[00:02:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me tell you what you're missing. I guess in broad strokes. So you don't get spoiled. It's really entertaining

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_03]: It's exciting leaves you wondering

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: What happened

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Wanting more it's well shot. Well acted doesn't waste a ton of time

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_03]: There are a couple of choices that the show could live without I think some sequences that feel like odd choices and maybe don't add a ton

[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna stick probably with that even through the finale

[00:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That they could have made a cut here or there

[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_03]: On a choice especially after once it's put together this show seen that it's not it's just not cooking like the rest of the show is

[00:02:47] [SPEAKER_03]: But it's okay

[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm gonna get into the episode witness

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the lead up to the ending set to air this week big ending explosive ending who knows

[00:02:58] [SPEAKER_03]: So find the timestamps if you're avoiding the details of the show because I'm gonna start spoiling it and you can skip ahead

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_03]: So they added horrible deed on top of horrible deed when it comes to your breasty. It's gonna leave you believing

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_03]: There's no way to have done the murder

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_03]: because

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Why have him do all these horrible horrible things and just be really obvious that he murdered

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Carolyn and

[00:03:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Plus he uses an iPhone on the show. It's a clear sign. He's a good guy

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_03]: relative term here good guy that but

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_03]: The most I have to say though is gonna probably be about Tommy

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_03]: He is someone who's not liked by colleagues, but he truly just wants that that's all he wants

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_03]: He wants a win because he wants to be loved

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_03]: And he's just not the type who can

[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Garner any attention or love on his own. He doesn't have charisma or charm to produce admiration

[00:03:52] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, we know these kinds of people and Peter Sarsgar plays it. No perfect. He's not a killer

[00:03:59] [SPEAKER_03]: you know unless he turns out to be but

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_03]: he's more

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Kind of sympathetic. He's slimy. Yeah, he's slimy that will contribute to his unlikability

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_03]: But he's just kind of sad

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Mysterious lays out has laid it out really well step by step even early on

[00:04:22] [SPEAKER_03]: He has this bad choice of shirt in the bar when he's celebrating Niko's win for DA

[00:04:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Even just small choices like that made by

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm guessing someone in the costuming department. It's good

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Another quick moment. I loved from the episode is when Peter Sarsgar it has Tommy

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Comes into the bathroom or rusty is nervously prepping to represent himself

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't have words for each other, but these two say a lot in those looks and the particular thing that I

[00:04:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Really loved is that Sarsgar does say something along the lines of okay then and then he

[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Makes that his goodbye, you know

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Like we all do sometimes at the end of a conversation and he says it in a tone as if they had already said a lot of things

[00:05:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So well done. It's well said to two or three words there as if to say we've said enough

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_03]: We're gonna say enough in the courtroom

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_03]: and

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Gives you the illusion that Tommy's not evil

[00:05:25] [SPEAKER_03]: He's just like I'm gonna go in here. I'm gonna get my win and want the admiration. Okay then, you know

[00:05:32] [SPEAKER_03]: and

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_03]: The way that Tommy's courtroom questioning of rusty goes it's our scars portrayal of that the editing the sound design

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_03]: They all synthesize into this excellent courtroom scene you have to love it

[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, he does the snap and then along with the sound design

[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Him snapping his finger. It's a perfect scene and the ending again

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_03]: It leans toward Tommy not being the murderer of Carolyn a firepoker is left by someone who apparently broke into his place

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't look like the actual weapon unless it's been cleaned up

[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You can read it a few different ways as you pair it with the post-it note on it that says go fuck yourself

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Like it's the actual murder weapon and someone's provided it to Tommy because he's doing a horrible job in their view

[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Or maybe it's a replica of it and it's a threat to him

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Like this is coming for you, too

[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe it's a replica and somebody's reminding him to look

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_03]: For it or point out something related to it like you you're dropping the ball go find this

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_03]: This is what you should do. Here's a reminder. I

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't think Tommy himself even knows at least the way it's being played in the scene

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_03]: One thing though is that it can't really be rusty or maybe any of his family because they were at home

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Doesn't mean to ask someone to do it. Perhaps detective Rico would have

[00:06:57] [SPEAKER_03]: The wherewithal and the knowledge on how to break in and do that

[00:07:02] [SPEAKER_03]: So rusty snaps, that's a given he snaps all the time. That's been shown to us

[00:07:09] [SPEAKER_03]: But does he snap enough to be a killer?

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Can't wait for the finale this week

[00:07:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Some concluding thoughts on the bear a little later

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's begin with that fifth episode of House of the Dragon titled regent and I might weave in and out of the sixth episode

[00:07:41] [SPEAKER_03]: So too small folk. It's the most recent. I'm actually gonna be able to get to it this week

[00:07:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Haven't seen the fifth and sixth episodes gonna be spoiling it soon

[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Careful sailing with me here if you haven't seen five and six

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_03]: So, you know Larry Strong's basically our JD Vance here and

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_03]: We should get the idea that smart capable women just get shit on that's

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_03]: That was episode five in a nutshell

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Episode 5 also opens with the head of the dragon

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_03]: from rena's dragon

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_03]: just

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_03]: huge

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_03]: enormous dragon head drug through the streets of

[00:08:26] [SPEAKER_03]: Kings Landing

[00:08:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Gives the extra some work to do, you know

[00:08:31] [SPEAKER_03]: But they give these astonished look that and they they say God is dead kind of

[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_03]: notion

[00:08:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That plays so well with their discontent over have not having enough food in the next episode

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, we're gonna turn on these rulers. We can do that now

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Their dragons are destructible. It's possible. I

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Did have the question on how agon is burned and I thought Targaryen's established as flame retardant in a way

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_03]: You know didn't a denarius walk through fire like 15 times on Game of Thrones

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but

[00:09:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Cursory research tells me they can burn from dragon fire but not regular fire

[00:09:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Which is kind of weird like dragon fire strong or even hotter

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Aegon's dragon is briefly mentioned

[00:09:24] [SPEAKER_03]: You got to think he's up and flying again if they left him behind

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_03]: That's what happened

[00:09:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe he's the mystery wild dragon that's flying around in episode six

[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_03]: don't know Olivia cook plays her scenes here that just

[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Would looks only it's really good. She knows a man had a hand in this

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Sir Christian coals of no use

[00:09:55] [SPEAKER_03]: He's not gonna answer her questions. It's time to cut him off from the bedroom, which

[00:10:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Might be the case she gives some longing looks toward the end of episode six and small folk

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_03]: As if to say yeah, that's the case and she doesn't she's not committed to that decision

[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Amon's now in control. He's kind of a king in charge here. He makes a decision to shut down the city

[00:10:27] [SPEAKER_03]: it's

[00:10:28] [SPEAKER_03]: good because it gives us the chance to

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Get super worried for these characters

[00:10:36] [SPEAKER_03]: It puts us in the small folk who play be a huge role in episode six gives us that moment where we get the guy

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Hugh I think his name is his wife his sick daughter. They try to leave to find some food

[00:10:48] [SPEAKER_03]: He's carrying the daughter by hand

[00:10:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It'll show me a father carrying his sick kid in his arms and he got a me

[00:10:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Got an immediate emotional

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Connection for me reaction from me

[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_03]: And then it did a pretty decent job of giving you this claustrophobic feel of all the other citizens crowding in your bunched up your

[00:11:09] [SPEAKER_03]: asshole to elbow

[00:11:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Worked for me to convey that this is an immediate effect on the lower class by aiming

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, he's like one blockade the city take care of one of the problems, but it doesn't he generates

[00:11:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Problems for the lower class which next episode allows Ray Nara to play on that smart move

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Show wise show winner riding was

[00:11:37] [SPEAKER_03]: It kind of also said to them that this guy Hugh has been shown a couple times to say a guns gonna come through force

[00:11:43] [SPEAKER_03]: He's gonna come through force, but now

[00:11:46] [SPEAKER_03]: They know that's not gonna happen

[00:11:51] [SPEAKER_03]: It is a bit frustrating at someone on Rainier's team doesn't try to reach out to Damon

[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_03]: I suppose maybe they have and he wasn't he won't respond or they haven't tried again or just go see it

[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Miss kind of what I'm getting at. I think that frustrations what we're supposed to feel though

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_03]: but in episode six

[00:12:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It's good to see

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Damon actually making a small move to

[00:12:14] [SPEAKER_03]: In some direction

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_03]: We saw him previously on his dragon try to talk the guys into joining these other people from that area these other

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_03]: House join us. They say no he threatens them with dragonfire, but he doesn't follow through with it because you know

[00:12:32] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I'll never win them if I don't if I burn them. That's not gonna work

[00:12:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay, that's fair I suppose but and in an episode six he gets a little bit more because he reaches out to Alice River

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Something needs to happen from him. It's hindering this show greatly that he's done

[00:12:52] [SPEAKER_03]: Almost nothing other than dream and have these nightmares be poison be tripping whatever

[00:12:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Matt Smith just too good at smirking

[00:13:00] [SPEAKER_03]: As he does with Lord strong when he finds out that the old toly man is dead

[00:13:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And he realizes probably Alice River had a hand in it

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_03]: He does too good of a job smirking to have him sidenlined to such a degree

[00:13:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Especially if his time is gonna be limited if he's gonna die soon

[00:13:14] [SPEAKER_03]: As predicted by this witchy woman. I don't know we need him we need him more do I get it

[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_03]: You just I don't know what the hell are the few men in the heron hall doing forms my question

[00:13:30] [SPEAKER_03]: They don't bother to wake him up every now and again when he's asleep in there to table

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Are they not checking on him asking if he's okay? Have you what are you drinking? I?

[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_03]: He meets with the phrase in episode five

[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_03]: They should have had Walter frail walking around as a toddler. Maybe he was an awfully old bastard in Game of Thrones

[00:14:10] [SPEAKER_03]: We get a sight of all fucking he was you know the Norman Peterson. Hey everyone

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_03]: Cheers, let me buy you a round. I'm a Targaryen

[00:14:20] [SPEAKER_03]: He needs to get that resume and to rain air as quick

[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_03]: Because they're starting to

[00:14:28] [SPEAKER_03]: recruit dragon riders

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Which takes us back to that Hugh Hugh hammer remember he got his food from

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_03]: He could out he could turn out to be a dragon rider

[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_03]: We're spending time with him for a reason right you get to think at least

[00:14:48] [SPEAKER_03]: One of these folks is red herring though, and it's gonna be gobbled up by a damn lizard

[00:15:35] [SPEAKER_03]: ended with Adam

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Likely getting the dragon that belonged to rain air as old husband who may or may not be dead

[00:15:43] [SPEAKER_03]: He's got to be dead. I think because he I

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Don't know if the dragon would try to connect with someone if it didn't sense that he was dead

[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_03]: But this is nicely set up he's telling his older brother, I think older brother Alan

[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_03]: You know we deserve to be moved of the ranks. You should quit shaving your head declare who you are don't deny it

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_03]: But I thoroughly expected a comical line of men and women outside of Dragon stone to attempt to ride dragons with Rainier

[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm peeking out the door and yelling next

[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Really had that pictured

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_03]: It does seem like we got enough characters to kind of do it to line up so maybe a line out the door wasn't too far fetched

[00:16:28] [SPEAKER_03]: But I suppose they handled Adam getting a dragon another way just letting a dragon come to him

[00:16:35] [SPEAKER_03]: It was almost once you figure out what's going on. It's almost like a huge cat trying to play with him which

[00:16:43] [SPEAKER_03]: That's an entertaining sight

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Ah

[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_03]: My my Saria she's like the

[00:16:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Mistress of whispers for Rainier. Is she the love interest now for it Rainier? I guess that makes sense

[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Does it it does seem like maybe it was building to that perhaps?

[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I just don't think that actress is that great. I hope she gets more to do than just frown now that she

[00:17:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Might

[00:17:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Be more useful than just advice

[00:17:15] [SPEAKER_03]: You know are they a couple I don't know

[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Gives her a chance to make an intelligent move with the whole sending food over that was smart from her but

[00:17:26] [SPEAKER_03]: She's just one note as an actress and

[00:17:29] [SPEAKER_03]: That might be the role that might be the direction. So we'll see

[00:17:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Kudos to the show for the boats coming in a shore how it was filmed a great move by the director

[00:17:40] [SPEAKER_03]: It's choice like this it separates this show from others where you think wow, that's a boat of food as bright idea

[00:17:46] [SPEAKER_03]: We thought we knew that was probably gonna happen

[00:17:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm I assume it's where we were going but then the camera does a slightly slow pan to reveal that it's a lot more than one boat

[00:17:56] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a hundred boats

[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Gives us a demonstration how expansive all of this can really be

[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And

[00:18:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Last thing I'll say about these last couple episodes is that my understanding subverting expectations

[00:18:11] [SPEAKER_03]: But you'd love to say amen and Damon sword fight or dragon fighter both that would be

[00:18:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Good, but does the show ever give you what you want?

[00:18:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Sometimes yes. Sometimes no

[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Final season of Game of Thrones

[00:18:28] [SPEAKER_03]: Did in disappointing ways and didn't in disappointing ways

[00:18:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, it's what I got on House of the Dragon both episodes though

[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_03]: Episode five a little slower than what I expected

[00:18:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe not what I expected but a little slower

[00:18:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Maybe I did expect it because after the huge dragon fire you gotta pump the brakes a little

[00:22:17] [SPEAKER_03]: As much as we probably love Carm as a character and a protagonist he has to change

[00:22:29] [SPEAKER_03]: He apologizes or in the case with Claire really doesn't ever but he doesn't change

[00:22:41] [SPEAKER_03]: He continues to treat people kind of badly

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_03]: It's the way he was raised you get a really good idea that last season in this season. That's not like I

[00:22:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Mean it's his fault, but you know you can see how he got to that point

[00:22:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think we're to be out and out pissed at him for it because a lot of this is the product of his raising

[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Turned Sydney into who and what she's become and you know, it's a mirroring of

[00:24:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Joel McKell's character. He's only named once but

[00:24:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Evil chef, you know, he's doing a very similar thing to Sydney or

[00:24:38] [SPEAKER_03]: That's become the fallout. It's very similar fallout, you know, and it's sad

[00:24:46] [SPEAKER_03]: True, it's the whole hurt people hurt people saying good bit in episode 10 to where

[00:24:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Your Reggie questions for the secret staying inspired and his friend who has a similar oldness closing restaurant

[00:25:05] [SPEAKER_03]: She replies that she keeps herself surrounded by people making herself better than her excuse me. She

[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Surround yourself with people better than you and that's a that's a ethos

[00:25:16] [SPEAKER_03]: I love that was I remember sweet dog in Tulsa

[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't think it'll play well. We do we which is what I prefer from TV

[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I did see a couple of episodes in this season that

[00:25:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Felt a little place-holding if they felt a little hey, let me remind you of what's happening. Let me

[00:26:07] [SPEAKER_03]: Show you something but I already realized it but the episodes that hit hit deep

[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_03]: The cliffhanger the cliffhanger ending. I'm kind of okay with I'm on board with that because I know they filmed it back to back

[00:26:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I know I'm gonna get answers to these. It's fine. I can wait, you know, I can prolong happiness

[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_03]: There's enough good TV to keep me occupied until then and
