[00:00:37] So yeah, let's go ahead and jump into it and be a lot of season. Big stuff going on. Since we last talked Clay Thompson now at Dallas Maverick Paul George, now a Philadelphia 76er. Let's talk about Paul George first.

[00:01:01] How much do you think this will help filly against matchup with ball stain or New York or can they finally get? Is this the piece they're missing to finally get to like the finals or is it more

[00:01:15] dependent on a bead stain healthy and actually making a good play off play? You know, I mean, it definitely starts with a bead stain healthy. I mean without a bead being healthy, Captain O's surely matters.

[00:01:30] As you've seen, other things with that I mean on paper are literally good but I mean that they don't help the I mean it comes on the health. I mean it does with all things I mean when beat the doctors did is big of a far

[00:01:44] risk or when he's on the court he's so star when he's you know what he's this quite a quite a you know big part parts of seasons there. The thing you wonder about though what filly years, you know now that they have three max contracts.

[00:02:05] What do they you know what do they feel though? Do you know a wrestler with? Mm-hmm. Yeah we know Tobias Harris is gone and he's in Detroit now. Yeah you got to wonder because with that much money tied up just three guys yeah. And the tear system.

[00:03:35] were pretty much the whole time that beats been in silly it seems like but some always happens you know they I will run there when they're Jimmy Butler and then

[00:03:47] you know Kauai you know how to let yourself to put them out when he lived in front of me and that was really good luck with super decent run on say but you know to be interested what they do you know that

[00:04:00] base year yeah no it's definitely another team they looked at have a reboundier in the east um and you know I'd like to see Paul George you know success well at nothing against them

[00:09:09] coming off the bench he really fell into a good role a good groove with that role you know with a clip or a C this season yeah it seemed to work out well you know you can do

[00:09:24] you know it's got similar similar temperament talent iverson i always felt like that kind of bulldog mentality not afraid to take on you know entire teen by themselves and i i i know iverson is

[00:09:40] come out and said in interviews post career you know he's he wishes the one thing he could have done was somehow learn to be a better like six man learn to come off the bench he never was able to really

[00:09:51] adapt to it that's why you know he didn't have really that great second half of his career you know just compared to the first you know like Russ has learned to do that and that's uh oh yeah that's

[00:10:06] you know that's a scary second line guy you know they can run your offense you know especially if say someone like Denver after Jamal Marion and Joker go get their breather then all said

[00:10:19] and you're gonna have Russell Westbrook come at you yeah yeah he's gonna be going to be going at after tired starters or they're gonna play their second unit and not all of us are still

[00:11:12] Charlotte in two second round picks going back to Golden State. Well nothing but kind of losing the no you know that is why Josh signed last night with Najim Marshall yeah and you know the main the main thing of course is Clay's health or you know how much

[00:11:34] of course you know he's not to play a five years ago which brings pretty much a pretty much a one eight one eight kind of guy I mean he was just at that little right

[00:11:46] cool stuff or right at Steph's level I mean they were one two plants so but I mean even last year of those by being down you know he's still average about 18 again shot about 39% from three

[00:12:00] three point range I mean i'm not how you look at it's a step up from Tim Hardaway Jr yeah yeah we've gotten better you know even if he's not to clay a couple years ago but

[00:12:28] to create his own shot which you know was never his strong suit anyway really but if you can get hand just comfortable knocking down threes you know and Luke is going to draw

[00:16:01] big one for the big ones for today Kelly you Ray staying with the sixers you know uh Tyre's Maxie signed the extension we can mention that Max Thunder's extended a couple of their bench guys uh Jason Tatum got the 300 million oh yeah I'll

[00:16:23] get saying then Jason Tatum got the richest contract in the NBA history five year three 14 with a player option two and a trade kicker so it's in there but they're quite an extension too sixers yeah they're starting lineups wrapped up through the next two seasons

[00:16:45] the entire start lineups so that's you know we mentioned sixers talk about teams in East trying to get better good luck but right now you'd have to say sixers felt it's cool number one

[00:17:01] yeah I mean you kind of at the next level you had kind of what it usually is and you kind of boxed the next to 76ers yeah if the honest is healthy and uh NBA is healthy then

[00:17:21] obviously it's two of the best players in the game and you know the addition of Paul George and Philly and then uh like to see me Milwaukee do something you know they they need they need to

[00:17:31] guy they he need support up there you know after Joe holiday it looks like maybe Chris Middleton time there's coming on in we'll see there he's been subject to trade rumors so yeah I'm that's

[00:17:45] a guy when he's healthy I mean he's money but that's another guy his health has been real questionable last couple years and of course his past year after you know beats injury and

[00:18:01] really it seemed like I don't know again bad luck follow dark rivers the ones he became the colors and then down here for the the books you know they're interesting to see with a

[00:19:01] gonna be insane yeah yeah and yeah you mentioned along with these younger guys you know that uh we've seen how castles in the ucon they just drafted yeah he's going to be mentored by Chris Paul

[00:19:14] yeah I mean they're done good better than you know we saw a lot city before with him when he was a clipper it's gonna be interesting out of our runs with Wimbe and um the other um the other um the other uh teams uh kind of quietly

[00:19:37] or land those things or lands those put it together are you not think you know of course not it kind of in the third tier you know kind of play out bound but you can put it

[00:19:50] content about quietly anything they're input together uh putting together a nice little team near an Orlando um yeah that's nice sign is there there they're definitely one to watch in eastern exterior they were I mean what a five seed this year so they can you know

[00:20:30] what we started talking about last night with the NBA all season was the big trades last week before free agency and whatnot but uh of course a lot bigger one's last week McHell bridges

[00:20:42] going from Brooklyn to Manhattan uh now a nick that they just keep adding all these villain over guys uh what's great for your chemistry another another another squirrel on that team

[00:20:55] to ease uh the load off J.L. and Bronson um um a good move by them to you know they looks like now they got to figure out some things at center with heart and steam leaving and Mitchell

[00:21:09] Robinson you know he's another one of those guys that you can never quite depend on his health yeah I mean that they're the one of those same stuff again um maybe you should use with the health um

[00:21:24] but the thing with it seems like any time pivotal teams go through this all the time we'll talk about in the past I mean he runs it's so physical that they run their players

[00:21:38] through the grinder I mean when you play time for time pivotal like you get playing hard all the time like it's hard to say healthy that way I mean he really doesn't he doesn't always sit

[00:21:51] players I mean he does you know he's a cool guy who is in a physical style of basketball and you know it works but it takes your toll on the body and you know we've seen him

[00:22:02] there's breakdown in the past yeah I'm sure he's definitely uh yeah we'll see if New York can repeat their success next year and you know hopefully stay healthy um you know like that so

[00:28:04] because you have to wonder does you know the scene what to try to get a ring or he's considered the man because you know what just they will you won't be called tell would do 73 and nine

[00:28:15] the season before four years to some easy championships of course is a big part of why they were to win those you know titles you know because he's a big he has killed a number of then

[00:28:28] can go to stay especially in the playoffs but you know they were a stacked team before he got there you know and of course he lived up actually up three don't want on him and then became a

[00:28:41] one after that season's not and that playoffs but you know who knows and we know he's still winning and KD's off and he's still he's a fun to watch when them shots are going man

[00:29:55] at all. Here's one that just happened a while ago Mo Baba signed one year deal with the clippers see if he can get a little more minutes there in LA. I see what's left you didn't fill the

[00:30:14] last year right yeah you know didn't average much I don't you know average gore points a block and four rebounds a game so much that is a that is a guy. I had a lot of potential to be a star in the

[00:30:29] league just like his size and potential when he came out of Texas it really had materialized this wood what it made probably sure that I thought maybe he had the athleticism in the size to be a star

[00:30:49] in today's with how big men are using today's game. I'm sure you want to go on with a good high man yeah a lot of people were home a lot of people thought he could develop into

[00:31:03] you know that's kind of new age big man but we'll see you know he's still still young guy. Yes a thing like he's got to come on with him it come out so early you know he really has you know

[00:31:17] he's got his head in between in the end 20 yeah he's I'm the time 26 you know and he's he was drafted back in 2018 so yeah well time we call these guys lost in the end of the career but they're really in the

[00:31:32] mid 20s just been a league for five years goes he came into 19 yeah which it's a 13 minutes game last year appeared in 57 games so definitely kind of getting back to what he was doing

[00:31:53] on a lando it's been that one the weird year and short time and likeers yeah just nine games but I can see could be these a couple of the couple yeah let's say you know that's one of those

[00:32:15] why not take a chance you know at worst he's just another bench guy at best you know like you unlock something in him and he and if you can get it up yeah or even just solid bench minutes and

[00:32:31] six you know bump that rebound member up to six seven rebounds a game yeah just make it in counts yeah but moving on we also talk last night about the Celtics of course they won their

[00:32:50] 18th world title your uh Maverick did not pull the comeback but um we don't really have to rehash it that much we basically talked about you know was this Celtics team are they under appreciated for

[00:33:05] as dominant as good as they were in our consensus was it yeah they kind of are but also some of the criticisms are valid you know is a weakened east the sheer you know and be being her

[00:33:17] you know the nicks breaking down and getting her um the pacer's had injuries in that series you know right they didn't have to face you know Denver yeah or y'all may have to say the boy yeah

[00:33:34] I mean there's a lot of different factors but you know it's a toss up I mean because you know like we said there's really nothing that says that makers I'm assuming the Celtics women come on these I mean they're dominating the east when all those guys were healthy

[00:33:56] yeah exactly so yeah that's it the y'all those things are true and it's also true they had the Celtics were dominating the sheer and they earned that title and exactly I mean there's

[00:34:17] okay basically every season with 100 teams I mean so it doesn't get hurt I mean you could correlate to you know 10 teams of season you know things and that's the least sports I mean one

[00:34:31] small thing contains a whole franchise so you know this away of waste sports work so time could be the best things that can be cropped depending on what side of your own yeah um

[00:42:39] seems to be more loose more fun and I think that long term may be better with with today's player on that you know the next eight year kind of a different atmosphere all together seems in South

[00:42:55] yeah by all accounts he's he's just killing it so far on the job right from from the players past players you know coaches media you know a lot of people love what the development of

[00:43:10] J.L. and Milrio this all season so we'll see you know that was one of the exactly that's the bottom line you know the biggest worry with him overall was you know

[00:43:22] can he recruit in the south and you know him give credit to a court in Morgan his uh player a person now director whatever his official title is basically like GM and you know all the coaches

[00:43:34] on the staff they've all you know the ones that didn't come from the south have adapted and you know I think that's an overblown point and college recruiting as for the teams like Alabama Ohio State Georgia you know your big team your brand name you don't

[00:43:55] obviously you want to get your home-ground talent and killer row when you're state you know when you're region that but you're mad that's not all you yeah have yeah you can basically

[00:44:08] you're gonna get interest from all the country I mean people are gonna come out of them uh release you know uh come down and see what it's like I mean we not got the course in today's

[00:46:18] leave a program but you went here ultimate rival yeah that you were now going into their conference yeah so yeah he had about a one week period where he was a big 12 coach technically and then you know

[00:46:37] officially Texas in Oklahoma in the SEC now it's definitely gonna add some fuel to that fire that is that rivalry overall um yeah it's coming back on the phone to this year oh yeah that's going

[00:46:54] to be huge but see that one of the rivals like it's hatred on both sides but it seems to be far big run in A&M's. Oh yeah yeah um then they and this just adds fire to that or probably in all

[00:48:15] and the Panthers came back to win game seven um and you know good for them congrats to them first ever cup in there for Manchester you tougher Oilers fans to get that close and then not

[00:48:31] when we talked about how I think we'd rather just get swept or losing five or six then get the three oh come away and then yeah come all the way back just get sure yeah I think

[00:48:42] doubt her more yeah that stuff. Yeah yeah yeah Stanley Cup playoffs remain just some of the most fun sports on. Oh yeah this is great. You only have to say that's a beauty of like

[00:49:21] the euros are in the knockout round a couple of close games today France and Belgium played a close one Portugal and Slovenia yes Slovenia went to penalties where Portugal pulled through. It's been a really fun tournament I think they're in Germany

[00:49:45] and then the Copa course actually here in the US this year. Been the Copa you know it's been a wild crazy fun tournament if you're a US fan maybe not so much

[00:50:02] a bad loss to Panama the other night Timothy way with the dumb red card and so they needed to come in a win tonight or at least draw and have another game go the way and it's not going

[00:54:28] we watch women again or what even watch women when it's not the Olympics I don't know you know honestly and honestly you know I mean it's fun to you know you can watch the Olympic

[00:54:45] anytime during the day I mean you could 3 a.m. you could find something to watch you know you want to ignite I mean you could watch Olympic spring months all day I want some crazy stuff and I heard like this should just be great yeah I think it's

[00:55:01] sport I'm a staking there's three on three basketball and the three on three basketball is interesting but it's cool but it's one of those only at the Olympic I know we had the big three tournament

[00:55:18] but it's like yeah that's one of those uniquely Olympic things where they just think about this thing you're like hey let's make three on three basketball on Olympic sport you know and keep basketball

[00:55:31] well my thing is this though is there is there's some stipulations of who can play in for me on basketball compared there like I don't think so I think that's up to each you know

[00:55:46] Olympic committee so I thought the power of the Olympic you know it's in my three NBA three didn't stand on the 14th and put them out there you think when they watch everybody

[00:56:03] you know they can't much shoot yeah I don't know it's I know it's all I know it's it's for four people in the roster so no you can have that so but it's it'll be interesting but I definitely watch it

[00:56:19] yeah I mean that's the thing about the Olympics you lots a lot of stuff to chew never watch it for another four years yeah it would be you know I like I like watching a lot of swimming you know it's fun to watch

[00:56:36] you know gymnastics usually cool to watch yeah track track and field I mean I mean really that only thing I would say any Olympics is you know the basketball you know if we don't win a goal

[00:56:51] yeah it was a very good experience but I mean I mean Elbro is going to find the one so I want to surprise him honestly probably don't want for but every four years

[00:57:07] they're so yeah that's it's a real it's a weird the Olympics when you kind of step back and look at it like that it's kind of a really weird thing but it's fun it's cool

[00:57:26] yeah right but that's the other thing too a bit you know if you think about these athletes I mean with the Olympics I mean if you don't if you fail a disillapic to don't you places

[00:57:41] as a hazard at night you can't say all I'm next year I mean you've lived at the four years and by the end if you're older now four years you know where you're at

[00:57:55] health wise you can be part of the team and there's so much pressure when you're in the Olympic athlete because your time is the Olympics then you know everything you're building to the Olympics and if you don't succeed that's rough you know there's not

[00:58:12] extra there's not you know there's just that was your time and then go as planned and it sucks but of course if you do succeed then I mean you come up can become a major star and get

[00:58:28] promotional deals and commercials and you don't see them with you know Michael Phelps and others that you know just you know shine at the Olympics and then gain national start-up you know it's interesting situation with the Olympics but yeah just so much pressure you know

[00:58:50] a congratulate thank you everything is building up for those four years comes down to the you know are you able to succeed at that level so I think I'm more mentally anything at that

[00:59:08] point of the Olympics because obviously you're a great athlete or you wouldn't be in the Olympics but I meant the last thing take take take your over the top yeah it's the very unique in that especially for this you know the sports that are only like you said

[00:59:27] every four years um it that mental the weight of it just this is what you train for this is what you the last three and some years of training or whatever in trials and try outs

[00:59:42] um put everything into it yeah so yeah that's a lot it is a lot and then the other thing with the Olympics was the day they do so I came think what the event is

[01:00:00] where is the triathlon but they're trying to do it in the same river and Michael oh yeah it's been like a billion dollar trying to clean it and they're still nasty

[01:00:10] that's not yet it's gonna be a really weird uh really weird it's it's just one of those things I heard about the story a couple weeks ago and they were doing all these things like the mayor

[01:00:25] of Paris came out and said something like that also a minute yeah I think a bunch of people don't like them it's said that they were gonna go and take a shit in the river before he did it

[01:00:43] I think it's been like a billion dollars trying to clean up the water and then still is disgusting it's like me and y'all been so many so many things you could have done with a billion

[01:00:54] holes and you failed it cleaning off the river and that's insane right and you really can can you put athletes in that work as I mean that's the jeopardizing for you know the pinnong

[01:01:10] away where do you have this triathlon there's what they can't have it in pools or anything just because of how it's set up so what they're gonna do yeah I was about to say yeah well that's

[01:02:23] it's nice to get a break from a southern summer heat the house we were staying in was literally right on like Michigan's kind of the northwest part of the state um maybe central but good time you know they you know hot up there for them is 83 years so

[01:02:42] you know I'm like the with the window open because it's so nice with the breeze yeah yes please yeah all right thank you of course it's all relative you know no no

[01:02:52] I don't want to do a winner up there but no it was nice and then you know a nice illegal state of course is always nice because it makes too much sense that I could just drive right down the street get a couple joints and stuff

[01:03:10] what a work yeah one day you know that's just one day and it just blows and you know I'm not on that's more sports than that politics or anything like that what did blows my mind is you can still

[01:03:26] like even here in Nebraska I could go next day to go over the Colorado smoke on day come across here with that same stuff and come do some time yeah yeah yeah yeah

[01:03:38] you know all these states you know in the north and the west and stuff everything's legal and the closest I think the closest place to by legal meat weed from where I live I've

[01:03:51] looked it up is like maybe five and a half hours kind of down around oh your old stop and grounds there and weigh down the south southern tip Illinois oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah

[01:04:06] and I went on and but you would have to think just the tax benefits of the state is how much the state would make up you know the legalized weed yeah and that's you would seem it's

[01:04:17] a no-brainer but that's obviously that's why one day it will happen you know there's that you know the Bible about crowd and you get that but it's you know money trumps everything like exactly and that's what it'll happen one day yeah yeah it is full-time mine suit like

[01:04:35] we're like gambling you know like sports gambling with different things and it's just like me why not I know I know here in Alabama when I'm sure other states too the gambling things a little more complex and that you know it's a lot of back room politics

[01:04:53] with handshake deals with and they always knows and Mississippi don't want you know because they get a lot of people coming over in Alabama so there's my later some you know secret money going from Indian casinos and Mississippi going to Alabama politicians you

[01:05:12] know because promise oh but they can get more money yeah it's all of a sudden okay in Jesus' life yeah the weird thing with Alabama though is despite you know despite the

[01:05:25] you know no no official casinos and stuff like that and I know hurry I mean they're still all these places like the big holes where they have the machine and everything where you can gamble it's

[01:05:39] like what I think I think I saw statistic one time there was like Alabama I think was a home with a highest or the most illegal gambling in the country like secondly to Nevada and turn

[01:05:55] terms of actual gambling yeah right so yeah it's just it's a money thing once you know politicians can figure out how to get paid can get their slice of the pie so to say then they'll

[01:06:11] things become legally law-vacetting yeah yeah it's weird how they're works but I mean you see that happening in Kentucky there's a big movement there and it's you know guys like Mitch McConnell

[01:06:22] the sudden or in favor of legalizing it there you know you know I'm much money they can make that's like what to keep on the figure that out right obviously the money's been there just saying

[01:06:36] in Nebraska like they're just now where their old new casinos in Nebraska they're going to have support that sports books open it up but instead of my one is to add casinos forever and that's

[01:06:49] sportsbook for a couple years now and it's like like for example town my Elvis called council left side with and they have like three or four casinos and what to say where is 80% of the

[01:07:01] the plates when you go through the parking lot from Nebraska and of course you know why we're in the Nebraska went there on people you know many of them said of then I would get all the money but
