Making decisions in 2023

I have made a huge decision for the new year....I'm not going to make a number reading goal.

I KNOW! I KNOW! Then how will I know if I succeeded in anything if there is no number to show me?!

But this year, I want to work on the quality of the books that I read, instead of the quantity.

If you know me at all, you know that it's not like I don't have plans (reader, I ALWAYS have plans). I have to have some kind of reading goal, so these are mine for 2023:

First, I am going to be using this book journal that my friend, Liz, got me for my birthday back in May to keep up with what I am reading. I love Anne and her podcast, so I trust her in all things reading.

I will still use Goodreads because it's got my HUGE TBR list and I can't give that up. I've also just started using Storygraph but I'll have to get back to you on my opinion on that.

Second, I will still be working on my presidential challenge. Especially since I only made it to Jefferson in 2022. :/

Finally, I will be doing the read the alphabet challenge. I don't remember where I got the idea, probably from #bookstagram. Basically, I will be reading a book that has a title that starts with each letter of the alphabet. I've already made my list, making my reading for 2023 more intentional than it's ever been.

I've got at least two books for every letter in case I don't like what I'm reading or if I make it through the 26 books and it's not the end of the year and I want to start all over again.

I don't plan on going in order. I'm going to read the books I have in my house first.

So for A (for example) I will be reading An American Wife or Anatomy of Dreams.

For H- Hidden Figures or Hamnet

What are your reading goals for 2023? A number goal? Or you just want to be better at keeping up with what you read?

Good luck and good reading for 2023!
