It’s Championship Week, and we force our bettors to make a claim on every FBS conference game over the weekend. This is where the rubber meets the road and the College Football Playoffs find their matchups. As William Shakespeare once wrote, “We are ready to try our fortunes to the last man.” That was either Shakespeare or Hank Williams, Jr.

I wish the conference championships counted for more now. As in, a team wins one, they should automatically have a spot in the playoffs. Or a bye spot. Or something. Who knows. NIL! And how much will all these coaching shake-ups make for teams not playing their best in these games?

Sun Belt Championship
Troy (+23.5) vs James Madison - No respect for Troy!? Come on! James Madison going through a coaching change will affect this one. Troy may not win, but they’ll beat the spread at least.

Conference USA Championship
Kennesaw State at Jacksonville State (+2.5)  - I think the line here says that it’s hard to beat the same team twice in one season. I have faith in Jax State at home, though. Getting points at home is a bettor’s dream.

American Championship
North Texas (-2.5) at Tulane - I like North Texas here, in what could be a great game. Though the Green Wave have them at home, North Texas has a better resume overall.

Mountain West Championship
UNLV at Boise State (Over 59.5) - The last time these two teams played this very season, over eighty points hit the scoreboard. Give me the over.

SEC Championship
Georgia vs Alabama (Under 47.5) - Everything about this line feels impossible to judge. I’ll just bet that it’s a defensive struggle.

Big 12 Championship
BYU (+12.5) vs Texas Tech - Another pair who played earlier this season where the Red Raiders came away with a twenty-two point win. It’ll be closer this time, though the Cougars lose to them twice.

MAC Championship
Miami (OH) vs Western Michigan (-1.5) - The Broncos get their revenge from earlier this season.

Big Ten Championship
Indiana vs Ohio State (-4) - Don’t get the emotions get in the way of this one. As much as it pains me to say, Ohio State looks like the national champion this year. They’ll get at least a seven-point win against the Hoosiers.

ACC Championship
Duke vs Virginia (-4.5) - The Cavaliers have to be one of the surprises of the season, and it was only two weeks ago that they got the win against the Blue Devils. That’s too soon for the Devils to have something new cooked up to win the ACC this year.

NFL Game of the Week
Commanders at Vikings (-1.5) - The Commanders aren’t what they were last year, and a three-point win at home for the Vikings seems feasible.

TD Wood
The powers that be in college football will probably kill the conference title game at some point, which is a damn shame. While the playoff has taken some of the stakes out of this weekend, there’s still plenty of good storylines throughout the schedule.

Sun Belt Championship
Troy vs James Madison (-23.5) – The Dukes have steamrolled through the Sun Belt this year, with their only loss being a September defeat at Louisville. If Duke wins the ACC, there’s a chance JMU sneaks into the CFP, and I think that would be swell (As long as it wasn’t at Alabama’s expense).

Conference USA Championship
Kennesaw State at Jacksonville State (+2.5) – Sure, I’ll take the home dog going for back-to-back conference crowns here.

American Championship
North Texas at Tulane (+2.5) – Tempted to take the over in this one, but I think the key to a Green Wave victory will be slowing down Drew Mestemaker and the Mean Green. Both head coaches are off to bigger gigs, but the winner is in the CFP, so this should be a thriller.

Mountain West Championship
UNLV at Boise State (-4.5) – The Broncos have starting QB Maddux Madsen back, so I like them to tear up a bad UNLV defense en route to their seventh Mountain West title.

SEC Championship
Georgia vs Alabama (Under 47.5) – I don’t quite think this’ll be an old school SEC rock fight, but I do see it as a lower scoring affair that of course comes down to the end because this is our new life, fellow Tide fans.

Big 12 Championship
BYU vs Texas Tech (-12.5) – The Red Raiders didn’t have much trouble in the first matchup between these two, and I don’t see them struggling much in the rematch.

MAC Championship
Miami (OH) vs Western Michigan (-1.5) – I have not seen a lot of MACtion this year, so this is a dart throw.

Big Ten Championship
Indiana vs Ohio State (-4) – This is the toughest call on the slate. The win in Autzen Stadium gives me the urge to go with Indiana, but there’s just too much talent on the Buckeyes’ side of the ball.

ACC Championship
Duke (+4.5) vs Virginia – Honestly, this is just me wanting this amazing chaos scenario to unfold.

NFL Game of the Week
Rams (-8) at Cardinals – Man, Matthew Stafford and the Los Angeles offense have been on fire this season, and you gotta imagine the team is pissed about losing to the Panthers last Sunday. A little therapy beating of a divisional rival here should make them feel better.

Mallory McCormack
This time last week I was wondering if I could somehow make it to Atlanta in case Auburn pulled off a miracle. Here we are now, LK is now the Tiger King, Pete Golding is the Rebels head coach, and we have all learned that God and Nick Saban told LK to go to LSU. Can we get back to what really matters which is the actual games?! K, thanks.

Sun Belt Championship
Troy vs James Madison (-23.5) - I saw this and did a double take. But go look at the JMU scores from this season.

Conference USA Championship
Kennesaw State at Jacksonville State (+2.5) - I’ll take the team from Alabama. That’s all I got.

American Championship
North Texas at Tulane (+2.5) - I think Tulane doesn’t let Sumrall leaving affect them. Now it might if they get into the playoff but that’s a two week from now problem.

Mountain West Championship
UNLV at Boise State (-4.5) - I know you all all be shocked, but I’m picking against Mullen. He’s gross.

SEC Championship
Georgia (-2.5) vs Alabama - I want alllllll the chaos. Sic ‘em!

Big 12 Championship
BYU vs Texas Tech (-12.5) - This also feels weird, but Texas Tech is rolling, and I don’t see BYU stopping them.

MAC Championship
Miami (OH) vs Western Michigan (-1.5) - Hell, I don’t know.

Big Ten Championship
Indiana (+4) vs Ohio State - OK, this game is gonna be big. But if you’re Indiana, you better hope it’s not the same ref crew that ruled that back of the end zone fumble a touchdown last week.

ACC Championship
Duke vs Virginia (-4.5) - This is the weird game. I think Virginia will destroy Duke.

NFL Game of the Week
Steelers at Ravens (-6) - I just feel like Aaron’s age is quickly catching up to him.

Greg Bosworth
I’m so excited for this weekend. After two weeks of games with not too much drama, I think we might be in for a treat and get some chaos on Friday, Saturday, and on Selection Sunday.

Sun Belt Championship
Troy (+21.5) vs James Madison - I think James Madison may come into this game tight trying to put up big numbers to impress the committee. I think they win the game but it just seems like a big number when it is so much on the line.

Conference USA Championship
Kennesaw State at Jacksonville State (+2.5) - I just like the home team to win; nothing too deep.

American Championship
North Texas at Tulane (Over 66.5) - Both of these teams can put up points, and though sixty-seven is a lot, these two teams can definitely hit that number with no problems. If this total isn’t over or very close to the number I would be shocked

Mountain West Championship
UNLV (+4.5) at Boise State - I know it is on the blue turf and the Broncos may win the game, but I think Dan Mullens' squad makes it a much closer game than the first time if they don’t pull the upset.

SEC Championship
Georgia vs Alabama (+2.5) - Georgia has an Alabama problem and until Kirby beats Kalen I am going to always pick the Tide.

Big 12 Championship
BYU (+12.5) vs Texas Tech - The first game was ugly, but BYU is hard to blow out twice in a season. Kalani Sitake just got his extension to stay in Provo, and I expect a good fight from the Cougars with a playoff spot on the line. Tech will probably still  win but thirteen just seems like a lot in what I think may be the surprise game of the weekend.

MAC Championship
Miami (OH) vs Western Michigan (-2.5) - Nothing scientific about my pick other than I am going   with the Bama connection Lance Taylor. Broncos win again this time for the trophy in Detroit.

Big Ten Championship
Indiana (+4) vs Ohio State - This is by far the best team Ohio State has seen all season. It will be interesting to see if this game is close late how the Buckeyes react. Curt Cignetti remembers the feeling of being blown out a year ago and this is a better Hoosiers team. If it is not close I would be shocked. An Indiana win is more than likely yo me than a blowout

ACC Championship
Duke vs Virginia (-4.5) - This is the game that has been talked about all week for all the wrong reasons. There has been so much talk about how the ACC can get left out of the playoff completely. Virginia blew out Duke in Durham and though it may be closer than it was a few weeks ago, the Cavaliers win, cover, and end the drama that has been brewing since SMU lost to Cal last week.

NFL Game of the Week
Colts at Jaguars (ML + 110) - As hot as the Colts started the season, it is surprising that a loss on Sunday will put them out of first place completely, and that is exactly what is going to happen. The Jags, winner of three straight, will push it to four in a row and sole possession of first place in the AFC South. Duvaaalllll!!!!

Note: All games are against the spread. Odds are taken from MGM Grand Sportsbook
