struggling.
[00:28:06] They have not looked – they have not lived up to that preseason hype at all this year.
[00:28:12] Arkansas looks terrible.
[00:28:14] So that road game, you know, still probably be a tough game.
[00:28:17] But you may be –
[00:28:18] Oh, you?
[00:28:19] Oh, you?
[00:28:20] Yeah.
[00:28:20] Yeah, Oklahoma.
[00:28:22] Yeah, we're so used to play in Arkansas.
[00:28:24] Yeah.
[00:28:24] Yeah.
[00:28:24] Oklahoma just looks – ugh.
[00:28:27] Awful.
[00:28:27] Awful.
[00:28:28] South Carolina, we'll talk about it.
[00:28:30] Yeah.
[00:28:31] Absolutely.
[00:28:31] And then, of course, the Iron Bowl is in Tuscaloosa, so that makes you feel a little bit better.
[00:28:36] And they, you know, speaking of teams looking awful, we'll get to them in a minute.
[00:28:39] Hmm.
[00:28:41] And then, of course, Baton Rouge.
[00:28:42] Now, that's the one.
[00:28:44] Yeah, I was going to say that's the scary one.
[00:28:46] That's the one that right now you probably – as the way they're playing, I kind of put that in a pencil as an L right now.
[00:28:52] Now, granted, that's not saying we can't go in and beat.
[00:28:54] It's not unwinnable.
[00:28:56] Yeah.
[00:28:56] But right now it's not looking like –
[00:28:58] But that one, I mean, they – and I was way off on that.
[00:29:01] I really thought Arkansas had a chance going into the weekend being at their own home.
[00:29:05] Oh, I did too, yeah.
[00:29:06] Yeah.
[00:29:06] And they got absolutely housed.
[00:29:09] No, yeah.
[00:29:10] At home.
[00:29:12] LSU keeps improving every week, it seems like.
[00:29:15] Yeah, they do.
[00:29:15] We'll see.
[00:29:15] We'll get ahead, you know, talk about them too.
[00:29:18] But, yeah, I think that's just – that's where we're at with Alabama.
[00:29:20] I don't have any more thoughts on that.
[00:29:22] Yeah.
[00:29:23] Unfortunately, I think we – I think, you know, this team is just what it is.
[00:29:28] Mm-hmm.
[00:29:29] You know, we keep on hoping there were things we're going to get, you know, astronomically better.
[00:29:34] And I think this is just who we are.
[00:29:36] You don't know when and where you're going to get it.
[00:29:39] You see some good things, but no consistency.
[00:29:42] And who knows what the rest of the season will be like.
[00:29:46] But, you know, a lot of these – and, you know, I saw an interesting post by our kicker, Jamie Christensen, said something about there's a lot – it seems like there's a lot more Saban fans than our Alabama fans these days.
[00:30:11] That's a good point.
[00:30:12] That's kind of true.
[00:30:13] Yeah, people –
[00:30:16] No, yeah, people have to let Kalen DeBoer put – we talked about this before the season.
[00:30:21] You got to make – we are not – we are no longer in the greatest era of, you know, a college football team.
[00:30:27] A different world.
[00:30:27] Coach has had.
[00:30:28] Yeah, it is a new era, and you have to let Kalen DeBoer put his imprint on his program.
[00:30:32] And then, you know, that takes about three seasons.
[00:30:34] And then if you don't like that imprint, then that's what you talk about.
[00:30:38] Then you can start looking around or thinking, hey, I have those – started having those conversations.
[00:30:44] Now, I will say at least we have a sensible, you know, athletic director, Redburn.
[00:30:52] He's not going to – he's not going to panic or anything like that.
[00:30:56] He's not that type of guy, doesn't seem like.
[00:30:58] So, you know, I think overall we're going to be fine.
[00:31:01] But I think right now the most annoying thing, you know, just the fact that we don't know what to expect from this team in any way.
[00:31:11] And then also just the fact that some of these fans, boy, they're annoying.
[00:31:17] It's bad.
[00:31:19] Yeah.
[00:31:20] It's bad.
[00:31:21] But, I mean, that's kind of – well, where we've been, I guess, as happens in every fan base when you've had the success.
[00:31:28] But, man, it's just like, chill out.
[00:31:31] Yeah.
[00:31:35] But, yeah, I think it's a good time to move on there.
[00:31:39] Yeah.
[00:31:39] Oh, well, well.
[00:31:40] The rest of college football happening yesterday, of course.
[00:31:47] We mentioned LSU.
[00:31:48] Let's go ahead and talk them.
[00:31:49] Like we said, they just went into Arkansas and just destroyed the Hogs, took care of business, like you said there.
[00:31:58] Oh.
[00:31:59] Oh.
[00:32:00] Just, yeah.
[00:32:01] Nussmeyer's looking great at QB.
[00:32:03] They're running the ball.
[00:32:04] Defense is flying around, creating turnovers.
[00:32:08] And then next week, you know, we got – you know, we mentioned Georgia and Texas and the top of the SEC.
[00:32:14] Well, the top of the SEC is actually Texas A&M and then LSU, the only two unbeaten teams.
[00:32:19] Yeah.
[00:32:19] Yeah.
[00:32:20] And conference play.
[00:32:22] And they play each other next week in College Station.
[00:32:25] Big ABC.
[00:32:28] That'd be huge.
[00:32:29] Yeah.
[00:32:29] As a big – as one where we will, you know, see what's going on there.
[00:32:37] Yeah.
[00:32:37] That's Saturday night.
[00:32:38] Pair that – yeah.
[00:32:39] Pair that with the Missouri-Alabama game and you're going to – the SEC standards will start to take shape a little bit better.
[00:32:47] Yeah, for sure.
[00:32:48] Also yesterday, another ranked matchup, Michigan-Illinois, the Illini Sport.
[00:32:53] I thought they were pretty cool looking throwback.
[00:32:55] Yeah.
[00:32:56] I thought it was interesting.
[00:32:58] That's cool.
[00:32:59] Took it to the Wolverines.
[00:33:00] Kind of just pushed them around.
[00:33:04] And the Illini, man, looking good.
[00:33:07] They are.
[00:33:08] They really are.
[00:33:09] And this is definitely not last year's Michigan team.
[00:33:13] No.
[00:33:13] We kind of sensed that coming into the season, that it was going to be a different situation.
[00:33:26] And, you know, I understand the loyalty aspect of it.
[00:33:31] But, man, just not even really casting that to see who might be interested in the Michigan job from a bigger standpoint as far as a coach.
[00:33:40] Mm-hmm.
[00:33:40] That's a risky situation.
[00:33:42] Because I understand you want to – I mean, Sherron Moore was the guy that won some games last year.
[00:33:48] But, man, the realistic thing is during the week, Hartball was running these things.
[00:33:55] And he just implemented and kept things going on the weekend.
[00:33:58] Let's be realistic here.
[00:34:00] Yeah.
[00:34:01] Yeah.
[00:34:02] And, like, I understand it's an emotional thing and you want to try to keep recruits and everything.
[00:34:07] But for a program like Michigan, I don't know, it doesn't seem like a very good look overall.
[00:34:14] Well, it's a big risk when you make that emotional hire.
[00:34:17] And, you know, honestly, you'd have to –
[00:34:20] It's a guy who's never been a head coach.
[00:34:22] Exactly.
[00:34:23] And a lot of times, though, you know, sometimes it happens.
[00:34:26] You know, Larry Coker was an assistant under Butch Davis.
[00:34:29] Butch Davis goes to the pros.
[00:34:31] Coker takes over, wins the national title his first season.
[00:34:33] But ultimately, he was only there, what, five or six seasons?
[00:34:36] You know, he's still –
[00:34:37] And he's the reason Miami fell off the earth.
[00:34:41] Yeah.
[00:34:43] Yeah.
[00:34:44] It got –
[00:34:45] You know, sometimes those emotional hires work, but it might be short-term.
[00:34:48] And sometimes they just fall flat.
[00:34:50] And when you're a national title team and three straight –
[00:34:54] Was it two straight?
[00:34:55] Three straight playoff appearances.
[00:34:56] Three straight playoffs.
[00:34:58] Yeah.
[00:34:58] You know, you took over the Big Ten from Ohio State.
[00:35:01] You started dominating them.
[00:35:04] Yeah.
[00:35:04] Three all straight over the number.
[00:35:06] Yeah, exactly.
[00:35:06] You would think that you go out and get a top-tier coach, a splash higher.
[00:35:10] I'm passing that net.
[00:35:12] Because Michigan is –
[00:35:12] Or at least someone with head coaching experience.
[00:35:14] Yes.
[00:35:15] Now, Michigan is a big-time program.
[00:35:18] Mm-hmm.
[00:35:19] It doesn't matter.
[00:35:19] Even when they were down a little bit, they're still Michigan.
[00:35:22] They're still a program.
[00:35:23] You say, hey, we're hiring.
[00:35:25] You're going to give us some interesting names.
[00:35:27] Mm-hmm.
[00:35:29] Like, I'm –
[00:35:30] And after that, man, I'm definitely casting that net and saying,
[00:35:34] see what we can get.
[00:35:35] Yep.
[00:35:36] Exactly, yeah.
[00:35:37] I'm bringing in somebody that has coaching experience, head coaching,
[00:35:42] and more than likely someone who has big-time coaching experience.
[00:35:48] I want someone who has had powerful experience.
[00:35:53] But, I don't know, just – I don't know.
[00:35:55] It just seems very risky.
[00:35:59] But, at the same time, now that you've done that, don't – you can't just –
[00:36:04] don't throw him under the bus and get rid of him, you know.
[00:36:06] No.
[00:36:07] At the same time.
[00:36:07] You guys made that decision.
[00:36:09] You guys feel comfortable with it.
[00:36:11] At least let him run his course and see what he does with it.
[00:36:13] Let him at least get his contract at this point, unless he gets off on there,
[00:36:17] like 1-11 or something.
[00:36:19] But, you guys signed up for this and accepted it.
[00:36:22] So, I say, you know, you live with what you do.
[00:36:27] Exactly.
[00:36:28] Well, yeah, exactly.
[00:36:28] You know, much like the Alabama fans mad at DeVore.
[00:36:31] Like, hey, you made this, you know, decision and you got to –
[00:36:35] or your AD made this decision, rather.
[00:36:37] And you're just going to have to –
[00:36:38] You're going to have to see where it goes.
[00:36:40] See how it plays out.
[00:36:41] Because, you know, like it says,
[00:36:43] unless it gets so bad that you're worried about it really hurting the program
[00:36:47] for an extended period.
[00:36:49] But then you make your change.
[00:36:50] You prevent that, of course.
[00:36:52] Exactly.
[00:36:53] He's going –
[00:36:56] Instantaneous, so we need it now.
[00:36:58] Come on.
[00:36:59] It's not how it works.
[00:37:01] No, but we'll move on from that one.
[00:37:04] Notre Dame got an easy win over Georgia Tech.
[00:37:07] Yeah, it was kind of over once we saw Haynes King win.
[00:37:10] Staying around that region, Big Ten, Nebraska.
[00:37:13] Nebraska went into unbeaten Indiana.
[00:37:15] Good game.
[00:37:16] We thought, you know, hey, Matt Rubble's got Nebraska playing well.
[00:37:19] Kurt Cignetti's got Indiana playing well.
[00:37:22] Man, the Hoosiers housed them.
[00:37:24] Anything but a good game.
[00:37:25] Yeah, anything.
[00:37:26] Oh, man.
[00:37:27] Kurt Cignetti got to get Coach of the Year, love, right?
[00:37:29] I mean, right now.
[00:37:31] Absolutely.
[00:37:33] Absolutely.
[00:37:34] When he made the move in the all season,
[00:37:36] we questioned whether, you know, he was just making a lateral move.
[00:37:39] Yeah.
[00:37:40] JMU's a program on the rise.
[00:37:41] Good resources there.
[00:37:43] Yeah.
[00:37:43] He said, no, I'm going to go to the Big Ten and dominate.
[00:37:46] And, well.
[00:37:48] He said, Google me.
[00:37:50] Yeah, he said, Google me.
[00:37:51] And he's a winner.
[00:37:52] And he's not lying.
[00:37:53] He is a winner.
[00:37:54] He is.
[00:37:56] I mean, it's not the toughest schedule,
[00:37:58] but they've been housing everybody.
[00:38:00] I mean, they've been absolutely housing everybody.
[00:38:03] I mean, it's a great story because, I mean, it's like the Indiana, what they said, has been 7-0 twice.
[00:38:12] This is the second time ever.
[00:38:15] Something like that.
[00:38:17] But, you know, he brought a lot of guys with him from JMU.
[00:38:22] So, you know, he kind of knew what to expect.
[00:38:25] The interesting thing will be, you know, how they finish the season.
[00:38:30] Mm-hmm.
[00:38:32] And then going forward, man, it's going to be so tough for Indiana to be able to keep that, man, unfortunately.
[00:38:40] Oh, right.
[00:38:40] Yeah.
[00:38:41] What has Indiana got to do?
[00:38:42] Because, you know, I mean, hell, we talked about Michigan.
[00:38:45] Michigan, if it goes really bad, do they not?
[00:38:47] I mean, it's right there in their conference.
[00:38:51] They're going to play it, you know, in a few weeks in Bloomington.
[00:38:58] Oh, and he houses them.
[00:39:00] Oh, yeah.
[00:39:02] You know, they host Washington next week.
[00:39:05] And then they travel on the road to a suddenly spry Michigan State.
[00:39:10] Yeah.
[00:39:11] So, yeah.
[00:39:12] And, of course, they end there, you know, after that Michigan game, they go to Ohio State.
[00:39:15] So, we'll learn.
[00:39:16] But could they get into Michigan?
[00:39:17] What are they now?
[00:39:19] They're 7-0.
[00:39:21] They could be 9-0 going, you know, when Michigan comes to town.
[00:39:26] You win that.
[00:39:27] Could you imagine if they're 10-0 going to a one-loss Ohio State team at the horseshoe?
[00:39:36] That would be something.
[00:39:37] And the other fun thing about that is they said, like, the ticket, the lowest ticket you could get was $100 for yesterday's game.
[00:39:47] That just shows you the excitement around Bloomington right now for football in November.
[00:39:53] So, I mean, excuse me, close to November, which clearly is usually basketball season by now.
[00:39:59] And just the fact that, man, can you imagine any other year you could probably buy season tickets for $100?
[00:40:08] Yeah.
[00:40:09] And now it was $100 to get in yesterday, and it's only going to get better from here.
[00:40:13] You know, you like to see a team like this, you know, even if they lost to Michigan, you know, Ohio State.
[00:40:20] I mean, they're still very much in the playoff position.
[00:40:24] I mean, that would be interesting to see someone like Indiana get into the playoff just to see, you know, what they do against.
[00:40:32] But, you know, we'll see.
[00:40:33] But, man, just a great story.
[00:40:36] You know, Kirk Cignetti clearly has to be, as you said, has to be at the top of that coaching pool.
[00:40:44] I mean, coach of the year.
[00:40:46] And then, yeah, it would just be interesting, too, just, you know, can Indiana keep this man in any way?
[00:40:55] He's definitely going to be a hot commodity.
[00:40:57] Oh, yeah.
[00:40:58] If they keep going.
[00:40:59] Now, granted, you know, they could also fall off a cliff.
[00:41:01] They could.
[00:41:02] It doesn't look like it.
[00:41:03] They looked.
[00:41:03] It doesn't look like it.
[00:41:04] I mean, they seem to have it.
[00:41:07] They seem to be rolling.
[00:41:08] That's a good story.
[00:41:10] But, you know, it would be interesting how it plays out.
[00:41:16] Yeah.
[00:41:17] Staying in a Big Ten real quick, just did you catch that Maryland-USC ending at all?
[00:41:23] I didn't.
[00:41:24] I read about it, but I didn't actually see it.
[00:41:27] Crazy.
[00:41:27] Fourth quarter, you know, Maryland down 13.
[00:41:31] Yeah.
[00:41:32] And then just craziness, 14 points.
[00:41:35] The Terps steal a win from USC in College Park.
[00:41:40] Crazy ending, you know, not much.
[00:41:41] You know, it's just, man, Lincoln Riley looking rough.
[00:41:45] Yeah.
[00:41:46] USC not having a great.
[00:41:48] Three and four.
[00:41:49] Yeah, not having a great year in their first year in the Big Ten.
[00:41:54] And neither, you know, really Oregon's the only one having a.
[00:41:57] Yeah.
[00:41:58] Washington might be okay with considering how much they lost.
[00:42:01] And UCLA probably doesn't care if they're getting a paycheck.
[00:42:04] I mean, that was a good win for them yesterday.
[00:42:07] Yeah.
[00:42:07] UCLA, the beat Rutgers who kind of following on the wayside a little bit.
[00:42:13] Yeah.
[00:42:13] Yeah, but good win for UCLA considering where they've been, you know, going.
[00:42:18] You know, on the road from, you know, past, you know, past to New Jersey.
[00:42:24] Been a little tougher with their coach back.
[00:42:28] You know, that's been a decent atmosphere.
[00:42:30] That's a big win for UCLA.
[00:42:33] Yeah.
[00:42:34] Piscataway.
[00:42:35] Piscataway.
[00:42:36] Yeah.
[00:42:37] Yeah.
[00:42:38] Going all the way across country.
[00:42:40] Dumb that it's a conference game still.
[00:42:42] But nonetheless, it's a win for UCLA.
[00:42:44] A win for them.
[00:42:47] Let's go back to the SEC now.
[00:42:49] Or no, real quick, we'll stop in the ACC.
[00:42:51] Miami, Louisville was just absolutely bonkers.
[00:42:54] Oh, what a game.
[00:42:56] Bonkers.
[00:42:56] What a freaking game.
[00:43:00] Yeah, just absolutely crazy back and forth there.
[00:43:03] It looked, just when it looked for a split second, that Miami was about to pull away.
[00:43:07] Took a 14-point lead midway through third quarter.
[00:43:11] Touch, kickoff turn for touchdown.
[00:43:13] And then shit just went haywire.
[00:43:15] Miami wins by seven.
[00:43:17] Cam Ward, Damian Martinez, he had just a grown-up run.
[00:43:22] Right.
[00:43:23] Yeah, he did.
[00:43:24] At one point.
[00:43:25] Um, great win for Miami.
[00:43:28] They just keep pulling them out, man.
[00:43:29] 7-0 now.
[00:43:32] Man, they find a little drama every week, don't they?
[00:43:37] Yeah, they do.
[00:43:38] And next week, they welcome a rival Florida State in who things are just not, eh.
[00:43:46] Things are not good in Tennessee.
[00:43:47] Yeah, I see.
[00:43:48] Don't let this be the, don't let this be the, you can't, you cannot let this be the one
[00:43:54] at home to your hated rival.
[00:43:57] No.
[00:43:57] When they're terrible.
[00:43:59] No.
[00:43:59] When they are so terrible.
[00:44:02] Yeah.
[00:44:02] Absolutely.
[00:44:02] You have to house them.
[00:44:04] It can't be a game.
[00:44:05] You have to demoralize them.
[00:44:07] Yeah.
[00:44:08] Exactly.
[00:44:09] You have to keep, put them away and get ready for what looks to be a really important game
[00:44:14] against Duke, honestly.
[00:44:16] Yeah.
[00:44:17] Former coach going up against his team.
[00:44:19] Yeah.
[00:44:20] Yeah.
[00:44:22] Huh.
[00:44:24] So, yeah.
[00:44:25] Yeah, you obviously have to house Florida State.
[00:44:28] We'll look ahead next week in a little bit, but let's move to the SEC now.
[00:44:32] I mentioned Auburn.
[00:44:33] Sorry, one more thing about Louisville.
[00:44:39] This whole season, I keep on seeing Ja'Cory Brooks having big-ass games.
[00:44:46] And I'm like, man, he was our guy.
[00:44:49] Yeah.
[00:44:49] He was, and then he got in Saban's doghouse.
[00:44:52] And got hurt and stuff, and it's just both.
[00:44:55] So, like, he's absolutely killing it this year.
[00:44:57] Had a big game yesterday.
[00:44:59] He's had big games all season.
[00:45:01] Mm-hmm.
[00:45:02] Leading the team in, yeah, receiving.
[00:45:05] 679, eight touchdowns.
[00:45:07] I mean, his lowest production of the year was 71 against Notre Dame.
[00:45:11] Mm-hmm.
[00:45:12] Yeah, he is.
[00:45:13] But it just shows you, you know, if you're in a situation that makes you happy,
[00:45:18] I always knew he had the talent.
[00:45:20] We've seen him at times.
[00:45:21] But, man, we couldn't just fully put it together.
[00:45:24] It didn't seem like consistently.
[00:45:26] And now you see him in this, and it's like, man, what could have been?
[00:45:30] Yeah.
[00:45:31] Oh, wow.
[00:45:32] Louisville's falling on tough times after a 3-0 start.
[00:45:34] They've lost 3-4 now.
[00:45:36] They go to Boston College on Friday night, try to rebound,
[00:45:41] because they got Clemson.
[00:45:43] They got to go to Clemson after that.
[00:45:45] Yeah.
[00:45:46] They have a tough schedule.
[00:45:48] Yeah.
[00:45:49] But, all right, now let's go ahead.
[00:45:51] Yeah.
[00:45:52] SEC.
[00:45:54] Auburn, let's start with them.
[00:45:56] Man, it is – took the lead, what, 14-3?
[00:46:02] Yeah.
[00:46:02] In Columbia, you know, Drew Locke was out the game.
[00:46:05] Drew Locke comes back, and Missouri Storms back, wins the game.
[00:46:11] Another just bad loss for the Tigers.
[00:46:16] You know, I'm just asking if I'm an Auburn fan,
[00:46:21] is this actually better than –
[00:46:24] Is this one win?
[00:46:26] Is this better than Brian Harsin?
[00:46:28] Is this any better?
[00:46:29] Like, what has Hugh Freeze improved upon?
[00:46:33] You know, they can point to recruiting, I guess.
[00:46:36] Yeah, I guess they can point to recruiting, I guess.
[00:46:39] But, man, like –
[00:46:40] You might lose some people.
[00:46:41] Are you willing to –
[00:46:44] Like, yeah.
[00:46:45] You're going to lose somebody.
[00:46:47] Yeah, you're going to lose somebody,
[00:46:48] because you're not –
[00:46:49] It's not just that you're losing.
[00:46:50] The way you're losing, you just do not look good.
[00:46:53] These embarrassing losses.
[00:46:55] You know, now you travel to an up-and-down Kentucky
[00:46:59] team next week, who –
[00:47:01] We'll talk about them in a second.
[00:47:03] But, yeah, like, that's –
[00:47:05] Lexington's not an easy place to play.
[00:47:07] It's a primetime game.
[00:47:08] You get Vanderbilt and noted, you know,
[00:47:12] Hugh Freeze killer Diego Pavia.
[00:47:14] UL Monroe's having a good year.
[00:47:16] That's no longer a guarantee.
[00:47:18] That's an early game, too.
[00:47:20] Good God.
[00:47:22] And then, you know, Texas A&M comes to town,
[00:47:25] and then you go to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl.
[00:47:28] Greg, do you see a win on that schedule?
[00:47:30] You would think Monroe, right?
[00:47:32] You would have to think at least that –
[00:47:34] You would think.
[00:47:35] And the talent's there.
[00:47:37] But even then, they do win that game,
[00:47:39] and they lose all the others.
[00:47:40] You saying this man did not win one SEC game,
[00:47:45] and we have never seen that –
[00:47:47] Even in Auburn's worst years, they've always –
[00:47:51] That would be bad.
[00:47:53] You talking about an angry, the most irrational folks
[00:47:57] who make their craziest decisions,
[00:48:00] and you give them that?
[00:48:03] Yikes.
[00:48:05] Yeah, you wonder.
[00:48:06] Yeah, if he goes winless in SEC play,
[00:48:09] I mean, he's got a worse record than Brian Harsin did
[00:48:12] at this point through his tenure.
[00:48:13] Exactly.
[00:48:13] He was fired after this point.
[00:48:16] Exactly.
[00:48:17] So, they really have to believe in Hugh Freeze if they want.
[00:48:21] Yeah.
[00:48:21] And he's better turned around.
[00:48:23] He better –
[00:48:23] You know, you've got to go –
[00:48:24] How many games –
[00:48:25] I mean, if you're an Auburn fan,
[00:48:27] put yourself in their shoes right now.
[00:48:28] You're 2-5, 0-4 in SEC play.
[00:48:31] Yeah.
[00:48:31] How many of these games is it just like –
[00:48:35] You know, do you've got to steal one of A&M in Alabama?
[00:48:39] Do you –
[00:48:40] You know, obviously, if you lose to Monroe, either –
[00:48:42] Oh, my God.
[00:48:44] It depends what you do, I guess.
[00:48:45] But if you beat Kentucky and beat Vanderbilt,
[00:48:48] but still, yeah, losing to Monroe seems like a bad thing because –
[00:48:52] No.
[00:48:52] Yeah.
[00:48:53] No.
[00:48:55] Excuse me.
[00:48:56] It's just a bad –
[00:48:57] It's just a bad look, especially in the way that they've lost some of these games.
[00:49:01] Because, I mean, you were up big on OU at home.
[00:49:06] You let that slip.
[00:49:09] You lost to Cal and Arkansas at home in the easy part of the schedule.
[00:49:16] So, I did.
[00:49:17] Now, you go to –
[00:49:19] Go on the road to Columbia.
[00:49:24] Go up early.
[00:49:26] Look good.
[00:49:27] And everybody's like, what's going on?
[00:49:28] And then you let –
[00:49:30] You take Brady Cook out of the game.
[00:49:35] And then he comes back.
[00:49:37] And then, like a superhero leads him to a win.
[00:49:40] And then he comes in at the end of the third quarter,
[00:49:43] does a little Willis Reed impression, and leads him to a victory.
[00:49:46] It's like, my goodness.
[00:49:48] It's like, whatever Auburn's done, like karma –
[00:49:53] Whatever they've done to somebody, like karma's hitting them hard in the mouth right now.
[00:49:57] Because that is –
[00:49:58] Some of the stuff that's happened to them has been absolutely ridiculous.
[00:50:02] From our standpoint, it's great.
[00:50:06] But, man, it's just wild at this point.
[00:50:10] Yeah, it's insane.
[00:50:13] You know, if you're an Auburn fan, you can't feel good right now.
[00:50:17] No.
[00:50:17] You can't just point at a couple recruits, you know, because, like you said,
[00:50:21] you don't know who might transfer out after this season.
[00:50:24] You know, you –
[00:50:26] I mean, that's a real scapegoat.
[00:50:28] You've brought up this question, but if you're an Auburn fan right now,
[00:50:30] you're asking why the hell didn't we get in the portal and get someone,
[00:50:33] or why couldn't we?
[00:50:34] If we did try, why didn't they want to come play?
[00:50:37] Like, what is wrong with this team?
[00:50:38] What don't we know?
[00:50:40] Because it's bad.
[00:50:43] It's bad.
[00:50:44] It's absolutely horrible.
[00:50:45] Yeah.
[00:50:46] I got some stats here.
[00:50:48] Tweeted out.
[00:50:49] Jay Ferguson on Twitter, Justin Ferguson.
[00:50:53] Auburn's offense had 12 drives against Missouri.
[00:50:57] Five three-and-outs in those.
[00:50:59] Wow.
[00:51:00] And they had a four-and-out at the end of the game there.
[00:51:04] On the other six drives, Auburn four times,
[00:51:08] they had a first down inside the Missouri 40-yard line.
[00:51:11] They only got three points out of those four possessions right there.
[00:51:15] Wow.
[00:51:16] And then the other two drives were one was the big play touchdown,
[00:51:19] and one was a fumble.
[00:51:23] So, you can't – yeah.
[00:51:24] Yeah, that's – if you don't have that big play,
[00:51:27] then it looks even worse.
[00:51:29] Yeah.
[00:51:30] I just – you know, I think if you're – I mean, I look at that schedule.
[00:51:37] Like you said, at Kentucky, yeah, they just got blown out at Florida.
[00:51:43] Good win for the Gators.
[00:51:46] Yeah.
[00:51:46] Absolutely.
[00:51:47] DJ Lagway, crazy stat line real quick just on the side.
[00:51:49] DJ Lagway, seven completions, 259 yards.
[00:51:56] While you're talking about hitting big plays.
[00:51:59] You're talking about a guy, man.
[00:52:01] You just see so much potential with that dude.
[00:52:04] He could be scary if he gets coached up right.
[00:52:09] Yeah.
[00:52:09] He might be the best quarterback in America.
[00:52:11] Oh, sure.
[00:52:12] Sure.
[00:52:12] Yeah.
[00:52:13] But, yeah.
[00:52:15] Going to Kentucky is just – Kentucky is just one of those weird places.
[00:52:19] And they're an up-and-down team this year.
[00:52:21] You could go in there and steal one from them,
[00:52:23] or they could go in and run you –
[00:52:25] Oh, yeah.
[00:52:25] Or they could run you over and dominate you on defense.
[00:52:28] At this point, I'm going with that.
[00:52:31] Yeah, exactly.
[00:52:32] At this point, I lean toward Kentucky taking that game.
[00:52:34] Vanderbilt comes into Jordan-Hare.
[00:52:37] And granted, you know, hey, we'll see.
[00:52:40] Vanderbilt –
[00:52:43] You know, kind of an ugly win over Ball State.
[00:52:45] They did what they had to do.
[00:52:47] Yeah.
[00:52:49] But Diego, like we said, Diego Poffe has beaten Hugh Friest team twice now.
[00:52:53] Nice.
[00:52:54] Dominating them.
[00:52:55] Yeah.
[00:52:56] They, of course, and, you know, who knows how they'll be feeling after they get Texas next Saturday.
[00:53:04] But, you know, maybe they're humbled a little bit.
[00:53:06] Maybe they play a good game.
[00:53:08] Maybe they pull the unthinkable and beat another top five team.
[00:53:12] Let's hope.
[00:53:14] But that's –
[00:53:14] Either way, they're a tough team.
[00:53:17] They're a tough team.
[00:53:18] The way Auburn's playing right now, you don't think they're capable of beating a top team.
[00:53:23] Man, I thought it –
[00:53:24] I didn't think they were –
[00:53:25] You know, I thought we started talking about that being a tough game before we even –
[00:53:29] Before they even went on their little run and beat us.
[00:53:31] Yeah, exactly.
[00:53:32] Yeah.
[00:53:33] So.
[00:53:35] You and Monroe, like we said, you absolutely should beat them.
[00:53:38] They're first place in the Sun Belt.
[00:53:39] They're a five-in-one team.
[00:53:40] Their only loss is at Texas.
[00:53:43] Yeah.
[00:53:44] They're handling their business.
[00:53:46] Yeah.
[00:53:46] They got, you know –
[00:53:47] And then, of course, we mentioned you end with Texas A&M comes to town.
[00:53:51] Guess what?
[00:53:51] Texas A&M is playing really good right now.
[00:53:53] Yeah.
[00:53:54] And then you go to Tuscaloosa for the Iron Bowl where it's been a while since you've actually –
[00:53:59] You know, it's been since 2010, you know, the cam back since they won in Tuscaloosa.
[00:54:05] And that was an extraordinary –
[00:54:07] Yeah.
[00:54:08] Yeah.
[00:54:08] But usually Tuscaloosa is where they go to get their ass kicked by Alabama.
[00:54:12] Yeah.
[00:54:14] Absolutely.
[00:54:15] We'll see with this year's team.
[00:54:16] But, again, that seems like a game that's not likely the way that even as, you know,
[00:54:20] shoddy as Alabama's looking now, it's not a game that if you watch this Auburn team,
[00:54:25] you think, oh, yeah, they go in the Tuscaloosa and win.
[00:54:27] Yeah.
[00:54:28] And I feel where Jordan here, I'm scared.
[00:54:32] Yeah.
[00:54:33] And Tuscaloosa, I feel better even with this team.
[00:54:37] Yeah.
[00:54:38] Yeah.
[00:54:39] Auburn doesn't –
[00:54:39] I think if you're generous there, you give Auburn –
[00:54:42] Two.
[00:54:44] Two?
[00:54:44] Yeah.
[00:54:45] Like three would be great.
[00:54:46] Three's pushing it.
[00:54:47] If you beat Kentucky, say you beat Kentucky Vandy and UL Monroe, then you lose the other two.
[00:54:53] Obviously, if they get UL Monroe and say they somehow win the Iron Bowl or something,
[00:54:58] then Auburn fans probably think that's okay.
[00:55:00] Yeah.
[00:55:01] That probably saves Gus's job.
[00:55:03] Yeah.
[00:55:03] Absolutely.
[00:55:04] But if there's a chance they lose all five or there's a chance, like you said,
[00:55:08] they beat Monroe like they should, but they lose their SEC games,
[00:55:11] and then you just had a winless season in the SEC.
[00:55:13] A winless season.
[00:55:15] You have to ask serious questions.
[00:55:17] When has that ever happened?
[00:55:20] Has it ever?
[00:55:21] Never, right?
[00:55:21] In general.
[00:55:23] You know what I'm saying?
[00:55:24] Auburn has never had a –
[00:55:26] That, I don't know.
[00:55:27] Yeah, I doubt.
[00:55:28] I wouldn't think.
[00:55:29] In my lifetime, I know for a fact they haven't.
[00:55:35] Like that.
[00:55:36] You know, as hot-headed as they get in the past in the wrong time.
[00:55:42] I mean, these are the guys that flew people in when people were winning games.
[00:55:48] I mean, this is a wild bunch.
[00:55:53] I mean, they made up a whole sexual relationships trying to get rid of their last coach.
[00:56:02] I mean, this is a wild bunch.
[00:56:04] And he didn't even do anything.
[00:56:06] He hadn't even done anything wrong.
[00:56:09] I mean –
[00:56:10] Let's see.
[00:56:11] Yeah.
[00:56:11] It looks like I got one in 1941.
[00:56:14] Auburn went 0-4-1 in the SEC.
[00:56:16] Okay.
[00:56:17] That's World War II.
[00:56:18] So, who knew who was playing?
[00:56:20] Yeah.
[00:56:20] They went 0-4 in 1944.
[00:56:24] Oh, okay.
[00:56:25] 0-7 in 48-50.
[00:56:27] So, they were back in 52 as well.
[00:56:30] Yeah.
[00:56:31] So, and then Ralph Jordan came in and turned that shit around.
[00:56:35] And, you know, they were a solid team.
[00:56:37] I mean, he was there for, what, 20-some years.
[00:56:40] Yeah.
[00:56:41] Oh, they went 0-6 in 1980 before Pat Dye came in.
[00:56:45] Oh, okay.
[00:56:48] But other than that, yeah.
[00:56:49] Like, so –
[00:56:50] I know I like –
[00:56:50] Oh, wait.
[00:56:51] You know what?
[00:56:51] Yeah.
[00:56:52] Gene Chizik.
[00:56:53] 2012.
[00:56:54] 0-8 Auburn.
[00:56:56] Wow.
[00:56:56] There it is.
[00:56:57] So, that –
[00:56:58] That was her best.
[00:56:59] Yeah.
[00:57:00] Exactly.
[00:57:00] I mean, that was bad, but they –
[00:57:02] That was 2012.
[00:57:04] He won a national –
[00:57:05] And he won a national title.
[00:57:08] In 2012.
[00:57:08] And they fired him.
[00:57:10] Within two years.
[00:57:11] Yeah.
[00:57:11] So, I don't know if you can justify keeping Gus if he goes 0-8 in SEC play.
[00:57:17] Because that would make them –
[00:57:20] I don't even know.
[00:57:21] What's their –
[00:57:23] I mean –
[00:57:24] That would give them, what, three wins on the year?
[00:57:26] Four?
[00:57:27] Three?
[00:57:28] Three.
[00:57:29] Because they have two wins now.
[00:57:31] Yeah.
[00:57:32] If they beat –
[00:57:32] Yeah.
[00:57:33] If they beat you on Monroe, that would be their third win.
[00:57:34] Yeah.
[00:57:35] If you don't get the –
[00:57:36] At what point –
[00:57:37] So, all right.
[00:57:38] Say he goes –
[00:57:39] He loses to Kentucky Vanderbilt.
[00:57:41] And then if they lose to you –
[00:57:43] You let him finish the season?
[00:57:44] Yeah.
[00:57:44] I was about to say, yeah.
[00:57:45] If he loses to Monroe, do you pull the trigger then?
[00:57:47] If they beat Monroe, but maybe Texas A&M beats the shit out of him,
[00:57:51] do you pull the trigger?
[00:57:52] Yeah.
[00:57:52] You got to let recruits know, like, hey, we're trying to fix this.
[00:57:56] I don't know.
[00:57:58] It's a messy situation.
[00:57:59] Stuff opens up in December now.
[00:58:02] And that's your main recruiting day.
[00:58:04] And the portal opens up.
[00:58:06] It's a lot –
[00:58:07] Everything moves so fast nowadays.
[00:58:09] Like, you got to be ready to go if you're going to make these moves.
[00:58:12] You can't sit around.
[00:58:14] So, I mean, that's ugly.
[00:58:16] Yeah, let's move on.
[00:58:18] Yeah, it's ugly.
[00:58:19] Let's move on.
[00:58:20] The rest of the SEC, we mentioned that Florida game.
[00:58:22] A good win for Billy Napier.
[00:58:24] Good win for Florida.
[00:58:27] Like we said, defense looked great.
[00:58:29] Five Russian touchdowns.
[00:58:31] Yeah.
[00:58:32] Running game looked good.
[00:58:33] They get a bye week before they go to Georgia.
[00:58:35] And, of course, you know, they have at Texas, LSU, Ole Miss,
[00:58:39] and at Florida State.
[00:58:40] Right.
[00:58:41] They need two wins to get to a bowl.
[00:58:43] Yeah.
[00:58:44] You think they can do it?
[00:58:48] Florida State, they beat.
[00:58:50] And they need one other one.
[00:58:52] I don't know.
[00:58:55] It's tough.
[00:58:55] I don't know.
[00:58:56] You have to pull.
[00:58:58] So, here I'll phrase the question differently.
[00:59:04] Does that –
[00:59:05] So, that would assume that if you get Florida State,
[00:59:08] we give them Florida State,
[00:59:09] that means to get to a bowl they have to beat one of either Georgia,
[00:59:12] Texas, LSU, or Ole Miss.
[00:59:14] Is that enough to save his job?
[00:59:16] Yes.
[00:59:17] I think it is.
[00:59:19] I would keep them, too, myself.
[00:59:20] I would give them one more chance.
[00:59:22] Because, A, the team responded in some aspect after that Texas A&M loss.
[00:59:31] Mm-hmm.
[00:59:31] They looked a lot different, a lot better.
[00:59:34] Yeah.
[00:59:35] Could have –
[00:59:35] Could have –
[00:59:36] Should have won Tennessee, you know.
[00:59:38] Yeah, they could have –
[00:59:38] Should have won Tennessee.
[00:59:40] But you can at least excuse it like,
[00:59:42] oh, it was in Knoxville.
[00:59:43] It was in Knoxville.
[00:59:44] If that game's in a swamp, maybe it goes different.
[00:59:46] You know, maybe they're on the four-handed roster.
[00:59:48] You know, we lose our quarterback.
[00:59:49] He tells us, Keeley.
[00:59:55] You know, now we're strictly Lackway.
[00:59:57] So, I mean, against –
[00:59:59] I mean, they should have beat Tennessee.
[01:00:01] I mean, they come back and they house the Kentucky team
[01:00:04] that they've struggled with for the last three years.
[01:00:07] First win in the series since 2020.
[01:00:09] Yeah.
[01:00:09] So, I mean, they've struggled there and you get the big win.
[01:00:13] I guess –
[01:00:14] Yeah.
[01:00:15] Against the Jekyll and Hyde Kentucky team.
[01:00:17] You don't know what you're getting there every week.
[01:00:19] Mm-hmm.
[01:00:20] They're a team that's hard to figure out.
[01:00:22] But then if you look at it –
[01:00:26] Now, what –
[01:00:27] Now, look in the schedule right now.
[01:00:29] What games are in Gainesville?
[01:00:33] They get LSU and Ole Miss in Gainesville.
[01:00:39] I'm winning.
[01:00:39] The cocktail party in Jacksonville is always –
[01:00:41] If you're going to get one –
[01:00:43] Yeah, of course, Ole Miss always in Jacksonville.
[01:00:45] But if you're going to get one, I would put my money on Ole Miss.
[01:00:51] Me too, probably with the way the Ole Miss seems to be –
[01:00:54] Because we don't know.
[01:00:55] Yeah, Ole Miss not playing well right now.
[01:00:58] They had a bye this week.
[01:01:00] Mm-hmm.
[01:01:00] Mm-hmm.
[01:01:01] They get –
[01:01:01] Luckily, they get Oklahoma and Oxford next week.
[01:01:04] Yeah.
[01:01:05] That's the –
[01:01:06] I would say the other thing, though, that's going –
[01:01:10] They have going for them despite how well LSU is starting to play.
[01:01:13] That series is always crazy, man.
[01:01:16] I mean –
[01:01:16] That's a crazy rivalry.
[01:01:18] You never know what's going to happen.
[01:01:19] So, anything can happen.
[01:01:21] And, yeah, if he still –
[01:01:22] I mean, obviously, I think if he upsets Georgia somehow,
[01:01:25] you've got to keep him.
[01:01:26] Oh, boy.
[01:01:26] What happens with the –
[01:01:27] You've got to keep him at that.
[01:01:28] Yeah, that's just huge.
[01:01:29] Yeah.
[01:01:30] But I think even if he doesn't –
[01:01:32] If he only beats FSU for the rest of the season, I'm keeping him.
[01:01:37] Just because who are you bringing in?
[01:01:42] Unless you have the absolutely great next –
[01:01:47] You know, for a while, people were starting to talk about Lane Kiffin.
[01:01:51] Mm-hmm.
[01:01:52] I think that name's cooled off a little bit.
[01:01:54] I don't think I'm bringing in Lane Kiffin right now.
[01:01:59] I mean, I don't know.
[01:02:01] I don't know who –
[01:02:02] Who were you bringing in?
[01:02:04] Who's coming to Florida?
[01:02:05] Yeah, I think at this point, you have to see a noticeable drop-off or, you know, regression from this.
[01:02:12] You know, right now they're –
[01:02:13] If you're not even lost in all those games?
[01:02:43] Yeah.
[01:02:43] A couple of them, top ten.
[01:02:45] Three of them, top ten, in fact.
[01:02:48] But you beat Florida State.
[01:02:50] Yeah, I agree.
[01:02:50] That's not a bowl, but that's enough to show, like, hey, this team progressed.
[01:02:54] If we can –
[01:02:55] You know, as long as the recruiting class is good.
[01:02:57] Yeah.
[01:02:58] Maybe we have one more year because we don't need to – you know, we've been cycling through coaches since Urban Meyer retired.
[01:03:04] Got our quarterback.
[01:03:05] Yeah, we got – exactly.
[01:03:07] You got your quarterback, man.
[01:03:08] And if you can hold on to him, if he's committed to Napier, then –
[01:03:12] Yeah, that's the other thing, too.
[01:03:13] Yeah, you have to consider that.
[01:03:17] If you get rid of Napier and I lose – cause you to lose lag weight, yikes.
[01:03:25] Yikes, indeed.
[01:03:25] Indeed.
[01:03:27] Let's move on to see elsewhere in the SEC.
[01:03:30] We mentioned South Carolina went into Norman and just –
[01:03:33] Oh, wow.
[01:03:34] Beat the hell.
[01:03:35] 32-3 at halftime.
[01:03:36] Oh.
[01:03:37] All over.
[01:03:39] Jack – we saw Jackson Arnold again.
[01:03:41] The –
[01:03:43] OU's –
[01:03:44] They're a mess right now.
[01:03:45] They just fired their OC today.
[01:03:46] Did they?
[01:03:47] I didn't see that.
[01:03:47] Oh, there you go.
[01:03:48] Yeah, they're on three.
[01:03:49] I saw them on three.
[01:03:50] They fired us up a trail today.
[01:03:53] Well, there you go.
[01:03:54] They're starting to make changes.
[01:03:56] They realize they cannot afford to fall behind in the new conference now.
[01:04:01] Absolutely not.
[01:04:02] Texas A&M, we mentioned them.
[01:04:03] Great start.
[01:04:04] They went into Starkville.
[01:04:07] It's a better game than I thought.
[01:04:09] Speaking of finding their quarterbacks, it looks like State –
[01:04:11] you kind of mentioned this last week.
[01:04:13] It looks like they have their quarterback.
[01:04:15] Yeah.
[01:04:16] He put up big numbers second week in a row there.
[01:04:19] Yeah.
[01:04:19] Those good teams.
[01:04:20] Yeah.
[01:04:21] We know that's a work in progress there for Jeff Libby,
[01:04:24] but I think maybe State fans should be happy that they're starting to be competitive.
[01:04:28] Yeah.
[01:04:30] I don't know.
[01:04:31] Let's pull up their schedule real quick.
[01:04:33] It's not a friendly schedule at all.
[01:04:37] It's not.
[01:04:38] You got Arkansas at home.
[01:04:39] Hey, you never know.
[01:04:40] If you're going to steal an SEC game, that's probably your chance right there.
[01:04:44] Either that or, of course, the Egg Bowl.
[01:04:46] Who the hell knows what whatever.
[01:04:47] Right.
[01:04:48] That's how it's –
[01:04:49] Oh.
[01:04:49] Oh.
[01:04:50] Yeah, I mean –
[01:04:51] Is the Egg Bowl not Thanksgiving night this year?
[01:04:54] Friday at 2.30.
[01:04:55] What?
[01:04:57] I hope that's awesome.
[01:05:00] No.
[01:05:04] Are we serious?
[01:05:05] The Egg Bowl is not on Thanksgiving night?
[01:05:08] Like, I look forward to that.
[01:05:10] What does that say?
[01:05:11] Is this not a –
[01:05:13] Wow.
[01:05:14] I mean, ESPN has it at 2.30.
[01:05:17] Friday.
[01:05:17] Friday the 29th.
[01:05:19] Interesting.
[01:05:20] I'm not sure.
[01:05:21] I don't like that.
[01:05:21] I don't like that at all.
[01:05:23] I mean, that's a –
[01:05:25] Apparently, it's only been played on Thanksgiving 23 times.
[01:05:27] That's interesting.
[01:05:28] Oh.
[01:05:29] It's just so recent.
[01:05:30] I'm not every year.
[01:05:32] Hmm.
[01:05:33] Yeah.
[01:05:34] Hmm.
[01:05:36] One of the most underrated rivalries in all the sports.
[01:05:39] Just because –
[01:05:40] Yeah.
[01:05:40] Absolutely one of my favorites.
[01:05:41] I believe I wrote an article on The Take some years ago now about my favorite rivalries,
[01:05:47] and it's up there.
[01:05:48] I often joke with people –
[01:05:50] You know, my wife, obviously, Alabama family, Alabama graduate herself,
[01:05:53] but an Alabama family, even though she grew up in Mississippi.
[01:05:57] Uh-huh.
[01:05:58] Yeah.
[01:05:58] I do joke sometimes with them that, like, I wish one of y'all were really into this.
[01:06:02] Like, I wish that this was a state family or an Ole Miss family just so I could be,
[01:06:07] like, witness this rivalry firsthand.
[01:06:10] You know, they do have some extended family that are big state fans.
[01:06:13] Yeah.
[01:06:14] But I'm like, man, I want to be in this.
[01:06:16] Like, I'd love to go to this game.
[01:06:17] I want to watch it.
[01:06:18] Yeah.
[01:06:18] Man, that would be fun getting to go to just as an outsider,
[01:06:22] just to watch what the atmosphere is like.
[01:06:25] But, because obviously, I mean, I think we knew it was a big thing.
[01:06:32] But, man, when you look at it and everything that happened with you,
[01:06:35] freeze in the fact that they went out of their way to find out them phone numbers.
[01:06:39] And, man, it's deep.
[01:06:41] It is deep.
[01:06:42] Yeah.
[01:06:43] Oh, yeah.
[01:06:44] It's one of those true hatred rivalries.
[01:06:46] Oh, absolutely.
[01:06:48] But, yeah, just saying, I think they do have their guy.
[01:06:51] Oh, yeah.
[01:06:52] Their quarterback, at least.
[01:06:53] And, you know, we knew they were going to be rebuilt.
[01:06:56] So.
[01:06:56] Yeah.
[01:06:58] That's the way it goes for them.
[01:07:00] Mm-hmm.
[01:07:02] Let's look around the rest of the country here.
[01:07:05] Trying to think if there's any more.
[01:07:07] Nothing I have directly in my notes.
[01:07:09] Oh, sorry.
[01:07:10] What?
[01:07:11] Yeah, you got anything that we're not?
[01:07:13] Yeah, absolutely.
[01:07:15] The Colorado housed Arizona yesterday.
[01:07:18] Oh, yes, they did.
[01:07:19] Absolutely housed them.
[01:07:20] So, I thought Colorado might win that game.
[01:07:23] But the way that they won that game shocked me.
[01:07:28] And, you know, it was another crazy day in the – just overall, of course,
[01:07:34] another Big 12 type of –
[01:07:36] Yeah, let's see.
[01:07:37] I mean, you look Friday night.
[01:07:40] Oh, BYU.
[01:07:41] Yeah, there we go.
[01:07:42] Oklahoma State was up a decent amount.
[01:07:46] And, you know, get to it a little later just because, you know,
[01:07:50] you're doing stuff Friday night.
[01:07:52] But, you know, it's late enough that everybody else has kind of gone to sleep
[01:07:56] and I'm still up.
[01:07:57] So, I'm like, well, let's get this a little – oh, wow.
[01:08:00] Oklahoma State's winning this.
[01:08:01] And then, you know, back and forth.
[01:08:04] And then Oklahoma State scores a touchdown.
[01:08:08] It's only a minute some left.
[01:08:10] And BYU went all the way up the field, scored with like 10 seconds to get the win.
[01:08:14] And it's just like, man, BYU's just destined for greatness this year, obviously.
[01:08:19] Just a fantastic game there.
[01:08:23] Do you know you had Baylor, as bad as they've been, went into Waco and house tech.
[01:08:31] Oh, yeah, that was a surprise.
[01:08:33] Yeah.
[01:08:34] Then you have UCF who struggled the last month basically, goes into Ames
[01:08:40] and Iowa State has to win at the end there.
[01:08:44] Absolutely insane.
[01:08:46] Yeah.
[01:08:46] Yeah.
[01:08:48] A three and four.
[01:08:49] Yeah.
[01:08:49] I mean, they were three and three.
[01:08:53] Excuse me.
[01:08:55] Excuse me.
[01:08:56] Going into that.
[01:08:57] With three straight losses.
[01:08:59] You think Iowa State and Ames was actually going to house them.
[01:09:03] And they had to score a touchdown with 30 seconds to get the win.
[01:09:08] Yeah.
[01:09:09] Insane.
[01:09:10] You mentioned Colorado.
[01:09:11] Yeah.
[01:09:11] That, uh, right now just absolutely bonkers.
[01:09:17] Yeah.
[01:09:18] I mean, you look at the standings.
[01:09:19] You have BYU 4-0.
[01:09:22] Iowa State 4-0.
[01:09:23] Kansas State smacked from West Virginia and Morgantown yesterday.
[01:09:27] They're three and one.
[01:09:29] Tech, despite the loss, is still three and one.
[01:09:32] Cincinnati's three and one, who beat Arizona State.
[01:09:37] Good win for them.
[01:09:39] Colorado three and one.
[01:09:41] So you only have one, two, three, four.
[01:09:42] You have seven teams that could win the Big 12 right now.
[01:09:45] Yeah, it is a hot race.
[01:09:49] Next week, let's see.
[01:09:51] Next week, you got Texas Tech visiting Iowa State.
[01:09:55] Yeah.
[01:09:56] And that's your big one next week.
[01:09:58] A couple teams off.
[01:10:01] But yeah.
[01:10:04] I'm trying to think.
[01:10:04] You have, what, week nine and, uh, you have, well, it's Texas Tech TCU next week.
[01:10:14] We, Cincinnati, well, Colorado, Cincinnati might be interesting.
[01:10:18] Oh, yeah.
[01:10:19] I missed it.
[01:10:20] No, yeah.
[01:10:20] I have it a wrong week.
[01:10:22] It is not a.
[01:10:23] So you have Colorado and, uh, Cincinnati.
[01:10:27] Yeah, it's not Texas Tech at Iowa State there.
[01:10:29] That's the week after.
[01:10:31] So TCU, Texas Tech.
[01:10:33] I mean, usually a wild game between those two.
[01:10:37] Yeah, Cincinnati, Colorado, your nightcap there.
[01:10:39] Yeah.
[01:10:40] Like you mentioned, two one-loss teams.
[01:10:41] That'll be big for trying to get into that.
[01:10:44] Whoever wins that.
[01:10:45] Yeah.
[01:10:46] A little prime time, too.
[01:10:47] It'll be fun.
[01:10:48] Late night?
[01:10:49] Yeah.
[01:10:49] Fun one.
[01:10:50] Um, you have Kent.
[01:10:51] Well, it's just fun because of rivalry.
[01:10:53] Kansas is horrible.
[01:10:55] Kansas State should house them, but that's always usually a fun game.
[01:10:59] Um.
[01:11:00] Houston, Utah.
[01:11:02] Yeah.
[01:11:03] Um, but.
[01:11:06] You know.
[01:11:07] Yeah.
[01:11:08] But really, I guess next week, not the greatest, but.
[01:11:12] Still some.
[01:11:13] That night.
[01:11:14] It could be good games.
[01:11:15] I mean, it's just nothing that's like.
[01:11:18] Really earth shattering.
[01:11:19] But yeah, that's Cincinnati, Colorado.
[01:11:20] That would definitely be interesting.
[01:11:22] Um.
[01:11:23] Just because we're both.
[01:11:24] Next week.
[01:11:24] Yeah.
[01:11:25] Yeah.
[01:11:25] That's your headliner.
[01:11:26] But the.
[01:11:28] Seeing how this stuff goes.
[01:11:30] I would say.
[01:11:32] Watch out.
[01:11:33] BYU going to Orlando to face UCF.
[01:11:37] Yeah.
[01:11:38] Right.
[01:11:38] Uh.
[01:11:38] Gus Buss.
[01:11:39] House of Horrors.
[01:11:40] Just when you think they're looking bad is when they.
[01:11:43] Creep up.
[01:11:44] They're thinking about.
[01:11:45] Exactly.
[01:11:45] Um.
[01:11:46] Let's see.
[01:11:46] Let's move on.
[01:11:47] Let's go across the country just real quick.
[01:11:49] Uh.
[01:11:49] ACC.
[01:11:50] Clemson looked good again.
[01:11:52] Um.
[01:11:52] They did.
[01:11:53] You got to wonder though.
[01:11:54] Just.
[01:11:54] You know.
[01:11:55] Is this.
[01:11:56] Are they.
[01:11:57] You know.
[01:11:57] We won't really know.
[01:11:59] How real this is.
[01:12:00] I guess.
[01:12:01] I mean.
[01:12:01] Honestly.
[01:12:01] We'll probably get a little preview at Pitt.
[01:12:04] Uh.
[01:12:04] In the middle of November.
[01:12:06] But honestly.
[01:12:06] Until.
[01:12:07] They.
[01:12:08] They play someone like a Miami.
[01:12:10] Yeah.
[01:12:11] Maybe an SMU.
[01:12:12] We'll talk about them in just a second.
[01:12:13] And the.
[01:12:14] ACC title.
[01:12:15] And then in the playoff.
[01:12:16] You know.
[01:12:17] With this schedule.
[01:12:18] That's completely.
[01:12:19] They're able to win out.
[01:12:20] And finish the regular season.
[01:12:21] 11 and 1.
[01:12:22] And.
[01:12:23] You would think that.
[01:12:24] Regardless of.
[01:12:25] What happens in the ACC title game.
[01:12:27] 11 and 2.
[01:12:28] Clemson would get in.
[01:12:30] I would think so.
[01:12:31] But.
[01:12:32] And then again.
[01:12:33] And who knows.
[01:12:35] You know.
[01:12:35] You would think.
[01:12:36] You would think so.
[01:12:37] But.
[01:12:38] Man.
[01:12:38] Yeah.
[01:12:38] We don't know how this is going to go.
[01:12:40] The first year.
[01:12:41] Uh.
[01:12:41] Mentioned SMU.
[01:12:42] 40 to 10.
[01:12:43] Over Stanford.
[01:12:44] Out there.
[01:12:44] In Palo Alto.
[01:12:45] Man.
[01:12:47] Mustangs are looking good.
[01:12:48] They are looking good.
[01:12:50] Um.
[01:12:51] You know.
[01:12:51] The only concern I had with them.
[01:12:53] This week.
[01:12:53] Was just that travel.
[01:12:55] That.
[01:12:55] Just because folks are getting used to this whole.
[01:12:58] Not nearly as far as something.
[01:12:59] But still.
[01:13:00] It's a long trip from Dallas.
[01:13:01] To.
[01:13:02] Mm-hmm.
[01:13:02] Palo Alto.
[01:13:03] So.
[01:13:03] But yeah.
[01:13:04] Absolutely.
[01:13:04] House.
[01:13:06] And.
[01:13:07] Every time I see Stanford now.
[01:13:09] I wonder.
[01:13:10] How the hell did they go into Syracuse.
[01:13:12] And get that win?
[01:13:13] I do not understand.
[01:13:15] That was a weird.
[01:13:16] Weird one man.
[01:13:17] Um.
[01:13:17] Yeah.
[01:13:18] Looking at the standings.
[01:13:20] You got another log to have five.
[01:13:21] Or excuse me.
[01:13:22] Four unbeaten teams.
[01:13:23] At the top of that stand.
[01:13:24] In Clemson.
[01:13:25] Miami.
[01:13:25] SMU.
[01:13:26] Pitt.
[01:13:27] Uh.
[01:13:27] Next week.
[01:13:28] Uh.
[01:13:29] Pitt hosts Syracuse.
[01:13:30] On Thursday.
[01:13:32] Oh.
[01:13:32] Miami.
[01:13:33] Of course.
[01:13:33] We mentioned Miami.
[01:13:34] He's got Florida State.
[01:13:35] But that Pitt.
[01:13:36] That Pitt.
[01:13:37] Clemson.
[01:13:37] Yeah.
[01:13:38] Clemson's off.
[01:13:39] And of course.
[01:13:39] SMU visits Duke.
[01:13:41] One loss.
[01:13:42] And the.
[01:13:43] That would be interesting.
[01:13:44] Yeah.
[01:13:44] Duke.
[01:13:45] Tough team.
[01:13:46] Man.
[01:13:47] Manny Diaz has got them playing well.
[01:13:49] Well.
[01:13:49] I mean.
[01:13:49] We'll finally beat Florida State for the first time ever.
[01:13:52] I won 22 before.
[01:13:54] Last Friday.
[01:13:55] I.
[01:13:56] Really.
[01:13:57] Did not know that.
[01:13:58] Oh.
[01:13:58] I won 22.
[01:14:01] Uh.
[01:14:02] But yeah.
[01:14:02] They got that Friday win over.
[01:14:04] Uh.
[01:14:04] Mentioned.
[01:14:05] Let's go.
[01:14:05] Big.
[01:14:06] Tin.
[01:14:07] Now.
[01:14:08] Um.
[01:14:12] We mentioned Oregon.
[01:14:13] New number one.
[01:14:14] Friday night.
[01:14:14] They easily handle Purdue.
[01:14:16] Uh.
[01:14:17] Wisconsin started looking.
[01:14:18] You know.
[01:14:18] They're looking good in big ten play.
[01:14:19] They're.
[01:14:20] I'm looking better.
[01:14:20] Three and one now.
[01:14:22] Uh.
[01:14:22] We mentioned Michigan State.
[01:14:23] It got some life.
[01:14:24] You know.
[01:14:24] They're.
[01:14:25] A big win over Iowa.
[01:14:26] Big.
[01:14:27] Yeah.
[01:14:28] That was a good win.
[01:14:29] Yeah.
[01:14:31] You look ahead.
[01:14:32] You know.
[01:14:32] Look at their standings.
[01:14:33] Obviously we know who's.
[01:14:34] You know.
[01:14:34] It's Indiana.
[01:14:36] Indiana.
[01:14:37] Powerhouse.
[01:14:37] Penn State.
[01:14:38] Unbeaten at the top.
[01:14:39] Then you got.
[01:14:40] Illinois.
[01:14:41] And Ohio State.
[01:14:42] All one loss.
[01:14:43] Yeah.
[01:14:44] Teams there next week.
[01:14:45] Uh.
[01:14:46] Nebraska has got to try to bounce back.
[01:14:48] They go to the horseshoe.
[01:14:49] And Columbus.
[01:14:50] Oh.
[01:14:50] Indiana hosts Washington.
[01:14:52] Uh.
[01:14:52] Number 20.
[01:14:53] Illinois.
[01:14:53] Uh.
[01:14:54] After their win.
[01:14:54] They go to Eugene.
[01:14:57] So.
[01:14:57] Uh.
[01:14:57] Oof.
[01:14:57] And then.
[01:14:58] Oh man.
[01:14:59] Tough.
[01:15:00] We got the battle for Paul Bunyan's axe.
[01:15:02] Uh.
[01:15:02] Michigan State at Michigan.
[01:15:04] And then Penn State.
[01:15:06] That we mentioned Wisconsin's looking good.
[01:15:07] Penn State.
[01:15:08] Takes their own beaten record there.
[01:15:10] They're going to Camp Randall.
[01:15:11] Oh wow.
[01:15:12] And to Camp Randall.
[01:15:13] At 6.
[01:15:13] At night time too.
[01:15:14] Night game.
[01:15:15] It'll be dark.
[01:15:16] That's a tricky one.
[01:15:17] That's a tricky one.
[01:15:20] Uh.
[01:15:20] Yeah.
[01:15:21] Well yeah.
[01:15:21] This is.
[01:15:22] Oh.
[01:15:23] Yeah.
[01:15:23] That's interesting.
[01:15:24] Just cause.
[01:15:25] James Franklin's history.
[01:15:28] Oof.
[01:15:29] You would.
[01:15:30] Again.
[01:15:31] That's like the USC game.
[01:15:32] One you have to win.
[01:15:33] If you want to show that you're.
[01:15:34] A big dog.
[01:15:36] Um.
[01:15:36] But.
[01:15:38] Yeah.
[01:15:38] Um.
[01:15:39] Oof.
[01:15:40] That's crazy.
[01:15:41] Oregon's a 21 and a half point favorite over Illinois.
[01:15:44] Oof.
[01:15:45] Man.
[01:15:46] Uh.
[01:15:46] We mentioned that we'll go move the SEC.
[01:15:49] We didn't talk about next week really with him.
[01:15:51] But we got Oklahoma.
[01:15:52] Goes to Oxford.
[01:15:54] Ole Miss had the week off.
[01:15:56] Jeez.
[01:15:56] That's.
[01:15:57] That's it.
[01:15:57] 20 and a half point favorite.
[01:15:58] Yeah.
[01:15:59] And that's a big statement right there.
[01:16:00] Ole Miss has got to make to be.
[01:16:02] To.
[01:16:02] Yeah.
[01:16:03] Stay in contention.
[01:16:04] Yeah.
[01:16:05] Absolutely.
[01:16:06] Um.
[01:16:07] Missouri.
[01:16:08] Alabama.
[01:16:09] Of course we know.
[01:16:10] Texas.
[01:16:10] At Vandy.
[01:16:11] You know.
[01:16:11] Can Vandy do the absolutely unthinkable.
[01:16:14] Would be insane.
[01:16:14] I don't.
[01:16:15] I don't give Vegas right now though.
[01:16:18] 14.
[01:16:20] 14 for us.
[01:16:22] Yeah.
[01:16:22] Whether they see that we don't.
[01:16:24] I don't see.
[01:16:26] I hope they're right.
[01:16:27] I mean granted.
[01:16:27] Like I said.
[01:16:28] Missouri has not lived up to their hype at all.
[01:16:30] But.
[01:16:31] At this point I wouldn't.
[01:16:33] But we're not playing well.
[01:16:34] At all.
[01:16:35] I'll be there right now.
[01:16:36] If I were to go place a ticket right now.
[01:16:38] I'm doing that plus 14.
[01:16:39] Absolutely.
[01:16:40] Absolutely.
[01:16:41] The big one next week.
[01:16:43] LSU at A&M.
[01:16:43] Like we said.
[01:16:44] The actual leaders in the SEC.
[01:16:46] Uh huh.
[01:16:47] 630.
[01:16:47] ABC.
[01:16:48] 2 and a half.
[01:16:49] Kyle Field.
[01:16:50] Yeah.
[01:16:50] A&M 2 and a half.
[01:16:51] And um.
[01:16:53] LSU struggled to Kyle Field.
[01:16:55] They have.
[01:16:56] They have struggled.
[01:16:57] Yeah.
[01:16:58] It's crazy.
[01:16:59] So that's a.
[01:17:00] That should be a.
[01:17:01] Man that should be a hell of a game.
[01:17:03] Yeah.
[01:17:03] And as you're watching that.
[01:17:04] You can keep an eye on Auburn at.
[01:17:06] You know.
[01:17:06] Up in Lexington.
[01:17:07] Auburn to Lexington.
[01:17:09] 2 and a half.
[01:17:10] Yeah.
[01:17:12] Let's.
[01:17:12] That's right.
[01:17:13] Some other.
[01:17:14] You know.
[01:17:15] Let's.
[01:17:15] Army Navy.
[01:17:16] Still unbeaten.
[01:17:17] Uh.
[01:17:17] Army.
[01:17:18] Took care of East Carolina.
[01:17:19] Navy.
[01:17:20] Really took care of Charlotte.
[01:17:21] But.
[01:17:21] Man.
[01:17:22] They both housed.
[01:17:23] Yeah.
[01:17:23] Just.
[01:17:23] Yeah.
[01:17:24] Absolutely.
[01:17:24] Just crushed them.
[01:17:26] Uh.
[01:17:26] It's.
[01:17:26] It's just crazy man.
[01:17:27] And.
[01:17:28] We have.
[01:17:29] Chance to have such a weird situation with.
[01:17:31] Those two meeting in the.
[01:17:33] American Athletic title game.
[01:17:35] And then playing again the next week.
[01:17:37] Yeah.
[01:17:38] Because uh.
[01:17:39] The uh.
[01:17:39] Army Navy game.
[01:17:40] The official one is not a conference game.
[01:17:42] They.
[01:17:42] Did that when they.
[01:17:44] When Army moved to the conference.
[01:17:46] They agreed that.
[01:17:47] They would keep that as like basically a.
[01:17:50] As a.
[01:17:51] A showcase for the two academies.
[01:17:53] So.
[01:17:54] The only time they can actually play a conference game.
[01:17:56] Would be in the conference title game.
[01:17:57] And that's a possibility.
[01:17:59] Of course right behind them.
[01:18:00] Tulane.
[01:18:01] Three and oh in conference play.
[01:18:02] They really.
[01:18:03] Yeah.
[01:18:04] Yeah.
[01:18:05] Yeah.
[01:18:06] They uh.
[01:18:07] Took care of Rice this weekend.
[01:18:10] Memphis and North Texas played a crazy one.
[01:18:12] Memphis is right there too.
[01:18:14] One of those teams that.
[01:18:16] Sneaking.
[01:18:17] You know.
[01:18:17] Trying to sneak in that playoff.
[01:18:18] Right.
[01:18:19] Yeah.
[01:18:20] Uh.
[01:18:21] Conference USA action.
[01:18:23] Yeah.
[01:18:23] Uh.
[01:18:24] I don't think there's really.
[01:18:25] You know.
[01:18:26] Western Kentucky.
[01:18:27] And Sam Houston had a big one last Wednesday.
[01:18:30] It's tough for me to see anybody really in conference USA.
[01:18:33] No.
[01:18:35] Uh.
[01:18:35] Liberty you know.
[01:18:35] Everyone talks about them.
[01:18:36] They're unbeaten.
[01:18:37] But their schedule is just so weak.
[01:18:38] So bad.
[01:18:40] Yeah.
[01:18:41] They're not gonna.
[01:18:42] You wonder.
[01:18:42] I don't think.
[01:18:43] Yeah.
[01:18:43] How much would they even honor.
[01:18:45] Uh.
[01:18:46] Unbeaten.
[01:18:48] A Liberty team.
[01:18:49] You know.
[01:18:49] Yeah.
[01:18:50] Because I mean.
[01:18:51] If you have.
[01:18:53] I mean.
[01:18:55] If you have a.
[01:18:57] A one.
[01:18:58] Man.
[01:18:59] Just with the sheer numbers.
[01:19:01] I mean.
[01:19:03] Army and Navy.
[01:19:05] Is gonna do numbers.
[01:19:06] Just because.
[01:19:07] Mm-hmm.
[01:19:08] They have.
[01:19:08] Army and Navy people all over the country.
[01:19:11] Mm-hmm.
[01:19:12] So.
[01:19:13] I mean.
[01:19:13] If it comes down to that type.
[01:19:15] Of course.
[01:19:16] You're gonna pick the.
[01:19:17] The.
[01:19:19] The.
[01:19:20] The.
[01:19:21] You know.
[01:19:22] The service academy school.
[01:19:24] Um.
[01:19:25] I'll tell you what.
[01:19:26] If it gets down.
[01:19:28] Say somehow.
[01:19:29] Some way.
[01:19:30] Army and Navy go unbeaten.
[01:19:33] The loser of the title game.
[01:19:35] Oh my god.
[01:19:35] Turns around and wins the Army-Navy game the next week.
[01:19:38] Let them both in.
[01:19:40] Get them both in.
[01:19:41] Get them both in.
[01:19:41] Right.
[01:19:41] Yeah.
[01:19:42] Absolutely.
[01:19:43] I mean.
[01:19:44] We don't.
[01:19:44] We don't need a three loss.
[01:19:46] Like.
[01:19:46] They're both.
[01:19:47] We don't need a three loss.
[01:19:48] You know.
[01:19:50] I don't know.
[01:19:51] Yeah.
[01:19:51] You just.
[01:19:52] The SEC or the Big Ten.
[01:19:55] Someone's just gonna stay at home.
[01:19:56] Like.
[01:19:57] You can't.
[01:19:57] That's just a story in itself.
[01:20:00] Just for that possibility.
[01:20:02] Especially.
[01:20:02] Cause that means they both beat Notre Dame.
[01:20:05] So.
[01:20:06] So.
[01:20:07] Yeah.
[01:20:08] If it comes down to that.
[01:20:09] And they're.
[01:20:10] Undefeated one week.
[01:20:11] And have a classic game.
[01:20:12] And then the other one wins the following week.
[01:20:14] In the Army-Navy game.
[01:20:16] Absolutely.
[01:20:17] Let's put them both in.
[01:20:18] And make the right decision there.
[01:20:19] Cause that's the story.
[01:20:21] Yeah.
[01:20:21] I will say.
[01:20:22] If you're looking at schedule wise.
[01:20:24] Army has.
[01:20:25] I guess.
[01:20:25] The quote unquote.
[01:20:26] Easier way to get to the.
[01:20:28] Title game.
[01:20:29] Unbeaten.
[01:20:30] They have.
[01:20:30] Granted.
[01:20:31] You know.
[01:20:31] They get Air Force.
[01:20:32] In two weeks.
[01:20:33] Air Force.
[01:20:34] Not looking great this year.
[01:20:36] Right.
[01:20:37] You get.
[01:20:37] At North Texas.
[01:20:39] That's a tricky one.
[01:20:39] Then you get Notre Dame.
[01:20:41] And UTSA.
[01:20:43] Navy.
[01:20:44] In turn.
[01:20:45] They still have to play.
[01:20:46] As far as.
[01:20:46] You know.
[01:20:46] Conference games too.
[01:20:47] They have to play.
[01:20:49] Tulane.
[01:20:51] It's in Annapolis.
[01:20:52] But.
[01:20:53] They do get Notre Dame next weekend.
[01:20:56] Is it in Annapolis?
[01:20:58] It's.
[01:20:58] Or is it neutral site?
[01:20:59] Probably neutral site.
[01:21:01] If it's up there.
[01:21:01] Probably Baltimore or something.
[01:21:03] It's in East Rutherford.
[01:21:04] Yeah.
[01:21:05] MetLife.
[01:21:06] Where does Army play then?
[01:21:08] That's interesting.
[01:21:09] Is that also.
[01:21:10] I could see that.
[01:21:12] MetLife.
[01:21:14] No.
[01:21:14] They're playing.
[01:21:14] Oh.
[01:21:15] They play.
[01:21:15] Army.
[01:21:16] Notre Dame play Yankee Stadium.
[01:21:18] Oh.
[01:21:19] That's interesting.
[01:21:20] That's interesting.
[01:21:21] Yeah.
[01:21:22] Elsewhere.
[01:21:25] Lost my.
[01:21:26] Tab here.
[01:21:28] Trying to look ahead.
[01:21:31] Uh.
[01:21:32] Yeah.
[01:21:32] That's probably it for.
[01:21:33] I guess your teams that.
[01:21:35] Are threatening to.
[01:21:37] Well.
[01:21:38] I mean.
[01:21:38] Am I missing a mid-major here?
[01:21:40] I was about to say.
[01:21:40] ULV's still around.
[01:21:42] Um.
[01:21:42] They had a good win.
[01:21:43] Uh.
[01:21:43] Eight point win there.
[01:21:45] Went up to Oregon State.
[01:21:46] Got the win there.
[01:21:48] Mm-hmm.
[01:21:48] Another team still 6-1 on the season.
[01:21:51] One loss is.
[01:21:52] But Syracuse.
[01:21:53] So.
[01:21:54] You know.
[01:21:55] Still alive in ACC.
[01:21:57] I mean.
[01:21:57] A big game.
[01:21:59] Oh.
[01:21:59] That's a big game.
[01:22:01] Friday night.
[01:22:02] UNLV.
[01:22:03] Boise State.
[01:22:04] Oh.
[01:22:05] There you go.
[01:22:05] Yeah.
[01:22:05] That's who else you get.
[01:22:06] 930.
[01:22:07] CBS Sports Network.
[01:22:08] Mm-hmm.
[01:22:10] Boise State.
[01:22:11] Good to see Mr. Heisman himself.
[01:22:13] They were off this week.
[01:22:14] But yeah.
[01:22:14] Ashton Jinty.
[01:22:16] Can you get another.
[01:22:18] Huge game.
[01:22:19] Boise 2 and 5 point favorite right now.
[01:22:22] That's a point in the view on Friday.
[01:22:23] Yeah.
[01:22:25] In Vegas.
[01:22:26] Oh.
[01:22:26] Yeah.
[01:22:26] That's fun.
[01:22:28] That should be a fun one.
[01:22:29] But yeah.
[01:22:30] I think anything else college-wise.
[01:22:32] On your mind.
[01:22:34] Oh.
[01:22:34] No.
[01:22:35] I think we.
[01:22:36] You know.
[01:22:37] Just.
[01:22:38] Another wild.
[01:22:39] Wild weekend.
[01:22:39] A lot of crazy stuff happened.
[01:22:42] I just.
[01:22:43] I guess it'll be interesting to.
[01:22:48] As we get this deeper into the thing is.
[01:22:51] You know.
[01:22:51] This coaching carousel is going to have to start moving sooner than later.
[01:22:55] Just because of the transfer portal and everything else.
[01:22:58] The interview will start seeing names.
[01:23:00] Yeah.
[01:23:01] The hot seats.
[01:23:02] Hot seats are getting really hot now.
[01:23:04] Yeah.
[01:23:04] About this time.
[01:23:05] Yeah.
[01:23:06] Yeah.
[01:23:07] But yeah.
[01:23:07] Let's move to the pros real quick.
[01:23:09] Talk about.
[01:23:10] You know.
[01:23:10] Not a.
[01:23:12] Not a quiet Sunday.
[01:23:13] But kind of a.
[01:23:14] You know.
[01:23:14] Steady as she goes.
[01:23:15] It was.
[01:23:16] Yeah.
[01:23:17] Yeah.
[01:23:17] The Bills traded for Amari Cooper this week to get.
[01:23:21] Josh Allen.
[01:23:22] A true number one receiver.
[01:23:23] And it paid dividends.
[01:23:24] Man.
[01:23:24] He got a touchdown today.
[01:23:25] He looked good.
[01:23:26] Keon Coleman had his best game in the NFL so far.
[01:23:29] The Bills have gotten their kind of mojo back.
[01:23:32] They slipped there for.
[01:23:33] You know.
[01:23:34] A little bit.
[01:23:35] And they're looking good again.
[01:23:38] Packers and Texans played a great one.
[01:23:41] Packers get the walk off field goal.
[01:23:43] Lions.
[01:23:44] Vikings was a hell of a game.
[01:23:46] Absolutely great.
[01:23:47] Vikings now.
[01:23:48] No longer unbeaten as Detroit went in.
[01:23:50] And yeah.
[01:23:51] Went up big.
[01:23:52] And then.
[01:23:53] Vikings came back.
[01:23:54] And then.
[01:23:55] Lions got the ball at the end.
[01:23:56] And then another late field goal.
[01:23:59] Yep.
[01:24:00] Saquon Barkley had his revenge game.
[01:24:03] Jeez.
[01:24:03] Did he.
[01:24:04] All over.
[01:24:05] All over.
[01:24:07] The Eagles.
[01:24:10] Man.
[01:24:10] Jaden Daniels a little scared for the.
[01:24:12] The commanders.
[01:24:13] Jaden Daniels left the game.
[01:24:15] Rembrandt.
[01:24:15] He wasn't a problem.
[01:24:16] You know.
[01:24:16] They took care of the Panthers.
[01:24:17] But you hope that's not serious.
[01:24:19] Right.
[01:24:20] He's got a big rookie QB matchup with.
[01:24:25] Caleb.
[01:24:26] Williams.
[01:24:27] Next week.
[01:24:29] Bears.
[01:24:30] And then the big Super Bowl rematch.
[01:24:31] Chiefs 49ers man.
[01:24:32] Really wasn't much of a game.
[01:24:34] The Chiefs.
[01:24:34] No it wasn't.
[01:24:35] Chiefs.
[01:24:35] Early on.
[01:24:36] It was kind of a little similar to.
[01:24:39] The Alabama Tennessee.
[01:24:40] Giving a go.
[01:24:41] The Chiefs.
[01:24:42] Or the Niners defense kept getting turnovers and stuff.
[01:24:44] They were picking off.
[01:24:46] They couldn't do anything.
[01:24:48] Yeah.
[01:24:49] And then Brock Party had a terrible game.
[01:24:51] Three interceptions.
[01:24:54] Chiefs did what they do.
[01:24:56] They're.
[01:24:56] You know.
[01:24:56] Last unbeaten team now.
[01:24:59] Six and oh.
[01:25:00] Man.
[01:25:02] And other than that.
[01:25:03] You know.
[01:25:03] Not terribly big games.
[01:25:05] You know.
[01:25:06] Just no.
[01:25:07] Big news.
[01:25:08] I guess.
[01:25:09] Does Sean Watson look like he has a torn Achilles or some type of Achilles injury?
[01:25:13] That was nasty.
[01:25:14] Yeah.
[01:25:14] No contact injury.
[01:25:15] He was carted off.
[01:25:17] Miles Garrett is mad at fans because they viewed him as he was being carted off.
[01:25:25] DTR.
[01:25:25] That's a bad quarterback.
[01:25:26] Jameis comes in late.
[01:25:27] Gets him a touchdown actually.
[01:25:28] And you know.
[01:25:29] They get.
[01:25:29] Have to onside kick.
[01:25:31] But.
[01:25:32] The Bengals do get another win.
[01:25:34] So they're three and four now.
[01:25:35] But that's crazy that Jameis not even in second string.
[01:25:38] Yeah.
[01:25:39] Right.
[01:25:39] I was very surprised.
[01:25:41] And as we're talking.
[01:25:43] Najee Harris is running in for another Steelers touchdown there.
[01:25:46] Kicking the shit out of the Jets.
[01:25:48] The Jets.
[01:25:49] That'll make it 36 to 15 now.
[01:25:51] That's a.
[01:25:52] I mean.
[01:25:52] That's another move.
[01:25:53] The Jets.
[01:25:54] They went and got Demonte Adams.
[01:25:56] It ain't helping.
[01:25:57] No.
[01:25:59] Right.
[01:25:59] It is time to start having his Rodgers cooked conversations.
[01:26:04] Yeah.
[01:26:06] I mean.
[01:26:07] He's not playing terrible.
[01:26:08] But it's like.
[01:26:09] No man.
[01:26:10] It's not.
[01:26:10] It's not.
[01:26:11] It's not what you wanted.
[01:26:13] It's not what you brought him in to be.
[01:26:14] You brought him to be the last.
[01:26:16] You know.
[01:26:17] Start running.
[01:26:17] You.
[01:26:17] You wanted him to be like Brett Favre 2010 with the Vikings type season.
[01:26:22] Where he was just lighting shit up.
[01:26:24] On the way out.
[01:26:26] And that concern for that defense.
[01:26:28] You know.
[01:26:28] Najee Harris.
[01:26:29] By far his best game of the year so far.
[01:26:32] For them to give up 37.
[01:26:33] That's a lot for the Jets defense.
[01:26:35] Well.
[01:26:36] You know what I say by far.
[01:26:37] But actually.
[01:26:38] You know.
[01:26:39] That first game.
[01:26:40] Or.
[01:26:40] I guess that was last week.
[01:26:42] No.
[01:26:42] He played really well against the Raiders.
[01:26:43] So maybe you know.
[01:26:45] Pittsburgh's found something.
[01:26:46] Maybe Najee Harris has got his mojo back.
[01:26:48] Yeah.
[01:26:50] And that run game is looking dangerous.
[01:26:52] Yeah.
[01:26:53] Of course.
[01:26:54] Tomorrow night you got.
[01:26:56] The Ravens and Bucks.
[01:26:57] The big one Monday night.
[01:26:59] The Cardinals and Chargers.
[01:27:00] Again.
[01:27:01] That weird double.
[01:27:04] Double Monday night thing.
[01:27:06] Ravens.
[01:27:07] Isn't that one exclusively on ESPN Plus?
[01:27:10] It is.
[01:27:11] Which is so weird.
[01:27:12] Yeah.
[01:27:13] I don't know.
[01:27:14] Ravens.
[01:27:14] Bucks is the obvious headliner of those two.
[01:27:16] Of course.
[01:27:16] You know.
[01:27:17] That exciting offense.
[01:27:18] Two exciting offenses.
[01:27:22] Bucks coming off.
[01:27:24] It was last week.
[01:27:25] Their win.
[01:27:26] Yeah.
[01:27:27] They won last week.
[01:27:27] Right.
[01:27:28] Yeah.
[01:27:29] They beat the hell to the Saints.
[01:27:30] Yeah.
[01:27:30] I'm thinking two weeks ago.
[01:27:31] I'm thinking two weeks ago when.
[01:27:36] Kirk Cousins threw all over him.
[01:27:38] Yeah.
[01:27:39] But.
[01:27:40] No.
[01:27:40] Yeah.
[01:27:41] Like I said.
[01:27:42] It wasn't like nothing shocking.
[01:27:43] Of course.
[01:27:43] The injuries we mentioned.
[01:27:44] A couple big trades this week were the stories.
[01:27:49] We'll see how that.
[01:27:50] You know.
[01:27:50] The trade deadline is November 5th.
[01:27:52] It's a week later this year.
[01:27:53] But it looks like NFL.
[01:27:54] More trades are starting to happen.
[01:27:56] Right.
[01:27:57] We'll see what happens.
[01:27:58] We'll see what happens.
[01:27:59] Nick Chud did come back for them today.
[01:28:00] Got a touchdown.
[01:28:01] Yeah.
[01:28:02] That was good to see.
[01:28:03] Because then.
[01:28:05] But.
[01:28:05] Been so long since we've seen Nick Chud.
[01:28:07] You know.
[01:28:07] Maybe this is at least a temporary solution to their.
[01:28:11] Sean Watson problem.
[01:28:12] You hate to.
[01:28:12] You know.
[01:28:12] I guess you hate to see it.
[01:28:13] I don't know.
[01:28:15] Me.
[01:28:15] You hate to see a guy getting injured like that.
[01:28:17] But.
[01:28:17] Yeah.
[01:28:18] Yeah.
[01:28:18] It's also.
[01:28:19] I don't know.
[01:28:19] It's a lot going on with that.
[01:28:21] Yeah.
[01:28:21] Let's.
[01:28:22] And then.
[01:28:23] Yeah.
[01:28:24] Anthony Richardson also came back today.
[01:28:26] It wasn't overly impressive.
[01:28:27] But the Colts got the W against the Dolphins.
[01:28:29] So.
[01:28:30] That's all.
[01:28:31] Then.
[01:28:34] I would say.
[01:28:35] It was interesting this morning.
[01:28:37] Early.
[01:28:37] Early.
[01:28:37] It was.
[01:28:38] I mean.
[01:28:39] A lot more scoring than I thought was going to happen that one.
[01:28:42] I will say.
[01:28:43] Travis Etienne may not have a job in Jacksonville.
[01:28:47] Because Tank Bigsby went crazy.
[01:28:49] Oh.
[01:28:50] He is.
[01:28:50] Yeah.
[01:28:51] And he's had a couple decent games.
[01:28:53] Yeah.
[01:28:53] But that man.
[01:28:55] Absolutely had a day.
[01:28:58] 26.
[01:28:59] 118.
[01:28:59] Two touchdowns.
[01:29:01] Yeah.
[01:29:01] I mean.
[01:29:02] They kept feeding him the ball.
[01:29:03] I mean.
[01:29:04] You know.
[01:29:05] That's one thing.
[01:29:05] I mean.
[01:29:06] Auburn always stays with a good running back.
[01:29:08] Mm-hmm.
[01:29:09] And does well in the league.
[01:29:11] And man.
[01:29:11] Yeah.
[01:29:14] So.
[01:29:16] Yeah.
[01:29:17] Yeah.
[01:29:18] But looking ahead to next week.
[01:29:22] Some interesting games.
[01:29:23] The Eagles at the Bengals.
[01:29:25] You know.
[01:29:25] Two teams.
[01:29:27] You know.
[01:29:27] The Bengals are desperate.
[01:29:28] They could get back to 500.
[01:29:31] And.
[01:29:31] You know.
[01:29:32] Try to stay in that playoff hunt.
[01:29:33] The Eagles need to win.
[01:29:36] Honestly.
[01:29:36] Keep pace with the commanders in the east there.
[01:29:39] And.
[01:29:40] Keep their playoff hopes.
[01:29:41] You know.
[01:29:41] Alive.
[01:29:42] Oh.
[01:29:43] Study.
[01:29:44] It's kind of.
[01:29:45] Week overall though.
[01:29:46] Yeah.
[01:29:47] Falcons and Bucks play again.
[01:29:48] You got.
[01:29:49] Oh.
[01:29:49] You do have.
[01:29:49] So yeah.
[01:29:50] I mean.
[01:29:50] That's a.
[01:29:51] I mean.
[01:29:51] That's an interesting game.
[01:29:52] Divisions.
[01:29:53] But.
[01:29:53] Yeah.
[01:29:53] A couple division games.
[01:29:54] Colts and Texans are another one.
[01:29:56] Yeah.
[01:29:57] Chiefs.
[01:29:57] Raiders are all of the Raiders.
[01:29:58] Don't look like a threat to.
[01:30:00] Do anything.
[01:30:01] Like we mentioned.
[01:30:02] A big one there is probably that.
[01:30:03] Bears commanders.
[01:30:04] The rookie quarterbacks.
[01:30:05] You hope.
[01:30:05] Jaden Daniels is okay.
[01:30:07] I hope Jaden will be fine.
[01:30:07] You would like to see that.
[01:30:10] Other than that.
[01:30:11] Next weekend.
[01:30:11] It's kind of.
[01:30:12] I mean.
[01:30:13] Bills and Seahawks.
[01:30:14] Another.
[01:30:14] There's a few interesting games.
[01:30:16] With no knockouts.
[01:30:17] Yeah.
[01:30:18] Bill Seahawks is an interesting one.
[01:30:20] Because I mean.
[01:30:22] Seahawks got a huge win.
[01:30:24] And absolutely housed the Falcons today.
[01:30:26] I was like wow.
[01:30:27] Absolutely housed them.
[01:30:28] Mm-hmm.
[01:30:29] But yeah.
[01:30:30] On the road too.
[01:30:32] In Atlanta.
[01:30:33] 520.
[01:30:34] Yeah.
[01:30:35] Yeah.
[01:30:35] Looking good too.
[01:30:37] Yeah.
[01:30:38] But yeah.
[01:30:38] We'll move on elsewhere real quick.
[01:30:40] Finish up.
[01:30:42] Some.
[01:30:42] We mentioned some big happenings.
[01:30:44] Just right now as we record.
[01:30:45] As we record.
[01:30:46] The Liberty.
[01:30:47] We have won their first.
[01:30:48] WNBA title.
[01:30:50] Great finish.
[01:30:51] Overtime game.
[01:30:53] And not too long ago.
[01:30:55] The Dodgers wrapped up the NLCS.
[01:30:57] So we.
[01:30:57] Thank God.
[01:30:58] We will have that.
[01:30:59] Baseball got their World Series of their dreams.
[01:31:02] The Dodgers and Yankees in a World Series.
[01:31:05] The LA and New York TV markets.
[01:31:07] The big names for the casual.
[01:31:09] Big names for the casual fans.
[01:31:11] Absolutely.
[01:31:12] Even the hardcore fans.
[01:31:13] You know you get.
[01:31:13] A lot of the hardcore fans.
[01:31:16] All the history.
[01:31:18] You know.
[01:31:18] And you're not getting the two best teams.
[01:31:20] Well hey.
[01:31:20] They weren't technically.
[01:31:22] You know.
[01:31:23] The Yankees were the one seed.
[01:31:24] Right.
[01:31:25] Yeah.
[01:31:26] Yeah.
[01:31:26] The Dodgers were the two seed.
[01:31:27] But hey.
[01:31:28] This is your.
[01:31:29] This is what people wanted to see.
[01:31:31] Yeah.
[01:31:31] This is as good as baseball can hope for.
[01:31:34] I mean.
[01:31:35] So man.
[01:31:36] They got.
[01:31:37] They got the World Series.
[01:31:38] They won it.
[01:31:39] Got the World Series.
[01:31:39] You got all the big names you want.
[01:31:41] I mean.
[01:31:42] You got Soto.
[01:31:44] Yeah.
[01:31:44] You got.
[01:31:45] You hit the game when homer.
[01:31:46] You got.
[01:31:47] You know.
[01:31:47] Shohei.
[01:31:48] You got Judge.
[01:31:49] And Giancarlo.
[01:31:50] You got.
[01:31:52] Mookie Betts.
[01:31:53] Yeah.
[01:31:53] All your big names.
[01:31:54] I mean.
[01:31:54] This is.
[01:31:55] I mean.
[01:31:56] For baseball.
[01:31:56] They can't be happier.
[01:31:58] Because this is.
[01:32:00] Exactly what they needed.
[01:32:02] For their sport.
[01:32:04] Because I mean.
[01:32:05] When we.
[01:32:05] I mean.
[01:32:05] We had Arizona.
[01:32:06] Texas last year.
[01:32:07] I mean.
[01:32:08] It was.
[01:32:08] Good baseball.
[01:32:10] But.
[01:32:10] That's not.
[01:32:11] That's not bringing them in.
[01:32:13] Yeah.
[01:32:15] This is exactly what the baseball needed.
[01:32:17] I don't know.
[01:32:18] If it does anything long term.
[01:32:19] For the sport.
[01:32:21] For.
[01:32:21] For a week or two.
[01:32:22] I mean.
[01:32:23] You can't.
[01:32:24] Kind of hope for a better thing.
[01:32:25] For.
[01:32:25] Major League Baseball.
[01:32:27] Whether you're a fan of either.
[01:32:28] Or just like baseball.
[01:32:30] Or.
[01:32:30] Even a casual fan.
[01:32:31] I mean.
[01:32:32] Anything.
[01:32:32] L.A.
[01:32:32] New York.
[01:32:33] New York's going to bring people in.
[01:32:35] And in the.
[01:32:35] Star power.
[01:32:36] I mean.
[01:32:39] Yeah.
[01:32:40] So.
[01:32:40] Now.
[01:32:42] You know.
[01:32:43] Now.
[01:32:44] WNBA is done.
[01:32:45] But the NBA.
[01:32:48] Start.
[01:32:49] Yeah.
[01:32:49] Starts this week.
[01:32:50] Tuesday.
[01:32:51] Wednesday.
[01:32:52] Tuesday.
[01:32:53] Yeah.
[01:32:54] Tuesday.
[01:32:54] With New York and Boston.
[01:32:55] And Minnesota.
[01:32:56] L.A.
[01:32:56] So.
[01:32:57] Your defending champs.
[01:32:58] Start the season.
[01:32:59] Against.
[01:33:00] Probably their main rival.
[01:33:01] For the East again.
[01:33:02] This year.
[01:33:03] Yeah.
[01:33:04] And then.
[01:33:05] You know.
[01:33:05] You get LeBron.
[01:33:06] And.
[01:33:07] The new look.
[01:33:09] T-Wolves there.
[01:33:11] Yeah.
[01:33:11] So.
[01:33:12] We'll see how Julius Randle.
[01:33:13] Fits in there.
[01:33:14] And.
[01:33:14] And they have a full schedule.
[01:33:16] Wednesday.
[01:33:17] Yeah.
[01:33:17] It's.
[01:33:17] Yeah.
[01:33:18] And then everyone.
[01:33:18] The big schedule.
[01:33:19] You know.
[01:33:19] See.
[01:33:20] Who your Mavs got.
[01:33:21] To start.
[01:33:22] San Antonio.
[01:33:23] I believe.
[01:33:23] Thursday night.
[01:33:25] Yeah.
[01:33:25] San Antonio.
[01:33:26] And Dallas.
[01:33:27] And the Pelicans.
[01:33:28] Start Chicago.
[01:33:30] Wednesday night.
[01:33:31] At home.
[01:33:32] Hopefully a good start for them.
[01:33:34] I have no idea.
[01:33:35] No.
[01:33:35] I saw that.
[01:33:36] We're going to trot out.
[01:33:37] Or.
[01:33:37] If we're going to have a center.
[01:33:40] Talking about the Bulls though.
[01:33:41] It was good man.
[01:33:42] To see.
[01:33:43] Even though it's still preseason.
[01:33:44] Just see Lonzo Ball.
[01:33:45] Play for Ball.
[01:33:46] For like the first time.
[01:33:47] In almost two years.
[01:33:49] Yeah.
[01:33:50] I was happy to see him play.
[01:33:52] Yeah.
[01:33:52] And.
[01:33:53] Knowing how the Pelicans.
[01:33:54] Pelicans.
[01:33:55] Just are as a franchise.
[01:33:57] He will drop.
[01:33:58] Like a 35.
[01:34:00] 18.
[01:34:01] And 10.
[01:34:01] Or some shit.
[01:34:03] In that game.
[01:34:05] But.
[01:34:06] Who knows.
[01:34:08] Like I said.
[01:34:08] As a Pelicans fan.
[01:34:09] I'm just.
[01:34:10] And you know.
[01:34:10] I'm excited.
[01:34:11] Because you know.
[01:34:11] There is some talent.
[01:34:12] That team.
[01:34:13] Devontae Murray.
[01:34:13] And we'll see.
[01:34:14] Oh yeah.
[01:34:15] Very talented.
[01:34:15] How that looks.
[01:34:16] You love to see.
[01:34:18] Like the.
[01:34:19] The.
[01:34:20] The growth of guys.
[01:34:21] Like Herb Jones.
[01:34:22] Continues to get better every year.
[01:34:23] With his offense.
[01:34:24] And he's a lockdown.
[01:34:25] Hey man.
[01:34:26] Let's give him some love.
[01:34:27] For defensive player of the year.
[01:34:28] If he plays like he has.
[01:34:30] Trey Murphy.
[01:34:31] You want to see how he.
[01:34:33] Progresses even more.
[01:34:34] If he gets a.
[01:34:35] Not in that starting lineup.
[01:34:37] You got to get him more minutes.
[01:34:38] You got to get Jordan Hawkins.
[01:34:39] On the floor more.
[01:34:40] Because he's such a good shooter.
[01:34:41] Yeah.
[01:34:42] So we'll see.
[01:34:42] But yeah.
[01:34:43] That.
[01:34:44] That.
[01:34:44] That center thing.
[01:34:45] Man.
[01:34:46] That.
[01:34:47] Yeah.
[01:34:48] You know.
[01:34:49] Your big thing too.
[01:34:50] Is just that health.
[01:34:51] Yeah.
[01:34:51] He's got to stay healthy.
[01:34:52] Yeah.
[01:34:52] Exactly.
[01:34:53] Got to keep Zion healthy.
[01:34:54] And we can see.
[01:34:55] What the hell.
[01:34:58] Um.
[01:35:00] Just what the hell.
[01:35:01] The season with.
[01:35:02] You know.
[01:35:03] Brandon Ingram.
[01:35:03] And all that mess brings.
[01:35:05] Does he.
[01:35:05] Yeah.
[01:35:05] Lock in.
[01:35:06] And focus.
[01:35:07] And.
[01:35:07] Do they figure something out.
[01:35:09] In this small ball lineup.
[01:35:10] Or whatever they're going to do.
[01:35:11] Does it end up being like.
[01:35:12] Oh my God.
[01:35:13] This is great.
[01:35:13] Or.
[01:35:14] Does somebody actually.
[01:35:15] Finally say they want him.
[01:35:17] Do they find a center.
[01:35:19] Correct.
[01:35:21] Yeah.
[01:35:22] That's.
[01:35:22] That's.
[01:35:22] That's our storyline.
[01:35:25] Yeah.
[01:35:27] But yeah.
[01:35:27] We'll see.
[01:35:28] It should be exciting.
[01:35:29] Like you said.
[01:35:29] It's always exciting time of year.
[01:35:31] Coming up for that.
[01:35:32] And we got.
[01:35:33] Absolutely.
[01:35:33] A great world series coming up.
[01:35:35] And.
[01:35:36] Yeah.
[01:35:36] College and pro football.
[01:35:37] Getting deep into the seasons now.
[01:35:39] When we really start learning things.
[01:35:40] Being sure we.
[01:35:41] Learn about teams.
[01:35:43] Getting serious from that.
[01:35:44] So we're going to find out a lot.
[01:35:45] About a lot of teams.
[01:35:47] And then.
[01:35:48] Like you said.
[01:35:48] The NBA started.
[01:35:52] Man.
[01:35:53] It's a.
[01:35:53] It's a.
[01:35:54] Great.
[01:35:54] Great time in the sports world.
[01:35:57] And.
[01:35:59] Yeah.
[01:36:00] Interesting enough.
[01:36:01] It looks like Russell Wilson.
[01:36:02] Might be the guy.
[01:36:03] And.
[01:36:03] You know.
[01:36:04] He started off bad there tonight.
[01:36:05] And people wonder why.
[01:36:07] Why he got away from fields.
[01:36:08] But.
[01:36:09] Obviously.
[01:36:10] Tom.
[01:36:10] I'm going to know what he was doing.
[01:36:12] Yeah.
[01:36:12] And if.
[01:36:13] You can get that.
[01:36:14] Kind of games out of Najee Harris too.
[01:36:15] With that defense.
[01:36:16] Man.
[01:36:17] All of a sudden.
[01:36:17] Pittsburgh's looking.
[01:36:19] Real legit now.
[01:36:21] When was that first?
[01:36:22] I saw.
[01:36:23] I heard something.
[01:36:24] I don't know if it was earlier this week.
[01:36:25] Or the end of.
[01:36:26] Maybe.
[01:36:27] I think it was earlier.
[01:36:28] This past week.
[01:36:29] I heard something that.
[01:36:33] The.
[01:36:33] The.
[01:36:34] The.
[01:36:35] The.
[01:36:40] To hip hop.
[01:36:41] Or something.
[01:36:42] Is the rumor.
[01:36:43] Yeah.
[01:36:43] I was like.
[01:36:43] Oh.
[01:36:44] Oh.
[01:36:45] Man.
[01:36:46] You could have.
[01:36:48] No.
[01:36:49] Talked about.
[01:36:50] The trajectory of a franchise.
[01:36:52] Right there.
[01:36:52] Good God.
[01:36:53] But how did.
[01:36:54] Like.
[01:36:55] Like.
[01:36:56] How does that.
[01:36:57] Man.
[01:36:58] But they.
[01:36:59] They've been a wild franchise.
[01:37:01] I mean.
[01:37:01] They're the ones who.
[01:37:02] Said the wild stuff.
[01:37:04] About Dez Bryant.
[01:37:05] Back in the day.
[01:37:05] Like.
[01:37:06] They've said some wild things.
[01:37:08] Yeah.
[01:37:08] They've had some wild things.
[01:37:10] Come out.
[01:37:10] That the people are saying.
[01:37:11] And it's like.
[01:37:13] Stuff like.
[01:37:14] That can't.
[01:37:14] It's not flying these days.
[01:37:16] Like.
[01:37:16] What is going on?
[01:37:18] You know.
[01:37:22] Uh.
[01:37:22] Oh.
[01:37:22] Hell.
[01:37:23] I just lost it.
[01:37:24] Uh.
[01:37:25] Yeah.
[01:37:25] Speaking of the Dolphins too.
[01:37:26] Have said.
[01:37:27] You know.
[01:37:27] He.
[01:37:28] Is there a chance.
[01:37:29] He plays next week.
[01:37:30] He's practicing.
[01:37:30] He plays next week.
[01:37:31] Or a couple weeks at least.
[01:37:32] But he's practicing.
[01:37:34] I'm just.
[01:37:35] Yeah.
[01:37:35] I'm just so scared.
[01:37:36] For him.
[01:37:37] Right.
[01:37:37] I'm just.
[01:37:37] Right.
[01:37:39] I mean.
[01:37:39] It's his call.
[01:37:40] Like.
[01:37:40] I'm not the one.
[01:37:41] So.
[01:37:41] You got to retire.
[01:37:42] Because I mean.
[01:37:43] I don't know what it is.
[01:37:44] I can't.
[01:37:44] You know.
[01:37:45] I'm not.
[01:37:45] Don't know what it's like.
[01:37:46] You know.
[01:37:47] Situation there.
[01:37:48] Um.
[01:37:49] But.
[01:37:50] Man.
[01:37:50] I just.
[01:37:51] I just.
[01:37:51] Wish him the best.
[01:37:52] No matter what.
[01:37:53] Just because.
[01:37:55] It's.
[01:37:56] Man.
[01:37:57] I don't know.
[01:37:58] I'm just.
[01:37:59] I'm just.
[01:37:59] So worried about him.
[01:38:01] Man.
[01:38:01] Because you.
[01:38:01] At any time.
[01:38:02] One more hit.
[01:38:03] You don't know what will happen.
[01:38:05] Like.
[01:38:05] It's just wild.
[01:38:09] Yeah.
[01:38:09] It's.
[01:38:10] It's.
[01:38:12] It's.
[01:38:12] That time.
[01:38:13] But uh.
[01:38:13] We.
[01:38:14] I think we've been talking long enough.
[01:38:15] Greg.
[01:38:16] What uh.
[01:38:16] What has been done up real good for you this week?
[01:38:19] Yeah.
[01:38:20] Done up real good for me.
[01:38:23] Tomorrow is wedding anniversary.
[01:38:26] Been married since 2008.
[01:38:28] So I mean.
[01:38:29] Ooh.
[01:38:30] Long.
[01:38:30] Long time there.
[01:38:32] Obviously.
[01:38:32] She's a very patient woman.
[01:38:35] Ha ha ha.
[01:38:37] Yeah.
[01:38:37] So that's.
[01:38:38] Done up for me there.
[01:38:40] Yeah.
[01:38:40] So going on 16 years.
[01:38:42] So uh.
[01:38:44] Time has gone fast.
[01:38:46] But yeah.
[01:38:46] Obviously she's a great woman.
[01:38:48] A lot of patience.
[01:38:49] Because.
[01:38:50] I don't know.
[01:38:51] Ha ha.
[01:38:51] I wouldn't deal with myself for that long.
[01:38:53] But.
[01:38:53] Anyway.
[01:38:54] Ha ha.
[01:38:55] How about you?
[01:38:57] Uh.
[01:38:57] You know.
[01:38:58] Just.
[01:38:59] I guess I'll just say.
[01:39:01] Nothing huge or.
[01:39:02] Insanely special.
[01:39:03] Just a.
[01:39:04] A nice happy week I guess.
[01:39:06] Got some.
[01:39:07] Yeah.
[01:39:07] You know.
[01:39:07] House projects done.
[01:39:09] That's always good.
[01:39:10] It's been nice weather.
[01:39:11] You know here.
[01:39:12] Not too bad.
[01:39:12] A little chilly at night even.
[01:39:14] Yeah.
[01:39:16] Yeah.
[01:39:17] Just you know.
[01:39:17] Kind of one of those.
[01:39:18] Like hey.
[01:39:19] It's a good week.
[01:39:20] Type weeks.
[01:39:21] Nothing too special.
[01:39:22] Nothing.
[01:39:23] Uh.
[01:39:24] Nothing.
[01:39:25] Greatly notable in either direction.
[01:39:27] Yeah.
[01:39:30] But yeah.
[01:39:31] Uh.
[01:39:32] I think that'll do it for us this week.

[01:40:01] For you Greg.
[01:40:03] Oh.
[01:40:04] That's it.
[01:40:05] I took some chances.
[01:40:07] Didn't work out at all.
[01:40:09] Nothing worked.
[01:40:10] Yeah.
[01:40:10] Went a little bold.
[01:40:11] But hey.
[01:40:12] That happens.
