Short Takes with director of Missing Magic Anissa Latham
If you don’t know Anissa Latham, the odds that you’ve seen her work is still high. On Short Takes this week, filmmaker Anissa Latham talks about her work with the Birmingham-based It’s a Southern Thing; her short documentary Missing Magic, which was screened at AFI this year and is now streaming on PBS; what she finds uplifting and depressing about Alabama; juxtapositions in herself; fate; and, of course, what’s done up real good for her.
As if her credentials with AFI and PBS weren’t lavish enough, Anissa proves she’s the future of film with a joyous and moving talk with host Blaine Duncan.
For more from Anissa, find her work and production with It’s a Southern Thing and keep an eye on her website for her short documentary Missing Magic and future work.
